Dan,

As a long time listener (originally in the mid 90's), and not much of a
contributor (except that horrible time four years ago when I sent my resume
to the entire list by accident - still blushing), I wanted to speak for the
silent majority and say thanks to you and all of the superstars for your
passion and dedication to the ARS List. I'm glad it's moving somewhere

It's a great community and interchange! Thanks again

Re: Experience with Smart Reporting?

2016-06-22 Thread Joanne Janssen
Tauf and David,

Thanks for the reply. The product claims that you can create a formula
using an SQL based formula, but when I tried it, the report stopped
working. Also how do you do a table in a smart reports? They seem to have
a lot of graphs but no tables.

Also I don't believe that our customer is willing to spring for BMC
Analytics, though they are extremely dependent on our Crystal Reports right
now and I don't think Smart Report is going to be able to handle it.

I've watched the videos on-line. Do you know if there is any other
training available out there?

Thanks again,

Experience with Smart Reporting?

2016-06-22 Thread Joanne Janssen
Hey,

At this point I am a Remedy user/report developer, rather than a Remedy
Developer, just as a preface (they won't let me get my hands on it!). But
my question is about Smart Reporting. Has anyone used it to create
reports? We have developed some very sophisticated Crystal Reports,
however we are transitioning to Remedy 9.1 and have been told that we can
no longer use Crystal, due to security concerns. I'm trying to create some
of our simpler reports and have run into some snags.

I've created Views for our HPD:Help_Desk based reports, and used some of
the canned formulas that Remedy supplied successfully, but have not been
able to create any of our customer SQL formulas. Does anyone have any
insight into this?

Thanks

And Ben,
Thanks I put in to get the spreadsheets to compare with, but haven't gotten
the e-mail with directions yet. I'm looking forward to looking them over.

Our organization is transitioning from V7.6.4 to V8.1 and I am responsible
for a number of reports. I have been assured by the team that there are no
changes to the underlying database, but have not been given access to test
this out. Does anyone know if there are changes to field names, tables or
relationships between tables? I hate to find out on the fly.

2013-10-24 Thread Joanne Janssen
I took the BMC Administrator courses when I came back to Remedy 2 years
ago. They were good. I took them through BMC.

Re: [EXTERNAL] Re-Open Date

2013-05-29 Thread Joanne Janssen
Natalie,

Thanks for the info. I thought that what you described might be the
case, but on this contract, I am the reporting guru and (my Remedy
privileges are extremely limited) so I'm not able to see hidden fields
except by querying the database. Looks like I'll be digging through
the audit log. At least I know there is no easy way around it.

Thanks again!

Re-Open Date

2013-05-29 Thread Joanne Janssen
I'm doing some reports on the number of incidents that we re-opened,
where re-opening is defined as moving from Resolved to any open state
and not from Closed to any other state. I've looked on the web, but
can't tell and don't have access to the admin tool to check. Is
Re-opened date populated when an incident moves from Closed to an Open
state or did I get lucky and it is populated when an incident moves
from Resolved to an Open state.

Thanks in advance,

I'd also like to see it continue. I think it's great to recognize
those folks who devote so much of their free time to helping out
others. It's what brought me back to the list as soon as I started
working in Remedy again. It's a great place to be.

ARERR 191005

2012-04-20 Thread Joanne Janssen
Hey,

This is my first time posting in a long, long time, so please excuse any
awkwardness.

We are running SRM on 7.6.04 and have successfully created SRDs up until
Monday. Since Monday we are receiving an ARERR 191005 error whenever we
try to save an SRD. As far as we know nothing changed between Friday when
we were able to save the SRDs and Monday when we started getting the error.

Remedy's support site has some info on a AR IMPORT ERR 191005, but the only
info on ARERR 191005 seems to be after initial install.

Anyone encounter this or have an idea on how to resolve it?

Thanks

Joanne
