Any idea how to apply Audit on Asset-CI attributes on CMDB 8.1....?

2016-01-26 Thread Abhishek Anand
Hi Expert,

Any idea for audit on the CI attributes on the Asset form for the CMDB 8.1?

Ex - To carry data for past 6 months for the CI status change.

Also please highlight if it could impact the server performance.

Cheers,

Abhi.

Re: Atrium CMDB Recon job configuration

2016-01-26 Thread David Charters
Pandi,

If I understand you question correctly, you simply need to go to the
reconciliation console and the jobs you want and the others off. I’m guessing
you might need to make some adjustments to some of the OOTB Recon jobs since
you are not using the sandbox (which I think could be a mistake but just make
sure you understand the process before you get started).

Hi,

Regarding for Atrium CMDB Jobs configuration.

We are going to configure a new Recon job to update only the on premise dataset
to Asset. So we would like to make sure that other datasets should not update
the CI's.

1. How to find other Dataset & Recon jobs.
2. How to disable Sandbox & Other datasets jobs which are updating CI's to
Asset.
3. How to make the disabled jobs are not updating again the Asset, & not
created as well.

Vivek,

Did you run the pre-upgrade check program on your target system before you did
the upgrade? That might give you more details.

Hi,

While running Remedy9 installer, I got following severe error:

,SEVERE,com.bmc.install.product.arsuitekit.platforms.arsystemservers.arserver.ARServerPriorToServerJDatabaseUpgradeTask,
  LOG EVENT {Description=[arserver.installer.preupgrade.descriptionFailed to
run Database Upgrade Utility]}

We are trying to upgrade remedy 8.1.02 to 9 and in installer we gave option for
DB to Upgrade

there were no other errors while installation and in end it just shows that
installation failed.
Please let me know if anyone knows how to resolve this.

Thanks,
Vivek

Re: Remedy 9.x and Amazon Web Services

2016-01-26 Thread David Charters
Joe,

The On Demand system can absolutely be cheaper than maintaining all the
servers, licenses, software etc… yourself. If I followed the thread correctly
you have an all custom built system. Is this because OOB ITSM isn’t what you
need (for example maybe you wrote a CRM system from scratch). It also matters
if you are using Windows or Linux, MSSQL or Oracle, and are these multi-tiered,
grouped redundant systems with load balancers or basic 2 box setups (App and
database servers). I am an independent consultant not a sales person, but I
have seen the On-Demand system be the better bet for many customers. I would
reach out to your sales person and get some quotes, it can’t hurt and the ITSM
9.x of today is so much better than the systems of the past.

Do you have additional instances on AWS for development and/or testing? Also
wondered about setting up a secondary server for disaster recovery, but I'm
guessing part of the reason of using the cloud is not having to do that.

I'm also looking at the PDF that Remedy published about On Demand. I have no
idea about the pricing, but (given their change review board etc.) I am
guessing it could not possibly be cheaper than maintaining everything
ourselves, like we're doing today.

Warren,

I just came across your message and wondered whether you, or anyone else, had
any further luck with this. My group has been tasked with moving (or at least
looking into moving) our current Remedy system to AWS -- specifically, to
GovCloud. Currently we have ARS 8.0 with Oracle DB; Win. Svr. 2008. We are not
using ITSM nor any other OOTB apps -- all custom-built.

Based on what I've seen, the AWS EC2 product offers a Windows Server platform
with various flavors of MS-SQL.
