[AsburyPark] Re: How do we reduce our deficit?
Please run for office! Do you realize this is the ideal? When did the current crew, forget why they were elected? I wish the council would take their power back instead of giving it away! Stop fighting John and get on with it! #4 and all the rest can be accomplished if they'd all, just pull together, but like my daydreams, this is a pipe dream, huh? God Bless, everyone and Happy Thanksgiving! Sharon(My real name) --- In AsburyPark@yahoogroups.com, oakdorf [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: 1. Long range plan in my view to increase office space here but need to lay the ground work now. No need to move muni center. Sell the site for office development (multi-story) with huge underground parking. The city gets back a built out condo for the space/floors it needs. Interconnected to NEW transit center. Lobby NJT to electrify the line down to Bay Head. In this day and age with global warming concerns, there is no sense running diesel locomotives. With electrification in the future years increase the number of express runs. Office use trickles down to downtown. New muni center plays into Main St. redo. Old office bldgs downtown will become residential condos eventually. I see office use by transportation center and along Memorial. Most important thing is to keep quality of life and safety improvements going. You have that you have everything. Yahoo! A high-rise building on this site or one of the adjacent sites would have great views along the rail right-of-way to the north and south, in addition to the ocean to the east. Perhaps some of the building could be marketed as a regional center for specific industries, such as home furnishings showrooms or art galleries, like similar buildings in NYC. Yahoo! No need to move muni center. Sell the site for office development (multi-story) with huge underground parking. The city gets back a built out condo for the space/floors it needs. Interconnected to NEW transit center. I took my daughter to NYC the other day - Baruch College at 24 and Lexington. They call it the vertical campus. Down down down in 3rd level basements - pool, theatre, recital hall, gyms, etc etc. Then ground level level open all the way up between 2 buildings, 15,000 students. You need to be bold and build something that connects the downtown to main to the west side. Yahoo! Actual development, and really making an effort to consider the music tourism opportunity that Asbury Park has. Asbury Park could be crafted into a version of Austin TX if the correct effort were made. We have, and have always had, a well respected and productive music scene. If we let that wane it would be tragic. If we develop it, money could be made and AP could regain it's truly unique character. Our proximity to NYC is also a plus in this scenario. --- In AsburyPark@yahoogroups.com, dfsavgny [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: --- In AsburyPark@yahoogroups.com, evosap gabrielleobre@ wrote: whats your kooky idea? remember...open mind, nothing too insane, leave the finger wagging critic in the other room. actual development Yahoo!
