vegetarianism- your views?

well, there was a rather heated discussion among my friends on what's truely vegetarian, and I thought of putting it up hear for different views.wickipedia defines the term as "A vegetarian diet is derived from plants, with or without eggs or dairy."while this defenition might seem satisfactory enough, if one were to think of the true cause, the true intend of being a vegitarian, the whole view bounces out of the confinement of the above defenition. if the intend is, (as in most cases), to avoid killing, or distruction of any lifeform, then the cunsumption of food granes will have the same effects as that of an egg, right? Here's how I understand armor, and I hope I'm right because I just wrote this in the readme file. So, feet are 15% of your character. That means that, say, combat boots that give you 100% protection will protect your character from 15% damage. That is, the boots working at 100% don't give *you* 100%, only your feet, and as your feet are just 15% of you, you get 15% overall.Now, say you have the high armor skill maxed, so that high armor protects you at 160%. Take that 15% protection from your feet and, instead of multiplying it by 1 (as we did in the previous paragraph), multiply it by 1.6. Now, your boots are giving your total character about 24% protection.Remember that armor is never perfect, and will only ever operate at about 95% efficiency no matter what. Hello,We may need to patition Aprone or someone to make a game cliant like steam for audio games. I would totally love it and Aprone could get money from purchases.I would like it a lot if Steam was accessible, but we would need someone on the inside to poke Gabe (can't spell his last name) and ask him for a special audio games section. That way we could have our own little section for Green-lighting so we only need maybe 20 people to thumbs up a game instead of 2. According to Tiflotechnia, Lda, the reason why they are not including all the Vocalizer Expressive voices is that they wouldn't want to pay money for each voice. I was told this by Tiflotechnia themselves when I contacted them for questions. Also, Aaron or Nicky aren't on either Freedom Scientific's site nor the Vocalizer for NVDA site for each voice, which I'm actually surprised that they didn't include them yet, but there are NVDA addons for each voice. Also, I noticed that some voices are from Loquendo, and others are from SVOX, as we all know. I still am wondering why we still don't get Aaron and Nicky. Great info! Two questions: 1. Since it looks like the armor values can go above 100%, does that mean that a piece of head armor with more than 100% could protect more than the allowed limit for that category? 2. A few references were made to reseting skill levels... What does that mean? Mehgcap, I'll see if I can explain the graphics options in a way that will make sense.The first setting is default zoom, and default colors.  This is what everyone has already had available to them in other Swamp versions, which shows you 20 tiles in every direction from your character.  The next option is zoomed in, default colors.  This looks exactly the same, but zooms you in so that you are viewing 10 tiles in every direction.The rest of the graphic options come in pairs as well.  One version will be the normal 20 tile radius, and the next will zoom in to show only 10 tiles.  The zoomed in view enlarges the graphics, helping people see who could not normally make out the screen.The next 2 options are called Inverted graphics.  These flip the colors that are used to represent the map.  The normally red floors and yellow walls are replaced with cyan and blue.  I imagine people view colors differently here in the c
 ommunity, so it may help some players to be able to invert the colors.Next is Highest contrast.  This removes color for the terrain and replaces it with a black, white, and gray view.  Black represents walls, White is open area, and gray is impassable terrain such as Brush Creek.  This is meant to hide all but the most basic map information, and to show it with as much contrast as possible.Inverted contrast is the opposite.  White is walls, Black is open area, and gray is still impassable.  When reading text, some people do better with black lettering on white backgrounds while others do better with white lettering on black backgrounds.  I assume the same would be true for the map graphics, and this lets you try both.I'm not sure if opening a separate web browser window will introduce new bugs or not.  I'd prefer to avoid that.Sneak, Well done on the raffle man!  You rock big time.  Pitbull, yes you get a new title each time you go from hardcore back to normal.  Clan ownership will not automatically go to another person, so people will need to hand ownership over to another person before they convert their character.Themadviolinist, Nice catch on those typos!  I've corrected my change log (and the above post) so they match what is in the game.  It was just 1% off from head, shoulders, and chest.  Explaining the armor can be a bit tricky to people who aren't good with percentages, but here goes.To start out, lets assume you have no points in any of the armors.  You are wearing medium armor legs, and a high armor chest.  Medium armor protects 50-55, so we multiply that by the 20% the leg category is worth.  We get 10-11% overall protection.  Next, high armor protects 65-70 and the chest category is worth 24
 %.  15.6-16.8% overall protection from the chest armor.  So added, you have 25.6-27.8% protection from zombies.  If some big zombie tried to hit you for 20 damage, you would actually be hit for around 14 or 15 damage.  25% of 20 damage is 5, so the armor protected you from 5 damage during that attack.  You end up being hurt by the remaining 15 damage.Based on the maximums listed in the change log, you'll see that each armor skill point raises its defense by 0.45.  In this very same situation, lets assume you have put 50 points into high armor (Juggernaught).  The medium leg armor still works out to 10-11% overall protection.  The high chest armor starts out being worth 65-70, but you add 50 points times 0.45, bringing it up to 87.5-92.5.  Multiply that by the 24% chest category and you get 21-22.2% overall protect.  So our leg armor and chest armor combined give 31-33.2% protection from damage.  If that same zombie t
 ried to hit you for 20 damage, you end up being hurt for about 13 damage.Only saved 2 points?  Haha!  Doesn't seem like those 50 points helped much, but remember that this hypothetical guy is only wearing 1 piece of high armor.  Each additional piece would have been boosted by the same skill points, thus having a much nicer overall effect.  When maxed out with 200 skill points, players could reach the maximum 95% protection even with low armor (I think).  Using better armors will let people keep maximum 95% protection while still using one or two of the new zero-protection armors.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=169896#p169896

