AREA LDAP

2010-11-26 Thread irina solarcuka
Hi,
I've got the question about an authentication.
I'm going to configurate the Remedy 7.1 server for AREA LDAP using.
All users in User form will have the blank password. The users will be
prompted for login once only.
The question is what happens if the password will be changed within LDAP?
Does it mean that this user will be prompted for login once more?

Best regards,
Irina

Hello,

They will not be prompted to login again until they login again, at which point
they will need to use the new password.

AW: AREA LDAP

2010-11-26 Thread Andreas Müller
Hi Irina,

you are talking about Cross Ref Blank Password, which means that only the
password will be authenticated against the LDAP directory.

1. The user has to login to his Windows PC with his DomainName+
DomainPassword

2. He starts the Usertool and has to give DomainName + DomainPassword
again (except you disabled the Flag prompt for login)

If the Password in the LDAP Directory changes, then of course this will be
invalid on your next login to ARS and Autologin via disabled flag prompt for
login will fail.

Best regards

Andreas

Bit difficult to tell you what is happening without a bit more information.

Service filter and join forms, performance...

2010-11-26 Thread Jarl Grøneng
Hi,

Created a service filter on a join form. When accessing the
service(from another form and filter) I see in the SQL logs that the
service does a query against the join form with no where clause. The
service filter does what it is told to do, but the query happend at
the end of the service filter.

With 700 000 + records in the join form it takes a while...

Re: am I missing something? filter phases

2010-11-26 Thread Halleux, Jean-Louis
I am afraid the information in the previous post is not correct.

When you make a Push field action in a filter ending with `!, you force
the action to be executed in phase 1.

But on submit, the Request ID field is known only in transaction
phase, which is after phase 1 and before phase 2.

So you will never be able to push the request id from a filter with `!
on submit.

There are however many workarounds this limitation:

- use the GUID instead of Request ID

- use a filter without the `!

- create your own request id that you increase yourself

Best regards.

Eli Schilling,

The filter which you written on the second form has to work on the
higjest excecution order i.e 999

Hey list!

its been a little while since I've built workflow so maybe I just need a
sanity check.

I am trying to create workflow that takes data from one form (button
press or via escalation) and creates a record on another form. On submit
of the second form, I am pushing the 'Request ID' to a third form to
trigger another series of events. The first filter that does push fields
includes `! at the end of the name. However, the entire process fails
because it is attempting to push a null value (Request ID) from the
second form to a required field on the third form.

Isn't that the point of - `! - ? So you can force the push fields in
phase 1, create the record and execute additional workflow immediately
thereafter?

We're on ARS 7.5 Patch 007, Windows 2003 and SQL 2005.

Thanks!
