Mobile solutions for Remedy ARS/ITSM

2014-10-01 Thread Terri Lockwood
I've been told to research what our options are for a mobile solution for our
service desk. Starting with the experts here! What tools are you using and
what have your experiences been?

2014-10-01 Thread Sanford, Claire
Someone in the last month or so sent me an email regarding a mobile application
for Remedy and it looked great and was not as expensive as some I have seen. I
have gone through my email and was not able to find it. I just recently had a
"forced" archive and am bouncing back and forth between my current email and my
new archive.

If you sent it (it was an Orange/Blue/Black graphically challenged application)
please send me the info again. I showed it to someone at work was they loved
it, but the colors were not to their liking... gsh!

Well, Remedy can be designed to have a specific Web view for mobile devices. I
would create a custom, simplified view for the Web in mobile devices.

Re: Mobile solutions for Remedy ARS/ITSM

2014-10-02 Thread Jason Miller
Since we heavily rely on Citrix that has been able to provide mobility in
place of Remedy-specific app for mobility. A number of users enjoy using
the User Tool where we still support it and/or IE for our ITSM 8.1 stuff
delivered by the Citrix Receiver. Of course this is not true mobility as
it does not provide push notifications and offline capabilities however we
have little need for those in our environment.

rMobility for ITSM is an end-user facing mobile web solution (works on desktop
browsers too). Info at http://www.raptek.com/rmobility/ (screenshots, plus a
live demo site).

It's white, blue and orange...so maybe a bit "graphically challenged" ;)
depending on tastes I suppose.

Our goal is to offer a very reasonably priced solution that does the very basic
functionality that an end user needs, rather than a comprehensive, complex and
infinitely customizable solution. So it may or may not be what you need for
your requirements.

BMC SmartIT, BMC MyIT, Mobile Reach and Kinetic Data (with the Responsive
bundle) are other mobile solutions that are worth comparing as the each offer
different features and approaches.

I second looking into the MyIT and SmartIT for mobile. MyIT is more customer
facing and more mature than SmartIT, but SmarIT is what BMC is going to for the

That is assuming you are playing the ITSM game (granted the requester asked
