OT:Experienced Remedy Developer looking for Remote HelpDesk, Admin, Developer position
Listers, Sorry for the intrusion, but I'm looking for a remote Developer, Admin, even HelpDesk position, I don't care which. My wife is a Travelling Nurse and I need a permanent (preferred) position to accomodate her profession. I'm flexible on rate/salary, since as long as I have an income, I will be able to stay married. I could really use something by July 13, 2009. Contact me offline for resume, references, etc. Thank you in advance. -- Best Regards, Steve Casey casey.st...@gmail.com spc_...@yahoo.com ___ UNSUBSCRIBE or access ARSlist Archives at www.arslist.org Platinum Sponsor:rmisoluti...@verizon.net ARSlist: Where the Answers Are
Re: Problem installing CMDB on Japanese server
Rick, Are you installing from a disc? Did you try copying to the HD and running from there? I only mention this as I've seen similar errors when installing from disc, not just Remedy but other apps as well. Don't know if it'll fix it, but hey, might be worth a shot. hth On Tue, Jun 2, 2009 at 2:09 PM, Rick Cook remedyr...@gmail.com wrote: ** I don't really expect any replies, but you never know. Re: Problem installing CMDB on Japanese server
Is there any reason you cannot install the Japanese version itself right on the Japanese server without doing the English first? I know that when I was doing bug fixes for 7.5, everything was very touchy. I was working on some graphical items, and if I changed Japanese views and was not on a Japanese server, it corrupted the database. It shouldn't do that on version 6 I wouldn't think. Is there any firewalling s/w on the system, like McAfee? On Tue, Jun 2, 2009 at 5:09 PM, Rick Cook remedyr...@gmail.com wrote: ** No, I am installing with downloads from BMC Support. Re: ARS 7.0.0 patch 2 problem
well, it's a .dll so it's be a windows box. I'd try using oraload before the install. If you have issues, it will be apparent using oraload. Search for the executable in the extracted installation files. Remedy uses this to install. ___ UNSUBSCRIBE or access ARSlist Archives at www.arslist.org Platinum Sponsor: www.rmsportal.com ARSlist: Where the Answers Are
Re: ITSM 7 MidTier Install
Yes, I know exactly what's going on. If you check the mid-tier logs, you'll find exceptions caused by some strange timezone in Canada (or someplace else). You'll need to go to the timezone directory on the mid- tier server, and copy a good timezone.js to the timezone.js that it's complaining about. That'll resolve your issue. hth ___ UNSUBSCRIBE or access ARSlist Archives at www.arslist.org ARSlist:Where the Answers Are

** I ran into that issue on RHLinux against Oracle 10g. I believe it was bugged. The workaround I had was to create a filter setting the html field with the value of the text on the ArSystem Email Messages form, and hiding the text field. Seemed to work ok. hth -- Best Regards,Steve Caseycasey.steveatgmail.com __20060125___This posting was submitted with HTML in it___
Re: ARServer 7.0p1/ARAdmin 7.0p1 - Objects not showing in Admin Tool
Axton, Would you, by chance, be logging in with an RPC port specified? I had some issues creating forms and fields when specifying one in my Accounts section. When I tried to create a new form, I'd get the message Form01 does not exist on the server, and the window would close. I'd check the Form list, and it wouldn't be there, but if I did a 'F5', it would refresh and display 'Form01'. I was then able to change the name of the form. When I created fields, let's say 5 new ones, and tried to save the form, I'd get unable to save/update form error. I would try to save 5 times (one for each field added)and would get the error every time, but the 6th time it would save fine. Turning off the specified rpc port during login resolved the issues. hth SPARC Solaris9 Oracle 9i ARS 7 ___ UNSUBSCRIBE or access ARSlist Archives at http://www.wwrug.org
Installing ARS 7 on SPARC Solaris - Issue and resolution
All, I thought I'd share my recent experiences installing ARS 7 on SPARC Solaris. ARS 7 was built on the Oracle 10g 32-bit libraries. Unfortunately Oracle does not have a 32-bit 10g client for SPARC Solaris. They do have one for x86 Solaris, but it will not work. (Which leaves me to wonder how they certified this on this platform to start with). If you attempt to install with the standard 64-bit 10g client, you'll get error messages similar to the following: 'ld.so.1: arserverd: fatal: /usr/local/oracle/product/10.2.0/lib/libnnz10.so: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64' In order to have the installation complete, I downloaded the Oracle Instantclient from Oracle.com, along with all the add-ons. I extracted the instant client at the same level as the Oracle 10g client: /usr/local/oracle/product/10.2.0 /usr/local/oracle/product/instantclient I then copied all the 'lib*' files from the instantclient directory to the /usr/local/oracle/product/10.2.0/lib directory, and re-ran the install. The installation completed without errors. It may be possible to just use the 'Instantclient' instead of the full- blown 10g client. I haven't tested yet, but theoreticaly, it should work. Hope this helps someone save some time and effort. ___ UNSUBSCRIBE or access ARSlist Archives at http://www.wwrug.org
