Hi all,

I'm looking for a good (premium) carrier with servers presence in Asia that's
able to receive traffic destined to the PSTN, and originated in Asia and
Australia.

I need the least latency possible that's why is very important to have physical
servers located in Asia/Australia. No g729.

Any recommendations?

Thanks,

[asterisk-biz] Asia Termination and Origination

2015-01-15 Thread Mark Brooker
Hi Guys

We are looking for Termination and Origination Partners in Asia. This includes
termination and origination in Singapore, Japan, China, Malaysia, Indonesia,
Korea, Thailand and the Philippines.

CLI on inbound and outbound are essential. You must have media services in the
region so latency is minimal for audio. Rates are not as important as quality
so if you have amazing routes, please let me know about them. Inbound DID
services in each location is also required and being able to port numbers to
your services in a particular region would be helpful.

We have a client looking to move to 1000 channels in the region this year and
further next year.

If you are able to provide services in any of these countries with excellent
quality and CLI, please let me know off list.

[asterisk-biz] Barcode/MAC address scanning for SIP Handsets

2014-03-05 Thread Mark White
A while ago we went looking for an iPhone barcode-scanning tool that
recognised MAC addresses, and didn't find one. If you've ever deployed
multiple Cisco/SNOM etc handsets at once you'll appreciate a tiresome
process of transcribing MAC addresses from the handsets or their packaging
for transfer to your provisioning tools.

We took it upon ourselves to solve this problem, and can now announce the
availability of Locibar v1.02 on the iTunes AppStore. You can check it out
at http://locibar.com or http://twitter.com/locibarapp.

Locibar is the ultimate assistant for installing IP phones from Cisco, Snom
or Polycom. Locibar lets you scan barcodes from handsets or their boxes,
recognises MAC address (and other) data fields, and allows you to tag
individual handsets with extension data. Finally, individual handsets or
batches of handsets can be transmitted as CSV, XML, JSON or HTTP Post to
your provisioning systems.

Locibar takes the pain away from collecting data and streamlines the IP
handset provisioning process. You don't need any scanning hardware, nor any
specific provisioning tools. You just scan the handset(s), add any
extension data, and send it to your favourite provisioning tools as CSV,
XML or JSON-encoded data.

So no more manual collection of MAC addresses, or collation of
spreadsheets. Simply scan and provision. Locibar has been tested with Cisco
Small Business IP Phones, Snom and Polycom handsets, and available now in
English, French, Portuguese and Traditional Chinese.

Contact us if you would like us to add support for other handset
manufacturers, or have any queries.

Best regards

Re: [asterisk-biz] Client saw something shiney -- Fonality HUD

2013-09-12 Thread Mark Brooker
Hi Patrick

Sure we are putting together documentation now for the product. The product
is a combination of Microsoft Lync and Fonality HUD. We wanted to try and
bring everything together in one product for asterisk. It is an XMPP client
that connects to asterisk through a special client we run on the asterisk
system that converts the AMI to XMPP messages. This means everything is
pushed out to clients and is very fast. Ill go through the categories of
features

Instant Messager - PC to PC calling, video calling, screen share, desktop
control, chat, audio conferencing, video conferencing, chat rooms

Asterisk - View extensions presence, transfer calls, park calls, record
calls, spy on calls, hang up, originate calls. Based on the architecture you
can connect to multiple asterisk systems and view everything from one
client.

Asterisk Queuing - There is a full queue interface that allows you to view
agents and all the calls within a queue. You can also transfer calls from
the queue or hang them up. Queue administrators can drag agents in if there
is calls being unanswered.

SIP - Kommunicator has an inbuilt SIP phone if you want to use it without an
IP phone on your desk.

Presence Routing - We have a freePBX module written so when you set your
presence in Kommunicator to away or busy, your calls can be re-routed to
other places.

Outlook - The Kommunicator integration for outlook is very much like
Microsoft Lync. You are able to call from outlook as well other view
presence of other people in Kommunicator.

