ardbc file system plugin for version 7

Hi All,
 
Has anyone createdor worked on ardbc file system plugin for version 7?
I found one knowledge base article on BMC Support ,where one plugin was 
attached but that is for version 5.0.

URL to Open the service request

Dear Lister,
 
Just to confirm that,can we have URL for any specific service request which 
will take user after clicking on it to Service Request(SRM:Request) form filled 
with the details of the service request?
 
I had tried but no success.
 
I have found one article on knowledge base, where it is written that 
Currently the only way to access SRM 2.x is through the Request Entry console, 
there are no other access methods.
 
Anyone have a different opinion on this.

I'm not sure if I understand, but I am currently developing ARUtilities
7.5 which has the ability to export images from the AR System,
individually or bulk. Also ARUtilities 7.5 allows you to bulk import
images as well. Is this the type of utility you are looking for?

Import utilities for importing bulk images

Any of you have a knowledge about any such utilities which can be used for 
importing the bulk images on ar system.
 
I need to change the images across the ITSM application, doing manually will 
take too much time so looking any utilities.

I am getting an error while submiiting a request or change request in SRM 
through midtier.
Ther error is Value does not fall within the limit specified for the field : 
Maximum length 38;179(ARERR306).

This is a known issue and BMC has a hot fix (Defect # SW00320173) for it. The 
error occurs when there are any special characters in the question responses.

Server gets restarted at regular Mon Nov 03terval of time. 

  

Mostly
tickets were logged to the remedy through web services. 700 users are
concurrently logged Mon Nov 03to the remedy system and on an average 40,000
tickets are logged every day.

Server Crash, web services heave usage of get list operation

Hello Listers,

At one of client site AR Server get crashed.
Environment is ARS 7.0.1, Database ORACLE 10 g OS- Solaris, Midtier 7.0.1

Server was crashed at regular interval of time 3 weeks back but afterwards 
crashed stopped.

The volume of tickets logged into remedy is around 30 thousands per day. 90% of 
tickets are logged through web services.

please help me out as it becomes very critical.

Tomcat crashing

Tomcat is crashing after 2 hours of interval.
 
The error is
 

It causes Shutdown Tomcat. 

 

It’s a  Approval Run Process Command. (Sig-Approvaed).

You have to set up the UNIX environment properly.  The install script

We have to upgrade the ARS as unicode then who is responsible for

upgrading database to unicode supported.

I mean BMC provides any document or white paper about how the DATABASE

is upgraded to unicode.

  I am getting error while sending outgoing mail from AR Email messages form. 
For your information the java I am using is certified.
   
  The error is attached.
   
  The environment details are as follow.
   
  AR Server 7.0.01 patch 6
  OS Windows 2003
  Database: MS SQL 2005

  Tomcat 5.5
  Email Engine 7
  SSL enabled on mail server so for incoming and outgoing the port is 465 and 
995.
  Mail client is lotus.

Regarding SRM

Has anyone implemented combination of Approval Process
  (Management Chain, Level) for Service Request Management 2.0 ?
  
It works if either of them is used. But if i try to implement both Processes it 
does NOT work. According, to the Lunch Scheduler Example in the pdf these two 
Approval Processes are implemented by hard coding them.
   
  Is it right to hard code the Approval Process ?

Query regarding SRM

Hi All,
   
  I am using BMC Remedy Service Request Management 2.0(SRM).The service request 
has a Work Order template as its backend application.
  The approval process that I need to use for the approval of a service request 
is a combination of Service Request-Level and Service Request Management Chain. 
Also the approval process is at Group level and not Individual level.
  The approval process works fine either with Service Request-Level alone or 
Service Request management Chain alone. The combination is not working properly.
  I have total five approvers. Out of which 2 are in Management Chain and 
remaining 3 are in Level approval process.
   The status flow of the service request for Service Request management Chain 
should be-
  Begin-Waiting Approval
  Approved-Planning
  Rejected-Rejected
  Pending-Pending
  This status flow is getting followed properly. But the Status flow given 
below is not getting followed.i.e. The service request goes into the Planning 
stage when the approvers defined for it in Management Chain approval process 
approves it. The service request does not appear in the Approval Central 
Console of the members using Level approval process.
  The status flow of the service request for Service Request-Level should be-
  Begin- Planning,Approved-In Progress,Rejected-Rejected,Pending-Pending

Open the regular form in new mode after login

  I am facing an issue please help me in this.
  
I have a regular form of which I have created 5 views, out of which one form 
view 
   
  is for the requester. The requester has the read license.
  
Now, I want that when the requester will login ,instead of the home page, the 
   
  requester console(form view of the main regular form) should open directly, 
that 
   
  too in new mode. i.e the requester should be able to view the requester 
console 
   
  and submit the request.

How to save the login id on login page using Mid Tier 7.0

Hi All,
  I am using Mid Tier 7.0, and I want to implement the 
functionality which saves the login name of the user in the login page. The 
functionality should work similar to “Remember my login Id” on any web site. 
  Can any one have any suggestions. I think this can be done through cookies 
but I don’t know from where I can enable the cookies.

How to automate backup functionality.

Hi friends
  I want to create the data backup functionality which will take 
the data backup after particular time interval regularly. And if the data is 2 
months old then, it should delete from the production server and move the data 
onto backup server. Right now I am using AR Utility for taking data backup for 
the selected forms as it is a locale application. And I am shifting the data on 
the backup server.  
  I have tried the archive functionality of the AR System. But it 
takes the backup on the same server. And I am trying to take backup on 
different server. And while using the archive functionality it takes the backup 
for all the record every time. 
  Please let me know if anyone has any suggestions.

manager or none are available. Select from the menus, then notify your 
administrator. (ARERR 144012).
