Tomcat issue

2015-05-05 Thread teresa S Fannin
To all the great minds out there,
We are using Business Objects 4.1 which we understand does not work with IIS
so we are trying to use Apache Tomcat version 7 to set up https:
Http works fine but can't get https to work. We added redirection to 8443 in
the server.xml file but that still does not work we can't display the web
page. We do have the mid-tier 8.1.02 installed on the BO server as well.
This server is windows 8.
Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

Half the screen is missing.

2015-05-01 Thread teresa S Fannin
Has anyone else experienced this? In 8.1.0 when some of our uses login to
ITSM and they go to create an Incident and the display has everything in it
Except the Tabs are not displaying at all. They can still create a ticket if
they use the quick links to create their Operational Cats and Product Cats.
The process bar is still there but the tabs that go under that are missing.
We have tried to recreate the people record and that has worked for some but we
still have others that it is not working for. We just went live this last
weekend.

2015-04-05 Thread teresa S Fannin
Yes, I did and the web services work if no error is encountered For example
one web service searches for people record to exist and if does it returns
The PPL of the user. If the user does not exist then it returns the error
http/1.1.500 Internal Server Error Content ="text/html"
and not the 302 error.
Thanks,
Teresa

In windows the host id is the MAC address and you see the hexadecimal string in

Where did you read the hosted is the Mac address?
Type "hostid" on linux or sparc you will see a hexadecimal string
You need to convert this into decimal and you'll get the hostid you see in the
license console.
Your clone must a perfect clone using the hostid.
I would say this is not good but not a problem you need to change the hostid
which is stored in a file under / somewhere. Google for it and you'll find the
answer ;-)

Hi all -

I have a dumb problem. I can't get Tomcat to work with IIS on Windows Server
2008 R2. This is with a completely vanilla install of Remedy ARS 8.1 using SQL
server.

The install went fine, there was no problem I could see.

I've uninstalled and re-installed the mid-tier several times. I've checked all
of the connectors I could find on the tomcat side and the virtual directory
stuff on the IIS side. The jakarta virtual directory exists, and all of the
registry settings and file configurations look right.

IIS responds to normal requests - but any request to the virtual directory just
doesn't work.

The default URL to configure the MT is this:

http://localhost:8080/arsys/shared/config/config.jsp

Localhost resolves correctly to the local machine - for kicks I have tried the
actual machine name too, with the same results.

I feel like I am missing something really obvious here...but I haven't worked
with Windows/IIS in ages.

I know this is vague...but... thoughts?

B.

version 5.5.34. I can start tomcat with Local System as the service account.
I can't start tomcat with service account name. This use to work but we had
to change the Domain name of the service account and now I have the problem of
not being able to start tomcat.I attempts to start but then I get the error
that Windows could not start tomcat on local computer.
The configuration for tomcat has the correct domain/service account name.
Also in the ar.cfg file for the Db User: I had to set the new domain name.
The Windows SA are telling that something in tomcat or the Mid tier must have a
reference to the old Domain name.

We are on version 7.1 ( going to 8.1 soon). The SLA Service Target Status
colors don't' update except for once a day. I did recently have to add a
24x7 available time entity to all my SLAs and OLAs as a work around for a time
issue with the date 1/1/1970.
Since the workaround all the times show up correctly, but now the Service
Target Status indicator status is gray until the next day and then it will be
fine. Also the Fields Next Target Date is blank and the SLM Status is equal
to No Service Target Assigned. I thought the target status use to update
every 5 minutes. After Midnight the ones for today will be corrected.
Anybody seen this behavior?

You didn't say what version ARS server you are running. As of 7 (I think it

If you can get into the server (with either Mid-Tier or the User tool) open the

Dave,
We just had this problem. It has to do with the binding order of the NICs.
We had to turn off a NIC and then restart Remedy so the correct mac address
would be used. And then turn on the other NICs after that.We have had
several restarts since then and the binding order seems to be correct now.
Have to determine which NIC has the correct Mac address for your licenses.

Well, either there is a huge conspiracy that involved wholesale changes to

I'm going with the conspiracy. Nah, just kidding. Must have been something I

Doug M was in that session and maybe he can go into more detail.

Subject: Adding status reason column to overview console

Hi Guys,

I have read articles in developer communities etc on how to do this but am
still having trouble. This will be long winded but hopefully I can get some
help on how to add status reason to overview console (incident to start with).
We are running with 7.6.03 (no patch) sql database on windows.

1. Ensure that status reason exists on template form ( I went with Help
Desk Status_Reason with field ID of 100150

[cid:image002.png@01CE6821.309EB540]

2. Add if not there, a record on the ARDBC Fields form for the mapping

[cid:image003.png@01CE6821.DE495380]

3. Added column for status reason (I added both consolidated status
reason and status reason as I was experimenting with both and made sure
permissions were given

4. Killed plugin and eventually restarted arservice but nothing turns up
under status reason.
Any thoughts would be very much appreciated!

I had this same error and I had to go to armonitor file and set C:\Program

I at least got past the Failed to initialize JRE and internal java module

WSDL and view the URL I get prompted to login in. Aren't you suppose to see
the XML code? I don't mean to get in the middle of your problem but wondered
if the same happens to you after changing armonitor file.

A few versions back I ran into an issue where exports were missing either the
first or last record, but that's about it.

The import tool has been reliable in my experience - with both csv and arx

I never had this problem, but I wonder if the import tool is encountering some
sort of a end of file character in between the file and stops processing after
that, hence no error.

Has anyone ever experienced the following problem. I have created an .ARX file
in which I am using the Remedy import tool to import data into a custom form.
I have also created a .CSV of the information as well in which it tell me it
has 19k records in the csv file. When I import using the remedy import it
always stops less than the amount of file on the sheet and in the .arx file.
It also says all records were imported with no error but I now because the
sheet has 19k rows it really hasnt imported all the files.

Does anyone have any idea what could be happening or provide any additional
assistance.
