Mahendra,

You could use a SQL view for the LDAP connection and then use AIE to import.
This also solves the known issue with not being able to use date fields when
querying your vendor form.

Mahendra,

You are right.. AIE is not an option. I wasn’t thinking correctly.

John’s suggestion seems pretty good. There should be no reason why that should
not work.

Will AIE work for Ldap data structure, what should I put for mapping? External
Data to ARSystem form, right? But all the time in prior versions we used vendor
form which worked perfect.

Hi All,
I want to transfer ldap data from vendor form to staging form(regular form).
ARS version - 7.6.03, DB - MS SQL 2005
For this, I created one escalation with push field action in which it
create/modify the entries only if 'sAMAccountName' = $sAMAccountName$.
Mapped the vendor data to staging form. The issue is that escalation pushing
NULL to staging form though I can see/query the vendor form data from arsystem.
I tried the following scenarios also ---

* Created another vendor form, no luck
* Created another escalation, no luck
* Tried escalation to push vendor to another regular form, no luck
* Tried with matching ids in push field action, no luck
* tried same escalation between two regular forms where it worked
perfect, but why it not working between vendor and regular form.
* Tried with vendor form with one field only, no luck
* I know it was easy to create such transfer prior to 7.6.03, is there
any issue with this 7.6.03 version?

Help is appreciated. I am going to raise this issue with BMC Support also.

One downside to online classes is the distractions caused when
instructor/students have poor connectivity or audio/video configuration
difficulties. I experienced this during an online CMDB class in which a
couple students from Brazil were having lots of connectivity issues and
another user couldn't get her mic working. Unfortunately, the instructor
had to spend a lot of time assisting them in troubleshooting their
issues and it took away from class time.

That said, the online training was good, but certainly a bit less
interactive than onsite -- which in itself wouldn't be bad if it wasn't
the same price as onsite.

there is no option for taking an online course but only classroom? True?

I don't know if they are diminishing or just moving away from
being "BMC hosted" and being "Partner hosted." I've definitely seen a
lot more partner offerings when it comes to instructor led classroom
courses and less from BMC. However, BMC looks like it is pushing all of
the "BMC hosted" classes to a virtual classroom environment. A good
example of this is the SRM training. It is now completely all virtual
(last I checked).

For me, instructor led onsite is the way to go.

Online is advantageous in that you do not have to travel, it is
cheaper, you can work while taking the training, or sit at home and
"watch the kids" while learning.

But in my opinion, having to sit in a classroom ensures that you
dedicate 100% of your attention to what is being thought. Without the
distractions of work, family, work... (did I say work?). Also, there
are some really great instructors which don't mind staying late and
showing you some cool stuff or having their brain picked at.

Are instructor led classes diminishing?

** Hello All,
Does anyone have any preferences regarding Online BMC Training
vs. On site Instructor led training?
I have taken WBT's before and enjoy the experience of taking an
instructor led class on site, but have never done a virtual classroom
instructor led training.
My concern is that the Online BMC class won't have all the
benefits of the classroom. Thoughts anyone?

Thanks,

Having worked (for almost two and half years) in the group which has this
opening, I can tell you it's not the job that isn't real. However, it is a
moot point as this position was recently filled with someone who was up
front and honest about their development and project experience.

We have created an approval mapping record & a change template. The
Change Template has some tasks associated to it. But when I select the
change template the approval mapping does not get triggered. But If I
manually create a change with the EXACT same categories it works. Then
I created a change and manually selected the categories & manually added
one task. Then I moved the change out of draft and the approval mapping
did not trigger. I created a template that with the correct categories
& no task templates and the approvals triggered. Why are the approvals
not triggering if there are tasks associated to the change before it
leaves draft?

Can anyone tell me what I might be doing wrong or is this a "feature"?
