Re: Oracle 9i/10G client, ARS 7.0.1p2 installation failure...
This is what concerns me: 22:19:29 == Query Request == select tablespace_name from user_tablespaces where tablespace_name = 'ARSYSTEM'; 22:19:29 == Query Results == ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied ERROR: Cannot open the database ... exiting It would appear that there is a mismatch between what the db user has as a password and what remedy is trying to use. Does the aradmin account exist before you run the installer? If so, is the password the default value (ar#admin#)? If not, reset the password to the default or drop the account before running the installer. I know there were issues in versions past when performing an install if the user exists before the install and the password is not the default. This seemed to only impact new installs if my memory serves me correctly.