[asterisk-biz] VoIP solution based on Asterisk for prepaid/postpaid billing

2012-02-11 Thread Mark Scholten
Hello,

Currently we are looking for a solution that offers a prepaid solution and a
postpaid solution for the following:
- Outward calling to all allowed numbers
- Inward DID (with for certain DIDs a rate per minute, but always a rate per
month)
- Fax -> email
- Free phone calls to numbers on the same system
- No pay per SIP/client account (for the license fee we pay if a license fee
has to be paid)
- Option to set a fee per SIP account
- Option to have different fees depending on what the client has ordered (1
SIP account cost more per account compared to having 10 SIP accounts)
- Incoming/outgoing using SIP trunks
- Billing via WHMCS/external tools (an API for this is nice, but getting the
data from a database is also possible), creating invoices that are created
directly can be disabled per account (or are not possible at all)

Nice to have (not required):
- Email -> fax
- Voicemail
- HA solution (possible across multiple datacenters/networks)
- Multiple outgoing/incoming SIP trunks, with automatic detection for the
best rate to use for an outgoing call
- Reseller options
- API
- Easy to provide list of prices (CSV import)
- SMS options

The requirements are what we now offer to our clients (monthly fee prepaid,
calling fee postpaid), but offering the other options (nice to have) are a
nice additional service. Also offering 100% prepaid is a nice additional
option.

What options (paid/free) are available for as far as you know?

Kind regards,

Mark Scholten

Posting to a business list is not an open invitation for every business
out there to subscribe me to their "opt-in" list. In particular, the
spam in question was directed to an address they probably harvested from
voip-info.org, and if any sales people think you're going to get sales
by spamming me, you are sadly mistaken.

Alex and I have been posting these spams in an attempt to publicly
embarrass the perpetrators. Unfortunately it's not working, but it has

Re: [asterisk-biz] Open source friend of Barcelona visits NYC, requests best deals on calls and SMS

2011-04-13 Thread Mark Phillips

Ha! Good luck with that.

The best thing you could do is to buy a "blister pack" cellphone from
AT&T. They have 2 rates, $2 a day all you can eat text/US calling or
they have a monthly top up plan. I think T-Mobile has a similar plan too.

You must buy the phone as you cannot get the SIM cards otherwise. And go
to somewhere like Wal-Mart to get it. You can forget the AT&T/T-Mo
stores. They couldn't find their arses with both hands.

[asterisk-biz] Atcom/Rowetel IP04 asterisk appliance US source

2011-03-30 Thread Mark Willis
After experiencing frustration with long shipping times for the Rowetel
IP04 asterisk appliance we have decided to import the units directly
from Atcom.

If you are in the US and need a small office PBX, the IP04 and IP08 are
ideal. They offer 4 or 8 lines of FXO and FXS and both include the OSLEC
echo canceler for clear calls. The IP08 is also useful as a small office
SIP gateway with its 2 ethernet ports, one for WAN and another for your LAN.

Both models accept an SD card for extra voicemail storage. Configuration
is by web GUI.

http://www.staronetel.com/reseller/

Units ship by Fedex to the US.

Thanks for your interest and if you have any questions, email me at
m...@staronetel.com or call me directly on 210 880 5097.

Hello Conrad,

If I understand it correctly we can meet all requirements. However I've to
check what a number in Germany would cost.

1.: We don't charge for incoming calls (except for incoming calls to
0800/18XX numbers).
2.: We provide numbers in Europe and US for clients, our systems are mainly
located in Europe (Amsterdam).
3.: We can provide some API to create callback requests.
4.: Transfers are by default possible. Queues can be created on request
(free of charge). Voicemail is on request also available (pricing depends on
many things, including storage requirements). As long as Asterisk supports
it we can offer it (so all standard options are available, certain options
are standard and free and some are premium).
5.: We record calls for some clients, we could enable this for you (it is a
premium option).

Could you inform me about the number of concurrent of calls you want to be
able to make, the number of SIP accounts you want? To give a quote including
phone numbers we also need to know how many phone numbers you want (and the
type and country/area you want them).

Feel free to contact me off list.

With kind regards,

Mark Scholten

Look for a good bank (if you ask me they should provide some web portal for
transferring money to other countries). Here (the Netherlands) I don't know
any bank that requires you to visit them in person to send money to other
countries (at least not for the USA/other European countries). They all have
a web portal for it (and if you visit the bank for it they support you at a
computer where you can do it via their web portal on request). The banks do
all they can to get you out of their offices where possible.

