[Asterisk-Users] TDM400 success?

2004-12-23 Thread Damon Estep
Has anyone had success with the TDM400 in production? I have multiple
boxes where these cards lock up and the only thing that will fix them is
to unload *, modprobe -r wctdm, modprobe wctdm, load asterisk. Does not
matter if it is a FXS/FXO module.

I know this topic has been discussed many times before, but my questions
is not is anyone else having this problem since I know that answer.

Is anyone having success? Any config suggestions that make them more
stable?

I have a recently installed TDM400P with one FXO in slot 4 which
hasn't locked up yet, but it's only been a day or so at this
point and usage is light so far...

Re: [Asterisk-Users] TDM400 success?

2004-12-23 Thread Andrei (MPI)
Short answer: try new FXO modules or a new card.
I've struggled with this for about a month. I've returned one TDM400
card, got a new one. Had same problems, Digium support installed a patch
for zaptel, no difference. Then I diagnosed one FXO was dead. Got a
replacement for that FXO. Suprisingly the new FXO module that arrived
from Digium did not have this loud noise issue for that line. While I
was having occasional loud noise on all the others. Migrated to
another PC server, no difference.

Then I got four new FXO from Digium (btw, no S/N on them!!), they
claimed this will fix all your problems with the card. Got same
problem again on just one FXO line. Replaced that FXO with FXO they've
sent me as the replacement the first time. And voila. System works in
production for more than 2 weeks now, no loud noise so far. (I pray so
it stays like that forever).

If anyone can comment what's the schematic difference between TMD400P
Revision E/F and Revision H. As well as how new FXO modules are
different from the old ones, that would be great.

Thank you,
Andrei

We have one TDM400 with 4FXO Daughter Boards, that have been running
for a couple of months. The main problem we had was the issue where
the card would not come alive on reboot. Fixing the driver code to
have the card recognize a key helped fix it, but the new zaptel drivers
don't do the trick which for now there is no upgrading zaptel.

I have one with 1 FXO and 1 FXS. It's been reasonably stable for about
a month.

I have 4 systems with TDM400P w/FXS modules and one system with TDM400P
w/FXS and FXO modules. I did have problems with lockups similar to
your's, but only on one system. I replaced system and the problem went
away. The unstable system was an old AMI MegaRAID SMP motherboard.
Current stable systems I am using are ASUS, Intel and Compaq systems.
