Re: Install 7.6.4

2011-09-23 Thread Walters, Mark
The Email Engine has three options for incoming mail on Windows - POP3, IMAP
and MAPI.

MAPI is only available for Exchange so you have the choice of POP33 or IMAP -
your mail server admins should be able to advise which one to use. The choice
of protocol and mailbox are all done within the application, you don't have to
specify this at install time.

We are un 64Bit Windows 2008. When installing the Email Engine to work with
Lotus Notes - which protocol should I use? The install guide has info for MS
Exchange, however we are using Lotus Notes. Where would I find info to install
7.6.4 to work with Lotus Notes?

Should I install the Email Server later?

We are installing the latest JRE before we start the install and setting the
environment variables.

Re: Install 7.6.4

2011-09-22 Thread Pargeter, Christie :CO IS
You should be able to install the Email Engine and then configure it
later. That is what I normally do even with an Exchange Mail server.

Re: Install 7.6.4

2011-09-22 Thread John Doe
Yep Kevin is correct.  If it is MS SQL Server then your dba's are probably
creating this user and password prior to you install.  They will grant this
user certain permissions etc.  Therefore, when you install ARS you will need to
use this same user and password when specifying your database information.
ARAdmin and the pass AR#Admin# are the default out of the box entries for the
installer. :-)
Hope this helps
