Re: Help with ODBC driver with ARS client 7.1 and Win 7 (fixed)

2010-01-27 Thread David Levenseller
Thank you very much to everyone that provided ideas for me to try.
Special thanks to Kim who provided this fix. It did exactly what I
wanted to.

If you are using the 64 bit version – you can try this to configure
the ODBC driver. It worked for our 64 bit Vista and 7 installs.

Go to C:\Windows\SysWOW64 and right click on odbcad32.exe and run as
administrator. This lets you enter the server.

Hello,

Is anyone out there running the ARS User Client 7.1.00 with Windows 7?
I was able to get it installed ok but I can't seem the get the ODBC
driver to work.

I want to install Crystal Reports 10 so I can run reports again. I
worked back when I had Vista.

 Any thoughts or suggestions?

 Thanks

Try to create your own ODBC, which would fix the direction hopefully.

The compatibility matrix for 7.1 only mentions support for XP and
Vista. You should try the 7.5 user tool. That is supported for
Windows 7 and will work against a 7.1 server.

Make sure you are not on 64-bit Windows as the ODBC driver is 32-bit only.

Re: Client 7.1

2008-02-19 Thread Robert Tripp
Just an FYI,

I am having the same issue after upgrading our DEV environment to ARS
7.1 Patch 1 on Sun Solaris.

Surprisingly, when talking to BMC support, I was assigned a new defect
number which should be resolved in Patch 3. I would have thought after
seeing this on this list that it would have been reported. Has anyone
else reported this and received a defect number?

In any case, defect number is SW00287847.

Also of note, if the Support console is accessed via recent forms, it
works fine as well. It only seems to happen as noted below when opening
the object list window.

Remedy Client 7.1 not caching?

As anybody noticed that the new Remedy Client version 7.1 does not used
the cache files?

I noticed a poor performance when I opened a form in Remedy client 7.1. I
checked the home directory and I saw that the cache file associated to the

form is refreshed each time I open the form. I also generated an API log
file and I saw ARGetSchema API called each time I opened the form.

This problem does not occur with Remedy client 7.0.1 patch 4.
