Is there a Remedy User Group in Ohio? If so what are the details to

this up and having Kforce as a sponsor?

Macro Question

2007-04-02 Thread Sullivan, Neil G CTR USAF AFRL/SNOD
AR System 7.0.0, Windows 2003, and MSSql 2005

I am running a macro that performs two different queries and combines
the results into a template via DDE. My customers are complaining about
the no matching entries boxes that appear during the macro. My
question is where do I place the command for no matching entries or
suppress empty lists within the macro. I've tried it after the query,
but that doesn't seem to work.

Any help would be appreciated.

yes, run an escalation that sends a message to the user. Run If

I have been searching for a password management solution and found a
document detailing how you can implement your own rules for expiration
and so on, but it requires you to modify your User form. We ran into a
couple of issues with added fields on the User and Group forms when we
upgraded to ARS 7.0 and am a little leery making modifications for fear
of future upgrade problems. Does anyone have any feelings on this?

Does anyone know of an ARS 7.0 compatible utility for password
management? I need to force our users to set a password since most of
them do not currently have one set.

Is there a way prompt users to change or set their password?
Most of our users do not have passwords at all and we would like to
force them to create one. I have not found a way to do this from reading
the documentation and the cross-reference is not an option for us. I
could set a temporary password for all users and ask them to change it
on their next login, but I can't find a way to enforce this. Has anyone
done something similar to this?

Outgoing Email with Attachment

Since upgrading to version 7, I can no longer send attachments via a

I can get the message record created, but don't know how to add the

Server Alias

2007-02-12 Thread Sullivan, Neil G CTR USAF AFRL/SNOD
We recently changed the hostid on our server and purged the licenses to
the new hostid, but my users are getting the following error if I enter
the new hostname in the server alias field.

ARERR [8760] Cannot establish a network connection to the AR System

failed - No such hostname.

Where I have server name alias is the name I see when I go to File -
Server information in the Remedy Administrator tool. This is not the
hostname of our current remedy server. It is the name of the old remedy
server. I tried to change the name from the Remedy Administrator tool
which it let me do, but when I try to log in after restarting the
service, I get this error from Remedy Administrator:

This version of the Action Request System(R) is ready for us eor
evaluation without purchasing or activating an authorization key. For
unlimited capabilities, contact your sales representative or visit
www.remedy.com.
(ARERR 2877)
server alias I have changed to / current hostname

Under C:\Program Files\Common Files\AR System\Licenses there is a folder
with the old hostname. Do we need to reapply the licenses after chaning
the server alias? Will this fix the original error that it cannot
connect to the Plug-In server?

It sounds like you still have something in your system referencing the
old alias. Can you look in the ar.cfg file and see if it has the old
alias listed. You should see a C:\Program Files\Common Files\AR
System\Licenses\newAlias folder. If not you can create one and copy the
files from the oldAlias into it. You may need to also edit the
armonitor.cfg file and make sure it also has the new alias name in it.

Yes. We change it and restarted the services. After logging in and
going to the server properties, the license file showed only 3 licenses,
but when we reset everything, the licenses appear and everything works,
EXCEPT we can't open Vendor forms.
