Re: vendor form ARSYS.ARDBC.LDAP and use Logical "Not"

2009-01-15 Thread Joe DeSouza
What exactly are you looking for? Business justifications? Product enhancements
that justify the migration?

I'm pretty sure someone would have what you are looking for. But a new
subject line would be appreciated so as not to mix up what you want
with the requests coming from others..

I think a lot of us would appreciate it if you continue your thread with a new
subject line.. Some of us follow threads of specific interests to us so an
appropriate subject line would be appreciated.

Joe

Does any one have the case study for migration from AR6 to AR7.

The filter works in ldap browser or ldapserarch utility, but not in the URL...

You do get free ldap browsers so you could try downloading one of them for free
for a one time use.. Construct that URL with the logical not (!) on that
browser, and check the results..

I want to reduce the number of returned records from the LDAP server (Microsoft
AD)

When I use - LDAP URL
ldap://zzz.loc/DC=zzz,DC=loc??sub?(objectclass=user)
I get the correct entries in the vendor form.

When I use a logical "Not" - I get the error "plugin timeout error"

! is the logical NOT in ldap url's so you are on the right track there.. What
happens when you use that? Have you tried it with specifying the ldap port
within the URL? I forget the syntax for that but I think its immediatly after
the server name: followed by the rest of your string.
