Re: Objects are slow to migrate using Migrator 8.1.02

2016-02-15 Thread Bala iLink
Kevin,

We are using Remedy Migrator (same version as yours) and it will take time to
migrate then the normal dev studio import/export for its own reasons. Since its
a Group form, its possible that the cache will come into effect as well.

Thanks,
Bala

All

We are using AR Migrator 8.1.02 to migrate from a def file to a server. The
def file contains 1 Form. It takes 20 mins for the Migrator process to
complete. I created a ticket with BMC and the response was this is expected
time because we have 37000 records in our Group form and the Group form is
needed by Migrator to assign permissions.

37,000 records doesn't seem a lot to me. I would expect a normal user base
would have similar number of records. If Migrator is choking because of this,
I would assume not many companies could use AR Migrator.

I was trying to find out if anyone out there has successfully been able to use
Migrator and has a similar record count in their Group form. I would expect
1-2 min completion times for 1 form with 8 fields on it, not 20-25 mins. I have
also tried one just one Filter with similar results and I have also tried
multiple servers. I have enabled logging, SQL, Filter, and Migrator and no
real indicators appear in the logs.

I would appreciate if anyone else is able to share their results with Migrator
so I can determine if this truly is the expected response time or if I need to
continue troubleshooting.

Thanks

Kevin

P.S. If I use Dev Studio to import the form, it completes in seconds. I know
I can use Dev Studio but I am trying to implement Migration Processes using AR
Migrator as our tool.

Mark,

Change the Selection Values and retain the Alias Values. It will leave you with
only modifying the selection values. No need to change the Workflows, as it
will take care of the alias values.

HI All & TGIF

On the CHG: Infrastructure Change has anyone modified the values on the Risk
Level field? OTB it is Risk Level 1, 2, etc. This doesn't mean anything to most
people and I have been asked about change it to something like None, Low, etc.
I am thinking that since this is a zero based selection field any workflow
associated to this field or any data feeding onto this field would be not
impacted so long as I didn't delete any of the values (0-4).

Mark,

It appears that the escalation or the workflow triggered by the escalation is
setting up the 'status' field to NULL, which is a mandatory field. Can you
check the form name for T1060 in the schema tables and see, why the status is
updating it to null.

Since it is from 390603 it is from an Escalation (At least the Escalation
kicked off the transaction)

To find it turn on SQL and Filter logging. Either put them in the same log

Hi Folks, Season’s greetings to all. I’m at a bit of a loss here. Environment:
Win R2 2008 x64 Server Enterprise on VM Workstation with 8Gb; MS SQL 2008
Server ITSM pre-configurered stack installer. I noticed that there is a new
requirement that the “AR Alias Name be in a DNS server” (and after
troubleshooting this many many times), so I added to the Win Server the DSN
server, as well as a Domain server, fixed the SQL server authentication etc. I
have a static IP on a VMWare bridged interface for IPV4, still DHCP on IPV6. I
still the same problem I always had since 7.6.03 (on a simpler machine) which
is this: ARS starts up, loads all workflow, forms etc but never opens the
listen port and hangs in the starting state. It looks like AR Escalator is
working as are all other internal threads. No activity in the process. The
service then hangs in the Starting state and AR monitor (of-course) complains.
I have tried this on Oracle with 7.6.03 and the same problem (just ARS no
ITSM). Anyone have any clue as to what I can do? Cheers Ben Chernys

Hello Everyone,

I am stuck with one issue, can someone suggest something on this please -

I have developed workflow for automatic case generation from emails sent to a
particular email address - that's an entire team in here.
Everything completely customized with customized staging forms and all.

I set an attachment limit of 25 MB, and below is how I test it -

New Inbound email entry in AR System Email Messages Form addressed to xyz
address( that's unique) and it triggers my workflow.
While creating an entry in AR Email messages, I am able to give
25 MB csv, and case is generated as per the code, but I gets following error
message if I try to attach any xls mroe than 11 MB -

ARERR [8703] Bad attachment size

It's ITSM 6.3 on AIX.

Nothing in SQL logs.

Any suggestion/ideas are much appreciated.

Thanks Regards,

Re: Email Notifcation

2011-04-01 Thread Bala iLink

Hi Rajesh

I would suggest to configure the minutes required for resolving an incident in
a field and either use sql query or a hidden table to count the no of records
and then multiply with value in the field

Thanks
Bala

Hi,
As
Dwayne said one way to do it is through SQL. which i am already doing it to
populate the number of open ticket against a consultants name. But not sure how
to go with the Business hours. Yes we are using Business hours and Holidays for
SLA's

LJ,
can you please eloborate a little about this. I am not able to get the concept
right. May be i not thinking the the way you are.

Rajesh,
If
you have business hours setup, you could even take the count provided below and
run it through a business time add function and take $TIMESTAMP$ as the start
and add that many min’s, that would give you a date/time that you would expect
to get to it…

Hi
Rajesh,

How about running an sql
query, eg “select count(*) from whatevertable where whateverconditions,” then
multiply that number by 20 or whatever.

Dear
List,

Am working
on a older version 6.3 patch 24 on Oracle 9i

Just got a
requirement, so thought of listing out to the experts out
here

We have a
HTML formatted mail which are being send to the end
user.

Now the
requirement is :- Say Service Desk assings the ticket to the Group A and this
Group A already have a list of ticket which are being worked upon say 10 open
tickets.

When a new
ticket comes in to this group a mail should trigger to the user saying the
ticket will be attended to in so and so time.

The
scenario is if one ticket takes approx say 20 minutes to work upon the 11th
ticket should send in a time say 11*20 i.e 220
minutes

so the end
user should get a mail saying your call will be attended in 220 minutes.(20
minutes is not a realtime figure but taking 20 minutes a becnhmark time for
resolution)

Any idea
how can this be done

With Best
Regards
Rajesh

 Thanks in advance.

Having email update a back end table, then call filter guide to check data in
 columns in table.
Need to refresh the table before filter call guide to loop thru all rows.

Hi All,

We are going to perform DB refresh of Development environment from our
Production Remedy Box.
We already have managed about the code that is not yet in Production.

Can anyone suggest some common config changes that are required after this kind
of refresh?

Vaibhav
