Minor correction... Passwords are case sensitive in Oracle 11, that's a new feature. If you're using a named instance use a different port number than 1433. Changes on the MS-SQL server have been far more inconsistent with previously adhered conventions when it comes to case sensitivity while logging in. Oracle has been far more consistent at every version / patch change since I've known Oracle since about 1998. Even with the current version of Oracle, the default is that the login user name and password is not case sensitive.. Check the install.log file found in the /etc directory if on Unix or the Temp directory of windows if on Windows.. You might get some more information there..