@SLJ:I'm not sure if your post was directed at me or to A Little Gamer, either way...my issue isn't limited to just the messages ap. It refuses to let me hold down delete to clear out an entire block of text in any edit field.Also, I can't believe I forgot about this! My Talkback speech volume is linked to the music volume. Every time I plug in headphones and want to turn up my speech, the warning about listening to music at high volumes appears and if I can't find and double-tap on the OK button fast enough, the message goes away and I have to make it come back up again. I have searched for ways to disable this and there are several fixes such as rooting your phone and getting some custom modification ap so you can disable the warning. There is also supposed to be a setting under the google music player's settings called Smart Volume, but that is apparently on a Samsung Galaxy S4 running stock firmware because my Moto G doesn't have tha
 t option. On the Motorola forums, someone posted that you need to hold down the volume up key at the same time you tap the OK button. Unfortunately, the message disappears too fast for me to do this. Besides, even if I were able to do this successfully and it disabled the warning, it apparently comes back after a device reboot. This is particularly annoying to me because I am totally blind save for light perception and have a moderate hearing impairment. Oh well. I suppose after some more trial and error I'll learn exactly where the OK button is, then I won't even be bothered because I'll be able to get to it quickly and just tap the message away like any normal person would. Violinist, I think I actually will do that.  Mehgcap has been patiently waiting for me to stop adding new stuff to it anyway, haha!  By listing it here, Mehgcap will get his hands on it finally, and other people can skim through to see what will be arriving very soon.  Keep in mind that during these final tests, some of these details could end up being changed, and it's possible that a few extra things could get added.  My amazing testing team is working on some more balance tweaks with mission rewards, and I still need to write up the gamer account information page, and add in a "resend email" feature.  If all goes smoothly, we could be looking at the new version going live by Monday!    I'm very excited!Here is what the changelog is currently.  At the time of this post, the update is not finished!  I ima
 gine at least a few people will see that a change log was posted, so they'll assume the new version has gone live.  Changes from version 3.1 to version 3.2 (so far)- Fixed a small bug involving how the long bow and the short bow were tracked by the server.- I think I've fixed the bug that could delete all of your ammo after ending a sniper mission or LMS mission.- Fixed a bug in the armor which prevented it from cycling properly between your choices.- Team warehouse missions have been changed.  The number of zombies has been reduced.  As long as they survive until the end, the losing team does not lose their equipment once the match ends.  It is treated the same as losing in a Sniper or LMS mission, so you get to keep your equipment, you just don't get the mission rewards.  This was the original plan, but the missio
 n type treated loosing as a death because I had had several people request it to be that way.  It was worth giving it a try, but people seem unwilling to even play the Team warehouse missions because they fear the harsh consequences of losing.  Hopefully this change breathes new life into the mission.- The skill Streaker has been replaced with the new skill Innocence.  Each point spent on Innocence subtracts 1 from your character's level, when increasing the strength and damage of zombies.  This skill also lowers the odds of getting bloody clothes in the same way.- Killing zombies with the Winchester, Marlin, and Remington now give you more XP and 5 times more reputation than they did before.  This makes them excellent weapons for getting experience and reputation fast.- Added a new armor type called Quiver, which is worn on the shoulders.  It provides no armor, but wearing it will make you feel more like Robin Hood, lowering the

