Depends on how many active channels, the algo used in the software EC, how the
driver's compiled (optimizations)... it's not a simple answer. You need to
benchmark it yourself.

My short answer is: If you're not running into CPU issues, don't worry about
the hardware EC. You're not saving anything. When you start having trouble
with CPU usage, look at getting the module and adding it in.

Time to report back. We took out the daughter board (no more hardware echo

Yes. It is always the same pri regardless port on the TE411P. If I disable the

Without telling us exactly what the problem is (including any error messages),
we can't help.

You've also been asked to address these issues directly with Digium. Support
for their cards is included in the price of the cards.

Is there some specific reason why you refuse to do this?

Setting the timing to '0' tells the card NOT to try to recover clock from that
span. Not what you want to do with telcos, but they should be in sync
anyway.

Failing that (i.e. if you MUST have different clock sources for each span, I
would recommend a Sangoma multiport card. Putting two Digium cards in a
server is ultimately more expensive and with no real net gain.

Digium cards only support 1 timing source per card.

That's irrelevant. His current configuration means that the second
span will be used for timing in case of failure of the first span.