If you have a Dutch bank in your area you could ask them for options for it
and if they say it isn't available; ask why it is available for clients in
the Netherlands and not for you.

I have experience with:
- Rabobank
- ING Bank
- ABN Amro (before it was split/taken over)

We "buy/rent" US toll free numbers at didforsale.com. We use SIP to get it

If I'm correct (I can look it up):
- 3 USD/month
- 0,05 USD/minute
- 5 USD setup

There aren't other requirements if I'm correct (like an address in the US).

[asterisk-biz] Looking for a SIP provider with international routes

2010-08-07 Thread Mark Scholten
Hello,

We are looking for a SIP provider that can deliver us an account we can use
as a fallback solution. Putting some money in an account with no commitment
is an option.

It will mainly be used if our primary SIP provider can't provide a certain
route and we might shift some traffic to you if you have better rates.

If you can provide it within a few days: contact me off list with all
requirements (and if possible a link to a page with all rates)

With kind regards,

Mark Scholten

So you give every customer with 1 SIP account and 1 DID a VPN tunnel or
something like that? Not every customer can run a VPN client between the SIP
phone and the internet without buying extra hardware. Most customers don't want
to buy and maintain such hardware. There are also other problems of course with
this idea.

Hello,

We are looking for 1-800, 00800 and other toll free numbers. If you can
offer it: please provide rates. Traffic volume is probably low, but
currently the traffic volume is unknown.

If you also have good rates for outgoing calls, please provide them so we
can move some outgoing calls to you if the rates are good. Please note:
traffic volume is probably low.

minutes/month we can also provide premium numbers in Germany.

How many minutes/month do you think you'll need and how many concurrent

Depending on your requirements you could make it SMS or voice based. However
to actually receive the money by the persons that are receiving it they
would need a point to claim it (a bank account or a shop where someone pays
the money and lower the money in their account when there is a payout could
work). Something similar is done in India if I'm correct.

I don't remember the name of the company that did it in India, but you could
look for them. I would be happy to ask here internally if we would be happy
(and under what conditions) to make it SMS and/or voice based.

I don't know much about mezzo.net, but 1.4.11 is a pretty old version of
Asterisk. The current version of Asterisk is 1.4.24.1, and 1.4.25 is due out
relatively soon.

As far as the tarballs of Asterisk on asterisk.org go, they can be used on OS
X.
Asterisk is made to be run on any POSIX-compliant OS. A few of the core
developers use Apple laptops and make sure that the code compiles and runs on a
Mac. If you use the Asterisk-GUI available from asterisk.org, you can run it on
a Mac. I don't know how much Safari testing is done, but if you have issues
using Safari, you can try using Firefox instead.

Actually Trix it would be;

 0.5*240=120 0.9*240=216

We have 240V in the UK

However I think the point here is not that he is doubling his current
consumption but that he is being "nickle & dimed" for his electric.

I'd forget about the expenses and hassles of building a machine and move
to an different provider.

[asterisk-biz] SIP or IAX based 411 provider?

2008-07-24 Thread Mark Phillips
Hi all,

Does anyone know of a IAX or SIP based 411 provider?

I'm looking for one that'll accept my call over the Internet rather than
me having to dial their 800 number.

Thanks

Re: [asterisk-biz] OSS\CRM- Try VMukti.com

2008-05-27 Thread Mark Best
I would be intrested.

-Original Message-

I would be glad to work on docs myself, a from scratch installation
guide from a user's perspective, under one condition.

I can be shown how this will connect and interact with Asterisk fairly
quickly.

I have a clean server setup with Win Server 2K3, SQL 5, and Vmukti
installed. I am very interested in the call center version.

I can provide remote access to the server and record action and later
transcribe into a howto if that would help.

Thanks,
Steve Totaro

[asterisk-biz] Looking for a reliable China termination

2008-04-25 Thread mark morreny
Hi,

The currently voip service provider (callwitus) that I am using is quite
cheap. The problem is it can't terminate to China reliably, especially when
the call is going to a line line. For cell phone, it is much better but
still it is not 100% perfect. The problem I am encountering is that the
call to China, through my current provider, routes to a "random" caller.
For example, when I call my friend in China the call get routed to an
unknown person's phone speaking in Chinese! If I call my friend's cell
phone instead of his land line, the success rate is much better.

