Re: [asterisk-users] Is there any way to pass caller id to cell phone?
Ivan, Be aware that what you are asking may cause problems with making the call to the cell phone. Think of it this way, you are taking an inbound call and then sending it out over your regular operator. They may object to accepting a call with a CLID that does not match your account and could block it. It is worth testing if they will allow any outbound CLID or need it to match the account. The problem will get worse when SHAKEN'STIR comes into effect and they need to certify that the call came from your office. The reason they would block it is to prevent both spam calls and fraud. Re: [asterisk-users] Any impact on VoIP from loss of Net neutrality
Hi Ron There was an article back in July looking at what might happen How does the 2017 Net Neutrality Debate Affect VoIP? ( https://voipstudio.com/2017-net-neutrality-debate-affect-voip/ ) In general, anything that allows them to charge more, limit, or prioritize can affect VoIP. There were cases in the past where the carriers would do this via Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) to block services that competed with their own services. So it is not hard to envision this happening in the future. That said., the vote was not the end of the story. There is still a law suit pending on this topic and Congress is being forced to review the decision (and potentially finally create a proper law). ( http://uproxx.com/news/senate-democrats-cc-net-neutrality-fight/ ) So it is worth it to contact your Senator and let them know what you think they are supposed to be doing in your name. [asterisk-users] [asterisk-dev] VoIP monitoring tools
While I agree with Nitesh that Nagios has some great monitoring tools, I would recommend that you use Icinga 2 rather than Nagios with those plugins, Icinga has a bit more flexibility and better structure after it was forked from Nagios. We are using it to monitor everything from server status (CPU, hard disk, processes, etc.), connectivity (ping, dropped packets, etc) and Asterisk processes (number of calls, channels, etc.). -- Eric Klein VP of Customer Experience GreenfieldTech Mobile +972-54-666-0933 Email eric.kl...@greenfieldtech.net Skype: EricLKlein Web: http://www.greenfieldtech.net/ Message: 3 Date: Tue, 27 Sep 2016 17:11:41 +0200 From: Nitesh Bansal <nitesh.ban...@gmail.com> To: Asterisk Users Mailing List - Non-Commercial Discussion <asterisk-users@lists.digium.com> Cc: Asterisk Developers Mailing List <asterisk-...@lists.digium.com> Subject: Re: [asterisk-dev] [asterisk-users] VoIP monitoring tools Message-ID:
Re: [asterisk-users] Need ISDN call generator
Hi Hooman, What you probably want is a PRI PBX running Asterisk. You should either plan to build your own (with the cards you need) or get one of the low cost options: - Allo.com has their Mega PBX with 1 PPR port ( http://allo.com/megapbx-line.html) - Pika Tech has the Warp PBX with BRI ( http://www.pikatech.com/warp-telephony-all-in-one/) Both ship world wide. There are other brands and models out there and depending on where you are located they may be better options based on shipping etc. Hope this helps, Eric On Sun, Aug 28, 2016 at 12:20 PM, Hooman Fazaeli <hoomanfaza...@gmail.com> wrote: > > Hi > > To troubleshoot FreeBSD panics triggered by ISDN load on an asterisk > system, > we are looking to buy an ISDN call generator/simulator device. > > The minimum requirements include: > > - Not too expensive > - PRI support (BRI support is a plus) > - CCS+CRC4 farming + HDB3 coding > - EuroISDN (DSS1) support. > - A minimum of 4 ports (120 channels/concurrent calls) > - Compatibility with Digium cards. > - DUT in TE mode. > - Reliable & stable operation. > > I would like to hear your recommendations for and experiences about > such a device. [asterisk-users] Anyone have problems with HPE 5130 EI Switch Series
Have a strange issue at a customer, they went and replaced all of their old PoE switches with brand new HPE 5130 EI Switch Series. Their PBX has been up and stable for several years with no recent changes, but since they change the switches they are having a problem with some their Yealink t-26 phones. Seems that only the Yealinks are repeatedly rebooting whenever the user clicks the speaker button, otherwise the phones work properly. Their Cisco and Polycom phones work fine, and the Yealinks were fine prior to the upgrade. Re: [asterisk-users] Looking for PRI Card with automatic fail over
Responding to Matt Riddell, M Shokuie, A J Stiles, and Telium Support (all below) Thanks for the suggestions, but a separate gateway is a problem in the design as the configuration is basically: Carrier --- PRI --- Asterisk (with failover) Legacy PBX | - SIP / IAX2 -- our service or remote office As this is already acting as a gateway adding another box to the mix seems a bit over kill (unless I can embed it and the asterisk PBX into a 2 U pizza box). But since most gateways are designed to be used for fail over servers / PBXs not lines I am not sure that this would benefit us. So far I have found 1 company that seems to have a gateway card and that is the beroNet PCI / PCIe Gateway Cards which they say has the card level failover. I will update the list should this meet the use case. Re: [asterisk-users] Call Center
Hi Murthy, Short answer: Yes this kind of call center operation is quite common. There are several different dialers available for this kind of activity via Asterisk (or one of the projects based on Astersik). Please let me know if you need help and I or the list can direct you to some of them. We have done it for some large and complicated applications, and offer it as a service it you like. What I mean is: given a list of phone numbers, can Asterisk dial each number, play a message and accept some DTMF? I ask because I am an employee of a non-profit company based in San Diego, CA. I already evaluated Voicent and Voxeo. The former has expensive licensing terms and the latter is not best suited for a call center. I would appreciate your kind comments. Re: [asterisk-users] showing sip number insted of pri number

Can you please guide me how to spoof the number in outbound call. To number in my chose. I don't know any telco or national law that would allow setting arbitrary numbers. You might have been assigned a certain number rage, and you could pick any from that range. If you set a number that does not belong to your range, the telco will typically substitute it with a standard number. Let's say you've got 100 numbers, e.g. 1234-0 to 1234-99, then anything out of that range, e.g. , is likely to show up as 1234-0 on the callee's phone. Having said that you also need to coordinate your efforts with your telco. You need to check several transmitting and switching facilities, like CLIP, CLIR, COLP, COLR, possibly CNIP. CLIP and COLP comes with different flavors. I'd say that the details are outside of what can be handled here. jg As JG mentioned there are several legal and technical reasons why this question would be a problem. Legally many countries have mandated that you can not spoof or assign an incorrect CLID. On the other hand, I have run into several carriers that will block calls that are not from the assigned block of DIDs. So using JG's example if you send anything but one of the assigned numbers from the range of 1234-0 to 1234-99 they will block the call. This can be because it is the wrong length, format, or not in your assigned range. Eric -- _ -- Bandwidth and Colocation Provided by http://www.api-digital.com -- New to Asterisk?
