[Asterisk-Users] adtran 750 + t100p

2004-03-04 Thread Chris Clifton
Hi,

I've had some issues with the x100p in my * box with echo at the beginning
of calls and remote hangup detection. Question is, will setting up an adtran
for the pots lines and connecting this to a t100p in * fix these issues ?

Can anyone verify good call quality and remote hangup detection on incoming
/ outgoing US pots lines with the 750 + t100p combination ?

Thanks,
Chris Clifton

Remote hangup is something your Telco provides. You either have it or
don't. So that may not be helped. As for the echo, it may be helped, but
I don't expect it to help much.

The Adtran 750 is an FXS channel bank. And they work fine for analog
phones We have many of these units setup and working without hums or
echo. Most of our units work out of the box with not having to go into
there configuration.

Yes, it works fine.

The Adtran 750 is an FXS channel bank. It does not take single
 pots lines in.

Actually, the Adtran 750 is an empty box that does virtually nothing
without cards to fit into its slots. There are both FXO as well as
FXS cards available for the Adtran 750.

Chris,

I've found the Adtran 750 works very well with the T100P. I haven't noticed any echo on the lines. All the FXS lines from the Central Office are feeding FXO ports on the 750. The CO lines all have cutoff on disconnect enabled (Your phone company may call it something different. Basically, its a zero voltage across tip/ring for a few milliseconds). To take advantage of COD, your zapata.conf should be using fxs_ks (kewlstart) signalling.

Thanks, from what I've gathered, remote disconnect supervision (hangup
detection) requires kewl start signaling. I currently have loop start
signaling ...will the telco change the signaling on the line ?

Or will the L36 firmware in the adtran make this work fine with loop start
lines ?

There seems to be conflicting opinions on this.

I'm assuming FXO cards in the adtran 750 pushing incoming calls to a t100p
will take care of my echo issues.

Thanks,
Chris
