Re: 7.1 available today?
All, It looks like v7.1 was released. However the Compatibility Matrix is not yet updated. ( http://www.bmc.com/support/bmcremedycomp/index.htm ) Other than that, I have had no real issue getting the new version from the new download site. Now all I need is some time to go play... :) But from what I see.. it looks like the new Java based plug-ins are a complete suite of them. (AREA, ARDBC, ARF) [ great news there] And it looks like there might be samples of each too! So many docs to read... so little time. :) -- Carey Matthew Black Remedy Skilled Professional (RSP) ARS = Action Request System(Remedy) Love, then teach Solution = People + Process + Tools Fast, Accurate, Cheap Pick two. > On 8/31/07, Easter, David <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > ** > > > > Should be up on EPD sometime after 5pm Pacific Time today. > > > > Thanks, > > > > > > -David J. Re: R: Integration with SMS Microsoft and CMDB - BMC: Remedy Discovery Service 7.0 for Microsoft SMS 2003? - Urgent Feedback Please
In addition to the no charge Remedy Link for SQL license, you can also download the open source integration between SMS and CMDB located at - http://developer.bmc.com/jiveProd/entry.jspa?externalID=463 . This will provide you with the mappings and other goodness you will need to do the integration. - Kelly Deaver [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Original Message > Subject: Re: R: Integration with SMS Microsoft and CMDB - BMC: Remedy > Discovery Service 7.0 for Microsoft SMS 2003? - Urgent Feedback Please > From: Tony Worthington <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Date: Fri, August 31, 2007 8:53 am > To: arslist@ARSLIST.ORG > > If you own CMDB 2.0 you are entitled to both a RLS and RLO license. > Contact support/licensing. > > > -- > Tony Worthington > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > 262-703-5911 > > > > gcorgnati <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Sent by: "Action Request System discussion list(ARSList)" > > 08/31/2007 01:31 AM > Please respond to > arslist@ARSLIST.ORG > > > To > arslist@ARSLIST.ORG > cc > > Subject > R: Integration with SMS Microsoft and CMDB - BMC: Remedy Discovery Service > 7.0 for Microsoft SMS 2003? - Urgent Feedback Please > > > > > > > ** > Hi, > We try to do this integration but we fail because the mapping file with > the CMDB 2.0 are not available. Re: Can CMDB 2.0 work ITSM 6.0
There is an ITSM6 and CMDB 2.0 Integration pack - it is a compilation of scripts run from a local Windows workstation that can connect to your server. It also contains several manual steps as well. You will need to hound BMC for this - but it is important - especially if you're not completely comfortable with all the changes of CMDB2 vs 1 - it addresses the deployed application permissions, groups, roles, forms and class changes, etc. Janie From: Bob Rowe [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Friday, August 31, 2007 5:59 AM Subject: Re: Can CMDB 2.0 work ITSM 6.0 ** According to BMC Education as of last March, yes, it will work. And we're going to be counting on it. We are in the planning stage at the moment, but we figure this will be the best way to go until all the local organizations using and planning to be using our Remedy installation will be on-board with ITIL best practices. You will need the latest release and patch of ARS 7, the latest patch for ITSM 6 and the latest release and patch for the CMDB. If you're experienced enough with both HD 7 and CMDB to be comfortable doing that, then there is no patch or white paper necessary. If you aren't, there was supposed to be a white paper issued to lead one through that process. I have been waiting for such a promised white paper for about a year now, but it seems to be no longer on the radar, or I think it would be out. You may be on your own for this one.
