Here
is what you can do:

1.In the Formula Explorer window of Crystal field select the x+1
Formula Field
2.
Create a new formula (Name one start date and the other end
date)
3.
When the window opens in the bottom area insert Maximum ({value}) for the
End Date and Minimum ({value}) for the Start Date - value will be the
field from your remedy data source that has the create time and resolved
time.
4. After they are added drag and drop the new fieds to your
form.

2006-09-07 Thread Baytops, Abdullah P.
What..

I totally agree with you. This is LUDACRIS! I will definitely also
keep this is mind with the clients I do support because it is too
frustrating dealing with people who won't have a clue besides the limited
training they do receive and then expect to resolve our issues. This is
just another corporate way to save money by decreasing jobs for people right
here in the good old USA and increase their pockets. Besides the CEO only
make about 1.5 million a year he may need a little more because the market
is bad

Some things suck and only get worse as time goes forward.

Subject: I Am Outraged! - BMC/Remedy is Outsourcing Support!!
Importance: High

Hello community,

I have it on good authority from one of my contacts at BMC that they will be

starting to outsource their support to Pune, India and Dublin, Ireland very
shortly.

Am I the only one who is outraged by this?

Our company already pays an unconscionable amount of money for Remedy
Support. If they start to outsource I can guarantee you that our company
will stop paying for support altogether next year because they will be
diminishing the value of this support drastically but our maintenance fees
will not be discounted.

So THEY will be saving a ton of money by giving us compromised support but
they will not be compensating us in any way (and we just renewed our
maintenance contract before I was told of this!).

In my experience, the second most valuable thing besides the actual AR
System platform from Remedy is their support teams and infrastructure. If
BMC is going to start carving the support infrastructure up and outsourcing
it, then thay are going to lose the second most valuable pool of Remedy
professionals next to the engineers themselves.

What is BMC thinking? The executives are obviously boneheads who have NO
IDEA of the value of the Remedy AR System product line and the Remedy
support infrastructure.

I have emailed Bob Beauchamp but have not had a response from him regarding
this direction.

If we can no longer rely on the past stellar support for this product, which

is critical to us in our rapid development environment, we are going to
seriously consider moving to another development platform entirely where
they have on-site American/English speaking professionals - not underpayed
call centre (KB screen-reader) reps who have no understanding and no context

of the platform, and no relationships restricted escalation paths with the

Remedy software engineering community.

As a longtime customer, I am personally outraged by this move and I am
insulted that BMC has not contacted us nor have they solicited feedback on
this initiative.

What does everyone else think? (Please, EVERYONE chime in on this)

What can we do to get BMC to keep their existing support infrastructure and
stop them from farming out their support to people who can not even speak
clear American English?

Remedy Import

2006-08-16 Thread Baytops, Abdullah P.
Hello Everyone,
I have a little problem that is spurattic when using Remedy Import.
I am in the process of importing some data from a CSV file that has about
3000 rows and 40 columns. During the import I get the following error:

Example
Line (202) 37 fields expected only 35 fields found

When I do the same import again a few moments later with no changes and have
no problem. But every 50 or 100 records it repeats itself so I do it again
a few moments later again and it works. Has anyway else had the problem
before.

Thanks in Advance
Abdul

Re: Signal 11 - a nightmare!!

Has
anything changed within the start of this problem in the actual oracle instance
the your AR Server is using? I vaguely remember I encountered the same
problem earlier this year but it had something to Oracle and Archive_logging
mode not being set correctly.

I hope
thishelps if any.

Remedy and Tivoli Intergration

2006-08-07 Thread Baytops, Abdullah P.
Hello Everyone,
I have been successfully using the Remedy Link to Tivoli for about 4 months.
Until about 2 weeks ago it completely stopped working. Does anyone have any
information the could share in areas to troubleshoot on this issue. The
last time it actually worked was before I installed the Patch #16 on my ARS
Server and then nothing on the ARS side. I have much troubleshooting and
it seems to me its on my side and not the Tivoli product end. If any help
is out there please advise.

Thanks in advance

Re: MidTier on Linux

2006-07-25 Thread Baytops, Abdullah P.

Is the
mid-tier on the same server as the application? Is so Try to insert http://localhost/arsys/shared/config/config.jsp
. No prmoises just a try.

  MidTier on Linux**

  Greetings
  List,

  System information
  for starters:

  Database: MS SQL
  Server 2000 SP4 on Windows Server 2003
  Application:
Remedy 6.3 on Windows Server 2003
  Web: MidTier 6.3
on Windows Server 2003 with IIS6 and Servlet Exec.

  Now, onto the
  "problem".

  I've gleemed from
the list that the Win2K3/IIS6/MidTier/ServletExec combination is
rather slow. I've noticed some sluggishness myself.

  I've also seen
people mention that an Apache/Tomcat combination is
  quicker.

  Therefore, I've
stood up a Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 Update 3 server with Apache and
Tomcat. Furthermore, I've installed MidTier 7 rather than 6.3 and
pointed the install to the Application server listed
above.

  My questions
  are:

  1.) Will MT7 work
  with ARS 6.3?

  2.) Given that the
above answer is "yes", what caveats do I need to know to get MT working
  correctly with Apache/Tomcat?

  I know Apache is
working as I can see the standard test page when accessing it from another
box. The same goes for Tomcat.

  As far as
installation is concerned, apache is at /etc/httpd and tomcat is
(unfortunately at this time) is in a user's directory
  /home/user/apache-tomcat-version

  MidTier is
  installed at /usr/ar/mid-tier.

  These are all of
the configuration settings I passed into the MT7 installer script, which
  finished without errors.

  Any special
configurations I need to make to MidTier, Apache, Tomcat, or all of the
  above?

  When I attempt to
access (from the RHEL box) http://localhost/arsys/config/config.jsp
as annotated in the documentation, I get a page not found.

  I made a symbolic
link in /var/www/http/ and pointed it to the MT install home directory and
when I visit the page above, I see the JSP script in the browser
  window.

  Thanks,

Hello Listers,
We have just installed Remedy Asset Manager 6.0 on our sever and I
am looking for any information someone may have to offer on the best way to
import data into Asset Manager which is in currently in an MS Access
format. It seems that there are different forms relating to each asset type
so I need the best way to get that information to appear where it needs to
be.

Thanks in advance

Hello Listers,

Please don't scream if this has been asked in the past.

I am trying to authenticate users that need to access the Mid-tier using the
Windows Account information they use to logon into their workstations. Does
anyone have any suggestions on where to begin or where I can find useful
info. The documentation I keep finding all refers to using Windows IIS .

Thanks
