Re: [asterisk-users] Echo Problems with IAXy
Typically, echo isn't heard on the _far_ end, unless it is created by acoustic effects within the phone hooked up to the IAXy. Can the microphone hear the speaker? You said you've tried numerous analog phones, so that kind of rules that out, but curious... Sean Dennis wrote: > From what I have found the IAXy doesn't handle echo very well. [asterisk-users] Echo Problems with IAXy
From what I have found the IAXy doesn't handle echo very well. About half of the analog phones I try on the adapter create an echo on the far end. The person I am talking to can hear themselves. I am using Asterisk 1.4 and have tried it with 1.2 as well with the same results. Is there is anything I can do in Asterisk to help solve the echo problem? [asterisk-users] echo problems
Normally I use DID provider - asterisk - sip terminator ( both DID provider and sip terminator use g729, so asterisk just passes the call between the 2 of them ). All works wonderfull, no echo etc. But we would like to offer the service with softphones. However users experience echo, be it with gsm, ulaw or alaw. Someone would like to share from his experience for solving this echo problem? If ta detailed answer is too much, just telling me where to look for would be great. I searched voip-info.org but I wasn't able to find something which fits my exact problem, since I don't use TDM cards Best regards, Apa Michiel van Baak <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: On 16:34, Sat 29 Sep 07, Doug wrote: > At 04:57 9/29/2007, Michiel van Baak, wrote: > >On 21:47, Fri 28 Sep 07, Doug wrote: > >> At 20:53 9/28/2007, Tzafrir Cohen wrote: > >> >On Fri, Sep 28, 2007 at 01:28:18PM -0500, Doug wrote: > >> >> >How do you do that when your single network connection is gone? > >> >> > >> >> Any suggestions on dual-wan routers? Please read these with care: Causes of Echo http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Causes+of+Echo Asterisk Echo Avoidance: http://www.voip-info.org/wiki-Asterisk+Echo+Avoidance Until you understand echo it will be impossible to eliminated it. Hi Guys I have installed an * system and we seem to have loads of echo problems. Sometimes worst than others. I have googled and voip-info ‘ ed my little mind out. I am running 3 x zaphfc cards in the machine. Not sharing irq’s, other than themselves. It is on a PIII 1Gig machine with 1Gb ram. My question is this. Does the 2.6 kernel affect (or can) the echo? Could a busy network cause this problem? Vmstat – shows cpu usage spike to about 48% Starting to pull my hair out. Any suggestions would be muchly appreciated. [Asterisk-Users] Echo problems with mISDN?
Hi all, I’m using a AVM Fritz! Card (TE-Mode) and a Longshine LCS-8051 with HFC-S-Chip (NT-Mode) together with the chan_misdn. I build the system like it was explained at http://isdn.jolly.de. At first I used the pbx4linux software from jolly (http://isdn.jolly.de) and then I changed to asterisk. Both systems works fine, but I have (in both systems) the same echo problem. When I call a person (ISDN to ISDN), I have an echo, and the other person has no echo! But when I call to a cell phone (ISDN to GSM), I don’t have an echo! So this works fine. How can I get rid of this echo? Maybe I have to buy another card? Or is there something wrong with the mISDN drivers? Regards, Christian
[Asterisk-Users] Echo problems using AVM Fritz!PCI Card
Hi All, I'm running the latest asterisk CVS code (from experimental), and hardware-wise an AVM Fritz!PCI Card, together with chan_capi 0.3.3. The problem is that any inbound/outbound calls result in echo on MY end (the asterisk end). I've played with the echo settings in capi.conf (mainly turning on echocancel and echosquelch, also tried playing with rxgain/txgain) to no avail. The only setting that has helped (somewhat) so far is enabling echosquelch. The echo disappears but a new problem arises. When the person on the other end starts to talk, the first bit is chopped off, and the last bit (before they go quiet) so it almost sounds as though it's doing voice detection and transmitting only when it detects voice. Also, if the other person is talking and i start to talk, they get cut off immediately so this isn't a practical workaround. Any help will be muchly appreciated. [Asterisk-Users] Echo Problems
I've recently signed up with voicepulse to test their IAX termination. Right now, I have the following setup: Rhino channel bank T400P Dual 900 MHz Server Latest CVS Asterisk Intel EE100 NICs When I dial internally or out over our T1, everything is crystal clear. When I dial a call through voicepulse, there is a heinous echo. The worst part is that it isn't to bad on my end, but the person on the remote end hears a serious echo of their voice. I've tried tweaking echo cancel and echo training but neither helped. Interestingly, I tried the Digium test IAX and briefly chatted with someone there. He noted a very small amount of echo but nothing as pronounced as when I call cellphone through voicepulse. I'm about to sign up through NuFone for some testing, but I'd be interested to know if anyone else has any echo cancelling issues with IAX or otherwise that I should know about. -- Jayson Vantuyl Computing Edge, Inc. ___ Asterisk-Users mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users To UNSUBSCRIBE or update options visit: http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users
