Did this question get posted?

We did not install the plugin originally, how can we do that now? Do we
have to reinstall?

It's not accepting any manual entry. I can type in the value
ARSYS.ARDBC.LDAP but nothing happens when I press Tab or Enter. When I
click the Create button I receive this message No table name specified.
Please specify a table name for this form. (ARERR 2902).

Re: ARDBC.LDAP Not Available as Vendor Form - ARS 7.0.1 Patch 1 - RESOLVED (partially)

2007-02-15 Thread Heider, Stephen
I entered ARSYS.ARDBC.LDAP in the Available Vendor Names box, then copy/pasted
the value from the Available Vendor Tables located on the ARS 6.3 server
ldap://LDAPSERVER/DC=pbsj,DC=com??sub?(objectclass=user) and clicked the Load
button.

However the ARSYS.ARDBC.LDAP option does not stick. I have to enter it every
time I need to create a new Vendor form. This is not a major issue but I
consider this to be a bug. On the ARS 6.3 server I can see about 50 Vendor
Tables when I select the ARSYS.ARDBC.LDAP Vendor Name.

I searched the ARS 7.x pdfs and a few pdfs from BMC's site and also Google but
did not find any reference for having to manually enter the Vendor Name and
Vendor Table. In the Integrating-700.pdf on page 466 step 5 is Select a vendor
name, for example, ARSYS.ARDBC.LDAP, in the Available Vendor Names field.

Do others consider this a bug? If so, I will report it to our support vendor
who will in turn report it to BMC.

Thanks.

Stephen

Re: ARDBC.LDAP Not Available as Vendor Form - ARS 7.0.1 Patch 1

2007-02-15 Thread Heider, Stephen
Carey,

I think ARDBC LDAP is configured properly. I can open the LDAP Vendor
form I was able to eventually create and query records from Active
Directory.

I just noticed another oddity. When I first bring up the Create a
Vendor Form screen, enter ARSYS.ARDBC.LDAP and
ldap://LDAPSERVER/DC=pbsj,DC=com??sub?(objectclass=user) then click
the Load button I receive this message The specified plug-in does not
exist. (ARERR 8755).

After researching I found that in order to get this to work I had to
first click the Create button - which displays another error message.
Then I can click the Load button and it works.

I have switched on every log file with the greatest detail and activated
SQL Profiler (SQL Server 2005). Nothing unusual stands out.

In the schema_vendor table there are additional Vendor entries that also
do not show up on the Create a Vendor Form screen:

vendorName tableName
ARSYS.ARDBC.REPORT Report
ARSYS.ARDBC.CONFIGFILE @

At this point I am not sure what could be the issue. The installation
was straightforward - install ARS server, then mid-tier, then Admin,
then User, then configure AREA LDAP, then configure ARDBC LDAP.

Because of the numerous bugs that have already been discovered in ARS
7.x it's difficult to determine what could be mis-configured on my end.
I would rather the issue be on my end because then I wouldn't have to
wait until BMC popped out another patch.

Stephen,

Have you properly configured the plugin config form? (Via the User
Tool) If not then I have seen all plugins not be listed in the
Create a Vendor form dialog in the Admin Tool.

Verify that all of those settings look correct, and that you supplied
the correct password.

You can turn on the server Plugin Logs and turn the plugin level up
to all to see what is really going on.

It's not accepting any manual entry. I can type in the value
ARSYS.ARDBC.LDAP but nothing happens when I press Tab or Enter. When I
click the Create button I receive this message No table name specified.
Please specify a table name for this form. (ARERR 2902).

If I remember correctly the first time you go to create a vendor form
you have to type in the Available Vendor Name (ARSYS.ARDBC.LDAP).

Subject: ARDBC.LDAP Not Available as Vendor Form - ARS 7.0.1 Patch 1

After completely uninstalling ARS 7.0.0, and subsequently removing ARS
folders from a test server (Windows Server 2003), I installed ARS 7.0.1
Patch 1 including Mid-Tier 7.0.1 Patch 1 and the installation went
without error. During the server installation I selected AREA LDAP,
ARDBC LDAP, and Web Services Plugin. We are not using SSL.

I configured AREA LDAP (with cross ref blank passwords) and can login
using my network credentials (Active Directory).

I then configured ARDBC LDAP (uses the same network account as AREA to
query LDAP).

In the Administrator Tool (7.0.1 patch 1) I select the option to create
a new Vendor Form. There are only two available selections:
REMEDY.ARDBC.FLASHBOARD.FORM and REMEDY.ARDBC.SERVER.ADMINISTRATION. No
LDAP option available. I have tried a number of things and have
restarted the server several times. I have not discovered any errors in
the plugin log or the error log file.

On our ARS 6.3 system the ARDBC LDAP Vendor form is listed as
ARSYS.ARDBC.LDAP. I am using the same settings and accounts on the ARS
6.3 server and the ARS 7.0.1 Patch 1 server.

How can I get the LDAP Vendor form option to display?

Here is an excerpt from the ar.cfg file:
