Re: Help with ODBC driver with ARS client 7.1 and Win 7 (fixed)
Thank you very much to everyone that provided ideas for me to try. Special thanks to Kim who provided this fix. It did exactly what I wanted to. If you are using the 64 bit version – you can try this to configure the ODBC driver. It worked for our 64 bit Vista and 7 installs. Go to C:\Windows\SysWOW64 and right click on odbcad32.exe and run as administrator. This lets you enter the server. Re: Help with ODBC driver with ARS client 7.1 and Win 7
Try to create your own ODBC, which would fix the direction hopefully. Re: Help with ODBC driver with ARS client 7.1 and Win 7
The compatibility matrix for 7.1 only mentions support for XP and Vista. You should try the 7.5 user tool. That is supported for Windows 7 and will work against a 7.1 server. Make sure you are not on 64-bit Windows as the ODBC driver is 32-bit only. Re: Client 7.1
Just an FYI, I am having the same issue after upgrading our DEV environment to ARS 7.1 Patch 1 on Sun Solaris. Surprisingly, when talking to BMC support, I was assigned a new defect number which should be resolved in Patch 3. I would have thought after seeing this on this list that it would have been reported. Has anyone else reported this and received a defect number? In any case, defect number is SW00287847. Also of note, if the Support console is accessed via recent forms, it works fine as well. It only seems to happen as noted below when opening the object list window. -Rob ARS 6.3 on Sun Solaris 9 Oracle 9ir2v7 -Original Message- From: Some user [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, February 07, 2008 1:03 AM Subject: Re: Client 7.1 Hi, I have the same issue with Remedy User 7.1 using the Remedy Support Console from ITSM v5.6 : ITSM v5.6 installed on ARS v5.1.2 : - If I open Support console from object list using User 7.1 : crash - If I open Support console from object list using User 7.0.1 : OK - If I open Support console from Remedy Start Page using User 7.1 : OK - If I open Support console from Remedy Start Page using User 7.0.1 : OK ITSM v5.6 installed on ARS v7.1 : - If I open Support console from object list using User 7.1 : crash - If I open Support console from object list using User 7.0.1 : OK - If I open Support console from Remedy Start Page using User 7.1 : OK - If I open Support console from Remedy Start Page using User 7.0.1 : OK I tried to install AR User v7.1 P1 : same issue. Hey Tai, I have that client with ARS 6.03 patch 21 without any problems. Connecting to 3 servers and just tried opening all 3 consoles. No crash.
