On the asterisk1 I got this:

register = username:[EMAIL PROTECTED]

[eop]
username=username
secret=secret
type=peer
host=ipaddress1
auth=md5

on the second box I got this

this host is ipaddress2

[incommingiax2]
username=username
type=user
secret=secret
host=dynamic
context=from-internal-custom
auth=md5

on first host 1 am getting:

Jun 22 14:42:10 NOTICE[2398]: chan_iax2.c:7411 socket_read: Registration
of 'proxy1' rejected: 'Registration Refused' from: 'ipaddress2'

if I enable debuging I got this:

Why the box is refusing the registration.
That box is on DMZ vlan with local ip
On the pix firewall public ip address2 is mapped to that box ip

debug on the second box

any ideas what could be wrong?

Thanks

Subject: [Asterisk-Users] Analogue phone w/ TDM400

Hi,

I'm running * 1.2.7.1 on Red Hay 9.0 w/ a TDM 400 2 x FXS, 1 x FXO.
I'm using a VTech cordless that makes three short beeps when someone
another extension is picked up, presumably this lets you know if
someone is trying to listen in..

Everything works, except the VTech now makes the three beeps everytime
you try to use it, even if another extension is in use. It seems as
though the VTech phone trhinks the TDM400 is another extension - and i
guess i can kinda see its point :) It becomes annoying though because
I have to put up with these 3 beeps everytime I answer the phone or
check messages. The beeps seem to mess up DTMF occassionally too,
messing me up when I'm entering my password and so on.

Anyone know how to defeat this behaviour? I didn't have this problem
on older versions of Asterisl (i.e. 1.1)

Thanks,
H

RE: [Asterisk-Users] How to unlock old SCCP Cisco 7960 ?

I believe its trying to get an IP. Put
it on a network, have a DHCP server up to give it a possible address, and see
if that changes its behavior.

Complete
these steps:

1. Go
to the main Date/Time screen.

How do you get to that screen ?
It's crazy but when I plug my phone, the only thing I can see is :
a black strip on top with 2 lines bellow showing :
Cisco Systems, Inc.
Copyright 2000

and clock-icon with Configuring VLAN or Configuring IP
in screen bottom left

It seems that the phone is frozen in boot sequence or something similar.
It's strange because that phone was fully functionnal months ago.
Is it broken now ?
Is there a hardware reset I could to wake it up ?

Status Message shows DNS Timeout (I don't have any DNS server
configured)
Network Statistics menu shows Phone Initialized (no error
mentioned)

and Network Configuration menu is still locked.

1. Press
**# to unlock Network
Configuration on the phone.

How do you exactly Press **# ? Mine remains locked.

2006-05-20 Thread T.S

As far as I know, you will still need a
tftp or ftp server in order to do that.

Is this phone setup to configure itself
from tftp/ftp server each time the phone is restarted? Then that would explain
why its stuck because the tftp/ftp server is removed.

Usually they are setup to get the config
upon initial setup, then you change it not to look at the tftp/ftp server
again.

Well from the last time I played with
them.. back in 2001/2003 L

It passes Configuring
VLAN.
It gets its own and gateway IP addresses from DHCP server but remains stuck in
Configuring IP...
No FTP server is defined.

I believe Network Configuration menu is locked because Configuring
IP process in going on.

If I could find a mean to stop this process, maybe I could change its FTP
server setting and force it to upgrade its software.

Maybe I should first upgrade SCCP firmware ...
What do you think ?

[Asterisk-Users] Setup up Intellitouch ITC-3002 Sip phones with Asterisk

2006-05-19 Thread T.S
Sorry if this hit the list twice.. but I didn't see it come through:

Hey guys,
Just for archival purposes, I have setup the Intellitouch ITC-3002 (2006)
SIP phones for use with asterisk (1.2.7.1). After a few gotcha's, I was
able to do transfer's, moh's, push a button to check voicemail, callerID,
etc..
One big gotacha was the dial timeout (by default!) is set to 2ms (20s)
and its NOT configurable from the internal web gui on the phone. You have to
download the config, edit it, then up the config again..