The part that frustrated me is the fact that I still get charged for those
calls that were not routed correctly because someone from the other side did
"answered" the call.

How come this happens? Is this something wrong with my current service
provider?

Can anyone suggests a good souce for China termination?

Thanks,
Mark

And I am the opposite, being able to program Trixbox does not make me a
techie. I think the main failing of the open source voice community is the
lack of sale and marketing collateral. This means we do not get the messages

Re: [asterisk-biz] Trixbox Pro?

2007-08-31 Thread Mark
I agree Tim, my first foray into pro was a little disappointing. The same
experience as trying to communicate directly with Fonality. I think that the
centrally managed iPBX platform certainly has merit though.

We, along with our business partners are implementing a hosted iPBX offering
here in Australia using Asterisk, Interactive Intelligence and an Alcatel
solution. This will be based on the model that says that where possible
handsets register to the core over a managed data service, on site proxy's
will be used only for redundancy and high user availability. This addresses
the extra cost component in the main. We also provide proxy registration by
using a gateway (GSM) that also has this function built in. CE is a great
product and I understand the value of central management of back-up files so
we will deliver this as well.

I seriously doubt you'll find a 250 MHz PC that can transcode +200
simultaneous phone calls and support T.38!

Your standard "Off the Shelf" Cisco AS5350 will do it but Cisco Packs
the DSP chips in their access servers. Granted it will set you back
$10K from eBay (Or more like +$20 - 30K from Cisco) but you do get what
you pay for.

Why does it have to be "Digium Approved"?

Why couldn't it be a DCAP prep course for example? Many schools make
money teaching MicroSnot/Cisco/Sun/Checkpoint courses but are not
"sanctioned" by the respective product owners.

Marshall,

Firstly, when replying to the list please do not include the entire
digest. It is kinda pointless and annoying. Now to your question:

eNum is a method of mapping e164 numbers (phone numbers) to internet
resources (SIP/IAX Url, eMail ) via the existing internet Domain Name
System (DNS).

Advantages:
No need for platform development, Any Linux box running bind will do.
Heirachrical Structure. sub-zones (area codes, and exchanges) can
be offset to other systems and reduce administration of the root system.

Disadvantages:
setup can be a bit complex and requires detailed planning. A good
DNS Guru would be well worth knowing.
Not really intended for small scale (like driving a MAC truck to
the corner store for a quart of milk)

I'm not entirely sure how to use eNum (exclusively) as a internet call
business. Its a tool not a business plan. That's like building an
entire business model around a hammer or screwdriver.

John,

That was the allure of SellVoIP. They only required $25 deposit, and provided
both in and outbound service. Only missing feature was E911 (and customer
service). Cost was minimal, service was better than most. God help you though
if there is a problem like now...

If it does not violate any NDAs, may I ask what services were being purchased
from this vendor, and how much they required in deposit? I have been amazed at
the number of vendors requiring large deposits, then folding and pretending to
still be live. I think this is the third similar thread over the last six

  Jed,

Glad to see you are still amongst the living. I don't generally use the Lite
Portal as there is still some functionality in the Old one that I can't get to
in the Lite one. I have been in and out of it for the last 4 weeks though and
this is the first time I have seen those names there. That said, as stated in
my original message and in the new ticket I placed this afternoon (still no
response there) I did try and convert over to using the new names as found in
the FAQ (which also match up with the portal). All 4 of those names are also
timing out just like the static IPs. I'm not even getting a response back from
your systems. These are older accounts attempting to register a TrixBox PBX,
and setup using your TrixBox plug-in. They worked up until you moved everything
and now they don't.

The account I am fighting first is: 86160103 against static IP
address (mine) 69.30.46.122.

Even a hint at the problem would be great. This whole fiasco has completely
destroyed our credibility about how good VoIP is, since we can't even get our
own office numbers worked out.

  markh

P.S. Any chance that your own published number will start working any time
soon so I could have a direct call with support?
