Yes I was too.
What I meant -Dr Hiren Gohain got his Ph.D. in England some 30 years bac on Shankardeva's teachings. He never revisited Shankardevaa's relevance for today's and future Assam generations.
He should do Now.
What Syed Malik wrote in his "Dhannyo Noro Tonu Bhalo" --a prose-prosaic- ' period play 'of Shankar's time . Syed never explained why all Assamese should take heart from Shankar's sayings,actions,lifestyle--.Somebody must continue that work.

The problems  is that our desi- culture accepts homage paying to the reformers and doers as substitute for action. If we can sing the praises, louder the better, we have done our part. Rituals substituting for the real thing, in every facet of life.

No wonder how society is left mired in the past, stuck in the mud, unable to dig out and move forward in spite of the enormous human potential.

I am sure you meant" --not to have

Dr. Hiren Gohain did his British Ph. D.
on this subject.

He ought to revisit the scene and do
nalast good job of it in popular eassays for school textbooks.

Islam discourages Hero-Worshipping and
even statues/stone -cutting on mountain sides. Does Buddhism
too?.Hindus cremate - leave no headstone . Should Assam also
concentrate on present and future only  and wipe out mouthfuls
like" Lokapriya Bharat Ratna( after 50 years ) Gopinath Bordoloi
International Airport"?
