Re: Email Engine Errors - Seen this before?

2010-12-14 Thread Chris Danaceau
It looks like the problem was one of the messages on the Lotus Notes server.
We cleared the inbox and that seems to have resolved the issue.

Is there an email message in the mailbox with a size 65,000 bytes?

What are your java memory settings for the Email Engine?

We're getting a cryptic email engine error.   ARS 7.1 platform.  SUSE Linux 10;
Oracle 10g R2. It's for a mailbox that's been established and working since
September of this year. I've checked the credentials. This is for an IMAP
connection to a Lotus Notes mail in database. It had been repeating every
minute (our poll rate). We restarted the email engine and now it occurs once
at restart, but new messages are not being retrieved.

Re: Reg ARS 7.6.03 AR Server Licenses imported from ARS 6.4 on AIX

2010-12-14 Thread Grooms, Frederick W
Remedy servers are licensed per server (HostID). Since you are moving from 1
server to another that is called a purge and can be performed on the support
web site. I believe that when you purge (giving the site the new HostID so a
new key is generated) that you have something like 30 days to stop using the
old key so you have time to switch.

With the ARS 7.x platform only the server has an actual license key, that is
why you are seeing what you are on the licenses.

Thanks Tony for your reply
Thanks Scott for your reply

I think I need to have the license file updated as per the new HostId.

But, any idea if I switch the host Id of current and new Server?

I already imported the 6.4 license file in 7.6 and it shows correct number of
lisences and also, only ARS server license key is comming up there. So I think
if I switch the HostId, system should work.

What do you think, please comment.

Vaibhav,
Because you haven't actually purchased a new server license you probably cannot
generate the server license you need from the support site (the support site
requires you to enter a PO# that relates to a purchase of a new server
license).

You will need to contact BMC support, send them your license file and have it
converted to a 7.x version.

** Vaibhav,

You will need to generate new 7.1+ licenses from the BMC Support website as
they change when moving to ARS 7.1+.  You will be given the selection of the
version of ARS that you are licensing.  And yes, the ARS key is dependent on
the host ID of the server you are running it on.  On the plus side, the only
key that you need is the AR Server license, and others can be added without a
key.  Obviously, you need to actually own the licenses to install them.  Hope
this helps.

2010-12-14 Thread Easter, David
Ø You will need to generate new 7.1+ licenses from the BMC Support website as
they change when moving to ARS 7.1+.

Just FYI, this is not quite correct. While it is true that the format changed,
the importing of pre-7.1.00 license files automatically converts the server
license key format to 7.1.00. This can occur either during an upgrade or when
the import is done post-install.

However, if the hostid has changed, that seems the most obvious issue to
address.

the CLAT is part of the client side logging.

Mid-tier changes do not go in Home directory. I think you need to create a User
