I understand about the soft button and yes this does work, however I am
trying to figure out if the actual Button (the mechanical one on the
phone)
That says transfer is it possible to get this to work.

Yes, press the softbutton that says Xfer (means transfer).

Same here, no all options work great. The only problem I have is 
supervised transfers and access the phonebook when I'am on a call. (to 
transfer)

I connected a Snom190 (fw3.56, sip) to * a few days ago and was 
surprised to see that not only the transfer button but also the 
programmable buttons on the side (with the leds) worked right out of the 
box (allowing me to switch between multiple calls).

Since I haven't looked into Asterisk very closely yet I don't know if 
the firmware version can make a difference here. Or if maybe the 
configuration supplied with the Debian (sarge) packages is different 
from the default ones.

Ronald,

No luck is getting the Transfer button working here.  However, there
is a Transfer button that lights up on the LCD when you are on a call.
 I believe this is the one that people are most likely referring to
when they say they got things working.

It would be nice to be able to program the transfer button behavior on
these phones.
