KRM 7.5 & FTS Installation

2010-10-02 Thread Moe Abdelaziz
I attempted to install RKM 7.5 and it failed because I am running Tomcat
6.0.29. I managed to add a "Server" folder and copy the lib folder in it
and the RKM installer picked it up and proceeded. However, after the
installer was done, I was unable to log into FTS ssAdmin.

I had to revert back my VM and restart the installation and this time, I
followed all the instructions on the RKM installation guide to avoid the
port conflict for Tomcat and still gave me the same results. By the way,
all the log files were free of errors or exceptions.

Has anyone encountered this before? Is there a work around or some sort of
configuration that I missed in order to avoid the Tomcat port conflict?
What’s the efficient installation of RKM in my situation given the below
configuration? Can I just install RKM and the AR integration on the mid-
tier and leverage the perfectly working instance of Hammingbird on the App
server?

Current Environment:

1- APPSERVER running

•Win 2003 Enterprise 32-bit

•AR 7.5.006

•ITSM 7.6.001 (AM, CM, IM, PM, RM, and SLM)

•Hammingbird SearchServer 6.1 with its own embedded tomcat instance

•AtriumCore CMDB 7.6.001 with its own embedded tomcat instance for web
services

•BMC Dashboard 7.6

2- DBSERVER running

•Win 2003 Enterprise 32-bit

•MS SQL 2005 Enterprise patch 003

3- WEBSERVER running

•Win 2003 Enterprise 32-bit

•Tomcat 6.0.29 separate instance

•Mid-tier 7.5.006 on port 8080

Any ideas or thoughts would be highy appreciated.

Thanks,

RKM 7.5 Installation

2010-09-27 Thread Moe Abdelaziz
Is RKM 7.5 compatible with tomocat 6.x or 7.x? I have been trying to
install RKM 7.5 on tomocat 6 or 7 and so far no luck.

Current environment:
- Appserver Win 2003, Hammingbird with SearchServer 6.1 with embedded
tomocat 5.5, AR 7.5.006 and ITSM 7.6.001
- DBserver SQL 2005
- Webserver Win 2003 hosting the mid-tier running one instance of tomcat
6.x for the mid-tier on port 8080 and another instance of tomcat 7.x for
SLM collection points on port 7089.

I am trying to find the most efficient type of installation for my
environemnt. The RKM Installation Guide says that I can install RKM web
app on the mid tier, searchserver on a remote location and AR Integrations
for RKM on a nother remote location. I attempted to do that, but RKM
doesn't recognize either tomcat 6 or 7.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

LDAP Authentication on AR 7.5.005

2010-09-21 Thread Moe Abdelaziz
We disabled the "Allow Guest User" and "Give Guest User Restricted Read"
options on the AR configurations form. Surprisingly, if a user type
his/her login with a mix case, but uses the correct password, he/she is
granted access to the system but as a guest user. However, when using the
correct login but incorrect password, the user is dined access and cannot
log-in.

Has anyone encountered this issue before? I am suspecting that this has to
do with LDAP being case insensitive.

Current environment:
ARS 7.5.005
ITSM 7.6.001
Oracle 10.2
Win 2003 x64

Thanks,
Mohamed Abdelaziz

Hammingbird SearchServer Installation

2010-08-15 Thread Moe Abdelaziz
Are there any installation documenatations for the Hammingbird
SearchServer 6.1?

Current environment:
Win2k3 SP2 Appserver
Win2k3 SP2 SQL 2005 DBserver
Win2k3 SP2 with Tomcat 6.0 Webserver mid-tier

Should hammingbird be installed on the webserver or the appserver? I am
planning on installing RKM and SRM on the webserver mid-tier environment.

Please if you have any installation docs or steps to follow to properly
install Hammingbird, let me know.

Thanks.

AR 8.0 & Abydos Analyser 5.0

2010-07-03 Thread Moe Abdelaziz
Is anyone aware if Dev Studio 8.0 will have the same or partial
functionalities of the current functionalities that are being provided by
Abydos Analyser 5.0?

I heard from a BMC rep that Dev Studio will able to provide exactly the
same functionalities that Abydos Analyser currently provide. For some
reason I don't believe that.

When is the expected release date of AR 8.0?

Thanks.