The line: dial_timeout=your delay in ms will set the dial delay

Another gotcha is sip registration. Even though you set the authentication
ID and password to whatever matches in the sip configured context for this
phone, you still need to put in same username under User name for URL (in
the gui) so it can authenticate. Otherwise it will just run on and on about
can't authenticate, username/auth name mismatch or something.

I hope this helps someone, I couldn't find ANY information on configuring
these phones with asterisk. Plain looking Business 2 line IP phones, but I
couldn't beat the price ($56!) versus the $169 sticker price I have seen
elsewhere.

Subject: [Asterisk-Users] Asterisk TAPI - Outlook click2dial

Hello,

I'm experiencing some problems with AstTAPI driver. Dialing works just fine,
but 'Hangup' from Outlook doesen't.. actually that's not the problem as fact
that Outlook doesen't detect end of conversation - once the call is
terminated 'manually' via the phone Outlook still 'thinks' that call is
active.

Anyone knows what's the problem? Is 'hangup' implemented in AstTAPI driver?

Thanks,

Tomislav

[Asterisk-Users] How many asterisk process's are normal?

2006-04-29 Thread T.S
Hello all,

I have two test beds running the exact same version of asterisk 1.2.7.1,
latest of zaptel, libpri, etc..

Test bed #1 (Solaris 9,sparc ultra 5):
This one is closer to a production machine, in that it is connected to a
sip provider thru an iax2 connection and have an incoming DID configured. I
can send and receive calls.

Test bed #2 (Slackware Linux 10.2, AMD XP chip):
This is what I will eventually move over to since it is supported more. This
machine is on a different network and not connected to the other test bed at
all.

What I found is that on test bed #2, I have 18 processes of asterisk running
with absolutely no soft-phones connected to it, and 2 processes of mpg123 on
hold music running.

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/usr/local/src# ps -aef |grep asterisk |wc -l
18
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/usr/local/src#

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/usr/local/src# uptime
08:57:55 up 2 days,  6:12,  1 user,  load average: 0.00, 0.00, 0.00

On Test bed #1, I have exactly 1 process of asterisk running with no phones
connected to it.

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~ ps -aef |grep asterisk |wc -l
   1
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~ uptime
8:57am  up 6 day(s),  8:19,  1 user,  load average: 0.00, 0.00, 0.01

Nothing earth shattering, but strange. I assuming that 1 process at idle (no
phones making calls and such) should be normal right?

[Asterisk-Users] asterisk 1.2.7.1 crashing my newly built system

2006-04-19 Thread T.S
Hello folx!
I just started to play with *. I first installed it this past weekend on my
Solaris 9 ultra 5 test box. Now I'm attempting to put it on a freshly built
Linux box a mere few hours old. I've installed asterisk 1.2.7.1,
libpri-1.2.2, zaptel 1.2.5 and the latest asterisk-sounds 1.2.1.
This is running (or installed) on my Slackware 10.2 box running kernel
2.4.31. I'm testing with a sip channel (since I have no digital boards),
with Xlite 1105x release.

The problem I'm having is with the fresh demo install instances. I was
testing out accessing vm and switching back and forth between lines on the
xlite client, when I received this message:

Apr 19 22:17:00 WARNING[2806]: chan_sip.c:1210 retrans_pkt: Maximum retries
exceeded on transmission [EMAIL PROTECTED]
for seqno 49491 (Critical Response)

Then immediately my machine became unresponsive and my ssh connection
dropped. I had to reboot it to get back again. I've looked in
/var/log/messages to see if I can see the cause, but nothing is there
related to asterisk. I don't have this happening at all with my Solaris 9
box, which has been running the same tar files since this past weekend. I
really haven't changed anything from the default except uncomment out the
xlite sip user in sip.conf.

Can anyone shed some light as to what could be the cause for the error? Then
the drop in network connection and freezing the machine?

Thanks!

Terrelle
