[AsburyPark] Funeral Planning, the Online Way
The following item appears in the July-August 2008 issue of the AARP BULLETIN. Something to think about! I'm going to do it! Funeral Planning, the Online Way by Keosha Johnson You may not be able to choose when you go to your final resting place, but you can customize your sendoff for free on two new funeral-planning websites. At Minneapolis-based MyWonderfulLife.com, members plan and share funeral details?including choices for music, and where and how burial will take place. Up to six loved ones can have online access to the member?s wishes and to information for finding the will and bank accounts. Founders Sue Kruskopf and Nancy Bush created the site with boomers in mind after Bush lost her husband to lung cancer. ?It would have been nice to know what he wanted,? Bush says. The London-based YourDeathWish.com offers many of the same services as its U.S. counterpart. Founder Victoria Vanstone came up with the idea after chatting with friends about songs she might want played at her funeral. Members of the site can join an online community and share ideas for funeral services?or, as one member calls them, ?going-away parties.? Michael W. [AsburyPark] Re: Asbury Park Metal Container Shops

They dot the vacant spots between the pavillions (which are looking great by the way) As a city planner what are your thoughts on having anything in those spaces, regardless of how they look? I'm sure you know the history and reasoning behind the flared streets between Ocean and Kingsley that correspond to those spaces. Is it worth it lose that air flow and those sightlines in order to gain whatever rent they're making on those containers? Yahoo! [AsburyPark] Thank you, again!
Hello everyone, I arrived home at 9:30 PM tonight (just before our monsoon) after a terrific visit to the City! I am way too beat to post pictures to Flickr tonight but I will let you know when they are available. Millie (the dog) and D-For (the duck) had a terrific time! The staff at The Empress went out of their way to make sure that they were safe and well cared for. I was told that D-For has the distinction of being the only duck allowed to stay at The Empress (they even allowed him to swim in the bathtub and to visit the pool.) [Note: I brought my own cleaning supplies and cleaned the bathtub myself] I met so many new people having brought both the duck and the dog. People were pulling their cars off the road, driving motorcycles onto sidewalks (I didn't advocate that) when they saw the duck in his stroller. I even had people running out of Rafferty's and chasing me down Cookman. I was extremely fun, but it took HOURS to walk anywhere because everyone had a million questions. I loved it! My apologies to Werner for being a let down for the fireworks, but Millie had to pee and Millie pee at The Empress was not something that I wanted to happen. My apologies to the Little League for not realizing that your concession was open on Saturday, I looked for all of you on Sunday, but I was a day late! I'll have some interesting pictures for all of you to see, including a very special tour. Thank you again for a great time: great music, terrific weather and amazing food! Among those that I met for the first time this weekend, a special call-out goes to Rob, David, Nicole and Mike; thank you for your time and conversation! Thanks! Glenn Yahoo!
