Re: Problem to answer survey in BMC Remedy ITSM 8.1

2015-09-30 Thread Natalia Cuesta
Hi,

I answer the survey, but it does not close.

The survey returns opening without answers and it changes its status to
Responded.

I try with User Tool and Internet Explorer 8 and the survey closes.

I had BMC Remedy ITSM 8.1.

Best regards,

Natalia Cuesta

Best and most recent well behaved ARServer version for upgrade

2015-09-30 Thread Marc Burick
Good morning.
Can you suggested the newest and most stable version of ARServer that is
supported? All of our applications are home grown and our organization is
still using the 7.6 sp 5 client.

I asked the same questions a few months ago, but we did not upgrade at
that time. We were looking at 8.1.02 since 9.x was just released.

It has been 6 months since I last inquired. Have you found 9.0.00 or
9.0.01 to be just as stable as 8.1.02 or is 8.1.02 still the best version
to go with?

So why did this happen (alternat title: How to lock out all of your users)

2015-09-30 Thread William Rentfrow
We have a Remedy 7.6.04 system which as been replaced by another vendor. It is
being phased out.

As part of that process we are greatly reducing licenses and changing users to
floating from fixed.

I did a search in the User form where 'Application License' LIKE "%Fixed%".
Then I exported the Request ID and Application License of all of those users.

In the ARX file I replaced "Fixed" with "Floating" and then re-imported all of
them, using the option to update old record with the new data.

Everyone who got updated now gets a 623 "Authentication failed" error when
trying to login - which is weird, because we use LDAP for authentication. None
of the password should have changed. The import process could have (and should
have) updated the user's user_cache entry, but not in a way where I'd expect
them to get locked out.

IF I update their user record somehow it fixes the problem for the individual
user.

Weird

I'm not sure why it is happening, but we saw the same thing a few years back.
After we imported, we ended up searching for all the records that had been

Re: Billing/Invoicing application that works with ITSM

2015-09-30 Thread Stan Feinstein
Hi Roger,

My company’s ActionProgram Manager Plus (APM Plus) can collect costs and do
billing and it does a lot more than that. We have counted 18 use cases,
particularly when combined with the ITSM suite. As compared to ITBM, it is
also Remedy-based.

APM Plus is a process and life cycle management system which includes a lot of
functionality. When added to the ITSM Suite, it turns it into a fully
integrated Demand Management System. The idea is to track all work in the
Remedy system and connect the work to a service request. If you know the cost
of each service request, since you know who the requester was and the
organization they are in, you can summarize this to get the cost of the work
performed for each organization. This is one of the 18 use cases.

If you’d like to discuss this, please give me a call at 310-230-1722.

Thanks.

v9 SP2 was released in the last week or so as well but I haven’t heard any
feedback about it yet.

Mark,
I've had a few corner issues with 9.0.x...but overall the server is stable. As
you stated...there is an SP1 for it which I can recommend

** Good morning.
Can you suggested the newest and most stable version of ARServer that is
supported? All of our applications are home grown and our organization is still
using the 7.6 sp 5 client.

I asked the same questions a few months ago, but we did not upgrade at that
time. We were looking at 8.1.02 since 9.x was just released.

It has been 6 months since I last inquired. Have you found 9.0.00 or 9.0.01 to
be just as stable as 8.1.02 or is 8.1.02 still the best version to go with?
