Re: Blackberry Integration with Remedy

2010-08-31 Thread Arner, Todd
Column IT has a new product called Column Airwaves for mobile
connectivity. I have not used it but it may be worth a look. We have
used Aeroprise in the past but our experience was not positive. Because
of all the pieces involved, I would highly recommend trialing any
product in your environment before committing to it.

Need some suggestions for an application that allows interaction with
Remedy via end-user Blackberry's / smart phones. We have seen a demo of
AlarmPoint but that may be (dare I say) too robust for what we want. If
anyone has hints or suggestions please let me know.

The only thing I've seen are web based apps and I wasn't too impressed.
Someone could make a fortune developing a native iPhone Remedy app though.

Re: Blackberry

2009-09-11 Thread Mayfield, Andy L.
I was finally able to get it to attempt to login, but I received similar
messages. To get as far as I did, I had to change the browser setting to allow
java script and I changed my default browser emulation to Internet Explorer. If
this actually works correctly on 7.5 mid-tier, that would be awesome.

Maybe someone with a pure 7.5 install (and nothing else to do) can let us know
if they have any luck.

Re: Blackberry

2009-09-11 Thread Jason Miller
We just tried on a Storm 9530 and a Curve 9800 against ARS 7.5 / MT 7.5. We
can get past the pop up blocker if we use a direct link with ARS credentials
in the URL. All of the forms that we tried would load just a blank white
screen. This is closer then in the past where we would get a page is too
large error.

A bit off topic, we tried on a iPhone 3g and the page loaded. The
functionality was pretty limited. Multilevel menus would not expand past
the first level, active links would not fire on return. Maybe a view that
is designed for the phone is feasible?

2009-09-11 Thread Mayfield, Andy L.
I'm testing a BB Curve 8350i against a 7.1 mid-tier and so far I have been
unable to get it let me login.

I get the main login screen then I get a warning about a java pop-up, when it
tell it to allow it, the browser closes.

Is this similar to what you experienced on 7.0 mid-tier?

Anyone have any ideas?

Hopefully I can talk our folks into upgrading to 7.5 before too long.

I found out that the Midtier 7.5.0 works just fine on my BB 8310 Curve
(OS4.5). Not sure about MT7.1.0 but I know MT 7.0.1 is not accessible
on the same BB browser.

I just tried it and I get 2 error message:

Pop up blockers are running and must be disabled

You appear to be running a browser that is not supported

This is using Mid Tier 7.1 on a Blackberry curve through BES.

When you say it works just fine do you mean that you can see tickets, modify
them etc

We are looking at a Aeroprise implementation but we are also in the process of
starting to upgrade to 7.5

Thanks for the info. I am currently on 7.1, but that could be a good reason to
upgrade.

Brian,

Suggest you take a look at Vaultus:http://www.vaultus.com

Their solution is very flexible and maybe customized for your
requirements.
These are the folks that did the latest E*Trade solution (as seen on TV)
on a Blackberry.

I know there are several solutions for using Remedy on a Blackberry
(Aeroprise, Vaultus, Mobile Reach). We are looking to use custom
applications on our Blackberry. Has anyone looked at several of these
products? Can you tell me which you prefer? Also can you tell me a rough
ballpark of their pricing?

Thanks

Re: Blackberry Solutions

2008-07-14 Thread Reiser, John J
Brian,
I've used Aeroprise with a handheld PDA a w/barcode scanner but it
should be a similar situation with your Blackberry.
It is very flexible and is not restricted to "Helpdesk" or other canned
Remedy ARS forms.
I made a custom form to "check-in" bar tagged equipment. Upon docking
and running the Aerosync we would load the incoming information from the
shipping tag to the custom form.
There is a lot more functionality available with quick responses and
user priority settings.

Support is good and it's simple to setup.

Not sure of the pricing.
