I have downloaded a fresh setup from BMC site 2 days later and unzipped the
files like Disk 1  2, then tried it worked.

When you extract the install onto the server it should have created the

I sent those fields on the .csv file but I don't know why is it??

Pamela - the answer can be a bit tricky and problematic.  The Change
application has several rules around Actual Start and End Dates and
Scheduled Start and End Dates.  You may need to provide multiple different
values depending on when the Change was originally 'submitted' since Start
dates cannot exist before that date or before the date in the Earliest
Start Date field.  So in addition to providing 'adequate' Start/End Dates
you also need to make sure that specific other hidden fields are set
correctly.  I had to do this a lot in a previous job and I found the
easiest way for me to do so was to export some GOOD records that were
already set to Closed and analyze the other fields that needed to be set a
specific way.  Then determine one or multiple dates that will work given
the finicky nature of Change date rules and update your csv accordingly.

Unique Index in 8.1.2

Hi,

I'm in BMC ITSM 8.1.2, MS SQL.

- in Dev Studio 8.1.2 Indexing is available for some Overlay Forms, but New 
button is grey.
For Other Overlays it is not even available.

- in Atrium Class Manager I have created unique index for BaseElement form - 
Serial Number, tested and still can modify records with duplicate SN.

Question:

- is it possible to verify unique index works? (looks like it is sort of 
Pending - has small red arrow on the Form icon.)

remember, in old times in Admin Tool, when creating unique index, i used to get 
some errors showing duplicate records IDs, and it was not possible to create it 
until removing those records.

How long does it take to create unique index in Class manager? Is it anything 
else must be done?

C-API Question of SetForm action

Hi All,
I have tried all I can find and I have no other Ideas.
I am using the C-API Ver: 7.6.4   though DotNet (C#) VS2013.
I have no issues when it comes to reading the objects through the API using any 
of the get methods . _server.GetForm(Name),  pulls the BMC.ARSystem.ARForm  
with no issues

But when I try to Update the form or any other workflow objects for that matter 
after I modify a property on or no modifications to see if it will update, I 
get an Error.

Error (303): Form does not exist on server;Invalid object or object name for 
overlay mode set
Or
An unhandled exception of type 'System.AccessViolationException' occurred in 
BMC.arnettoc.dll

I could use some in-site on this issue or possible alternatives.

Hi,

I would personally be very careful while modifying objects through a wrapper
API such as the DotNet API...

In ny case this has to do with the fact that you might work in Best Practice
Mode. This means that you can only modify custom objects or objects that has
already been overlaid. Or you work in Base mode whereas Custom objects does
not even exist.

For the object you try to modify you must check the objects
AR_SMOPROP_OVERLAY_PROPERTY. You can then sett your AR_SMOPROP_OVERLAY_GROUP
using the ARSetSessionConfiguration() API call.

Good luck!

Note that admin changes such as these will require the server to recache which
takes time and consume memory. It depends much on the servers cache mode
setting. In any event doing admin changes is not something you should do on a
regular basis...

To the best of my knowledge, there was never a problem with any of the prior
versions as with the current versions when creating a unique index if the
criteria for a unique index are already met.

That field must have a value with no duplicates (beware NULL is a value so
cannot be repeated).

I'm assuming you might have already checked for duplicates among non null
values. Have you checked for duplicate NULL values?


Also for further clarity (just in case you are missing something critical)
could you line up the steps you took in order to create that unique index -
including steps taking to create an overlay in the event you are creating
this index on a form that is an OTB form considering you make a mention of
overlays in your posting..
