Re: Remedy User tool connecting through Windows 2008 R2 Firewall rules
I have implemented ITSM 7.6.4 on Win 2008 R2 VM and was able to establish connection using the client or user tool with no issues. If you need any specifics on the configurations, please let me know. I have the DB and the MT on separate VMs and still able to connect to the app successfully. -Moe http:///www.remedycloud.com <http://www.remedycloud.com> From: LJ LongWing [mailto:lj.longw...@gmail.com] Sent: Wednesday, June 15, 2011 5:10 PM Subject: Re: Remedy User tool connecting through Windows 2008 R2 Firewall rules ** Not an answer to your question, but I needed to setup my static port on TCP, as well as TCP/UDP on 111.not just UDP..or at least I thought I did. Ok (to all): thanks for the feedback... it's what I expected (it appears to be something in our Firewall configuration). -ivan- -- Ivan Runions 3rd Party Services Support Information Technologies University of Calgary Calgary Alberta Canada (403) 220-4437 From: Action Request System discussion list(ARSList) [mailto:arslist@ARSLIST.ORG] On Behalf Of Logan, Kelly Sent: Thursday, June 16, 2011 7:50 AM To: arslist@ARSLIST.ORG Subject: Re: Remedy User tool connecting through Windows 2008 R2 Firewall rules ** Column IT confirmed they installed "7.6.4 SP1 stack installer and tested successfully in Release 2 and Service Patch 0 for Windows 2008". Re: Remedy User tool connecting through Windows 2008 R2 Firewall rules
We are using it on 2008 R2 with out any issues. As others suggested I guess TCP 111 would do the trick. You need firewall rules for tcp 111, udp 111, tcp 3060 On Jun 15, 3:50 pm, Ivan Runions wrote: > I have a new ARS 7.6.04 environment on a Win 2008 R2 virtual machine. > > The Firewall rules are setup to allow TCP on Port 3060 and UDP on port 111. > In theory this allows the User tool to connect without specifying port 3060. > However something is still blocking port 111 for the portmapper. > > My Windows server guy has asked me to explicity ask if other places have run > this on Windows 2008 R2 as opposed to Windows 2008 (non R2). > > ... so...
