Re: Hude Login ID Conversion
I have published a free utility written that has similar capabilities to Misi's RRR|LoginConv using the Java API and posted the write-up and download here: http://soleauthority.net/login-converter-utility-for-mass-updating-login-ids/ It hasn't gone through exhaustive testing as of yet but I would welcome anybody testing it and providing feedback for further improvements. Here is a quick list of capabilities it provides: - High performance updates from an old LoginID to a new LoginID utilizing merge action that bypasses workflow - Single update or define multiple Login ID updates for a single pass - Updates all Character Fields (regardless of size) - Match exact - (optional) Match surrounded by single/double quotes - (optional) Match surrounded by separators such as white-space, comma, period, pipe, semi-colon or colon - (optional) Updates all Status History entries - (optional) Updates all Diary Field entries And here is a list of nice features above and beyond the core capability: - Two progress bars show displaying progress by the currently processing form and the overall end to end process. - Ability to control the speed by way of a delay slider that will slow down or speed up the processing dynamically - Ability to pause / resume the processing - Ability to cancel in-flight updates (doesn’t not roll back, just stops wherever it happens to be) - Ability to toggle on/off the scope/matching capabilities - Ability to specify all forms to be checked or a specific form only - Ability to ‘simulate’ the run without actually make any changes - Detailed output provided on forms processed and matches found Cheers, On Mon, Sep 29, 2014 at 3:01 PM, Misi Mladoniczky wrote: > Hi, > > The RRR|LoginConv worked just fine, but it is written in ARSperl which has > kind not been recently updated. Re: choosing fields to be included in email notification
Serouche, I have done something similar to this in the past. Sothe way you do it is with a series of filters, one filter for each field needing to be included. For each field/filter, check to see if it's designated to be included in the notification, if it is, copy the contents of that field into a tmp field that you are 'building'. Be sure to include 'fieldname: fieldvalue' with an enter character, or something similar. Then, after the field list is built, you can then send a notification with any other text you want and include that built up text field. Re: Remedy 8.1.2 on VM
Tommy, We have been running virtual for a number of years now (AR, Midtier). VMWare is the host system, which is what I would recommend. Our database is physical (MSSQL). We are running FTS with no issues once we configured FTS properly. We did have our primary FTS server overloaded, once we identified that and moved some of the load to another system zero issues. Our disks are EMC cabinets using mounted file systems on the OS which have not exhibited any issues from that configuration. We do have really good people that manage our storage arrays which is immensely helpful! Jim Coryat Senior Software Engineer Micron Technology, Inc. From: Tommy Morris [mailto:tommy.mor...@radioshack.com] Sent: Wednesday, October 22, 2014 10:04 AM Subject: Remedy 8.1.2 on VM ** Just wondering how many are running the current ARS, CMDB, ITSM on VM's. My current hardware is at end of life and I need justification to purchase a new server. Our mid-tiers are running VM with no problem of course but I am concerned about the stability and performance of running ARS and CMDB on a VM instance. Anyone have pros/ cons of going virtual? Encoding attachment type to string in bmc Remedy ver 7.1
Hi , We are working on BMC remedy ver 7.1 and it's an customized one. (no ITSM, no CMDB). We are consuming our client web service on our staging form to send attachment files to their remedy. But they have given us web service with attachment data type as string. I am unable to map it with my field on staging form due to incompatible type as it's in a base64binary. I need to convert attachment data to string type before sending it to our client and same we need to do it as vice versa. Please let me know how to encode and decode this attachment type from base64binary to string and vice versa. Thanks, Anup ___ UNSUBSCRIBE or access ARSlist Archives at www.arslist.org "Where the Answers Are, and have been for 20 years"
choosing fields to be included in email notification
Dear experts, One new requirement is to let the users chose which field should be included in an email notification. Like on form A there will be some check boxes which will then refer to some fields of form B. When a modification will occur on form B, the "tagged" fields could be included in a mail notification. I personally believe The idea itself is sort of out of space. But that's a new requirement. Any ideas/tips on how it is possible to implement such workflow would be greatly appreciated. Best greetings Serouche PS: the current environment is ARS 7.5 patch 7 banana installation ___ UNSUBSCRIBE or access ARSlist Archives at www.arslist.org "Where the Answers Are, and have been for 20 years"
