AR7.5 Upgrade Guide

I use AR7.1 + Mid-Tier 7.1+ ITSM Suite 7.0.3 + CMDB 2.1



I plan to upgrade AR Server, Mid-Tier 7.1, AR Email Engine,AR Flashboard
from 7.1 version to 7.5 to resolve some issues.



Is anyone who upgraded like this to use AR7.5 + ITSM Suite 7.0.3 + CMDB 2.1?




Please Know me whether other issue happens or not.





And I want to know any directions(H/W including OS, S/W, WAS etc) to perform
best for this configuration.

I need actual guide for performance maximization.



If Who has a experience for this , please know me .  thanks.

Thanks for your help.

 

This Server is on production. And Development Cache Mode is on.

We are importing workflow objects Because of this hang problem.

But  Hang problem happens in that time too.

 

I don’t know what is the solution.

 

How is it in your case?

After you save a workflow object, the server will re-cache its objects causing 
disruption to any connected users. Depending on the amount of memory and the 
amount of forms and workflow on your server, this can be for a significant 
amount of time.

This is just one of the reasons you should never develop on a server that is 
actually used for production purposes... ;-)

If you have a testing/dev environment, switch it to Development Cache Mode 
(look for it in the Configuring guide). This way, any connected users will have 
a better experience. There is a downside to this as well, it will affect 
overall performance of the server; you should NOT set a production system to 
Development Cache Mode.

Another tip for the save to happen almost instantaneously is that before saving 
your Active link or Active links or any other workflow such as filters etc, is 
that you click on the Server Name on the server window, so as to not display 
the list of the Active Links or the Filters or whatever it is that you are 
saving.

 

The Admin tool is designed to perform a search after every save if you have the 
list showing. This search does not happen if you either close the Server window 
or click on its name so that the list does not show.. Then it doesn't really 
matter if you have details enabled or not..

Thanks Conny, like when you say but only for active links :-)

 

I applied the patch and did some tested with active links but not sure if I 
have noticed too much difference, but perhaps I have a server running on a 
VMWARE and things will be slow anyway :)

No worries Frank - I think its fixed in a user tool patch later in the
7.1 series - but I cannot remember which patch

It's a little bit of a pain to switch off the details view - but typically I'd 
use ARUtilities to determine the details etc, and leave the admin tool switched 
off for speed :-)

CMDB 1.1- BMC_Dependency Relation Class Attribute Modification Problem

AR Server 6.3 patch 023

ITSM 6.0 Package

CMDB 1.1 patch 05

OS: Windows 2003 Server

DB : MS SQL 2000 Server

We have a problem when modify attribute permission in BMC_Dependency
Relation Class.

We've tried to change DeleteInstanceTrigger attribute change permission to
APP-Support Group.

But It happened to have error with 93 error message. And There isn't any
pending list in OBJSTR:Pending Form. So we cannot use cmdbdriver for this
problem.

And I tried to analyze logs(filter,api,sql) but each log size is over
50Mbecause of the problem.

Anyone have any ideas for what I could solve this problem?
