Actually it's done by active links - so no chance of a Merge operation! IIRC when I did this several months ago manually (w/o the DM tool) I pushed the Template ID and the Authoring group information over to the HPD:TemplageSPGAssoc form. -- Chris Danaceau AttivaSoft Solutions Architect From: Action Request System discussion list(ARSList) on behalf of Lyle Taylor Sent: Mon 4/13/2009 11:41 AM To: arslist@ARSLIST.ORG Subject: Re: import Templates? ** I just took a quick look. Re: import Templates?
We have been using the Data Management tool version 9005 (9003 was barely usable) on a patch 007 system successfully since last September. We installed it over the 9003 forms and workflow. We primarily use it to restructure companies, groups, and support staff and their related records as organizational changes take place, so we have not tried importing templates. Since it was released June/July 2008 at the same time as ITSM Patch 008, it would have been developed against Patch 007. I haven’t seen anything to indicate a prerequisite of later ITSM patches. Julie, I know that this can be done, because I've done it. Unfortunately, it's been a over a year ago, so I can't remember the specifics of HOW I did it, and I don't have the code. import Templates?
Hello, For the Remedy 7.1 environment we are in process of building, we have a spreadsheet of template data (100+ records) that includes the data to populate Incident Templates. In attempt to avoid manual entry of this info via App Admin Console, we thought we'd try doing an import of this information into HPD:Template. So far, mixed results.. just wondering if anyone else has done this? Re: cmdb2.x import templates
The recommended way is use BMC Atrium Integration Engine (AIE) for this purpose. AIE 7.1 has CSV file adapter and would be the easiest and scalable way to load data into CMDB. The mappings you would create could be used for any future transfer. Also AIE could be used to create relationships between these CIs. Please make sure that you are using AIE with latest patches as some issues with CSV file adapter were fixed in patches. Re: cmdb2.x import templates
Would be easier to create the template as you wish, then map the data with AIE. Re: cmdb2.x import templates
I would start with an export from existing records. That way you will get the hidden fields. Make sure you don't import data that is supposed to be created by work flow. ITSM 7 import templates
Everyone, I believe someone already posted some ITSM import templates on the list recently, however, the attachment did not make it through to the digest. Does anyone know who posted them and when ? Could someone please send them to me or provide a download link ? Thanks Chris ___ UNSUBSCRIBE or access ARSlist Archives at http://www.wwrug.org