Holy shit Aprone and no apologies for the profanity.  You've been a busy little beaver, so busy that I think you've missed a math-o in the armor.  Your locations list total 103%.  Is that intentional?  And, will you explain a little more about how the armor percentage works?  Let's say I have chest armor medium and 20 points in the appropriate skill (one-man army I think)  Does this mean that the damage is reduced by a factor of from 70% to 75% (the 50 to 55 for medium armor plus my 20 points?  Is this a reduction in the amount or the chance that no damage occurs?  This is important for figuring out an armor strategy.I love the new clothing items and the choice they impose between protection and faster offense.  Am I going to wear the quiver or the football shoulder pads, a decision that might change between long bow and short bow.  I love the innocents skill; that's a fabulous way of giving players the o

In just about all card games, you win by luck.  Secondly, there were reasons why I needed to put my controls the way I did. Holy feature list! The only thing I'm sad about is the loss of the super-fast short bayonet for the AK. Upgrade that thing, and you were pretty much set! There is an option in the settings screen called "Dropdown Menu." Uncheck this and the game will likely behave nicer with your screen reader if it doesn't like menus. I prefer it as I think the interface seems easier this way. Normally, when you click on an area such as trainer, it will show you the different sections and let you pick one to go straight to. With this box unchecked, clicking trainer will take you to the initial trainer page, with links to each other section just after the main navigation. I can tell that aprone also will get a note in this article. aprone when you've read this do you want to reply?this is what i posted on the website:23-03-2014  today i (pelantas) haven't added a review but i have other news to report. the page  lords and knights  we (maaike and myself) added last month, has been vanished.  i toke it down cause it is pretty unclear wich course it takes in the case of accessibility. Maaike told me that at certain points the app closes down, on the market for example or with sending a private message to another player.  if you get a notification that you should update the app, don't do this. the app will also run while you haven't updated it to the newest version.  this also is the case for the IOS game celtic tribes. we aren't sure 
 how it is the case for the other games of this developer. but we asume it is exactly the same.  another sad news ...  the developer aprone, who made the two games:  swamp  and  cast aways  wich can be found in the online games database, has announced that he will stop the free multiplayer modes of his games due to hackers who liked it to hack the swamp server. aprone tried on many ways to avoid payments for his online modes of his games but hadn't found another solution than this way. The costs are minimal and the idea is that you pay up for a full year and that you'll have acces to his online multiplayer games again. You not only will get acces to swamp again, but also to his newer online projects wich are still in buildingstages. This payment idea is coupled with a account wich are called kaldobsky-accounts.  we, the members on audiogames.net have devoted to buy a kaldobsky account when they're ready.  a personal no

Eh, I'm not so sure, most of the options are aesthetic. The only one that would probably be applicable is "Switch/Set' which basically determines if you can switch while a trainer is battling or not. Volume settings make more sense to be accessible at any time, especially since you need to "hear" what has to be done.Sounds like a plan. Can you get the sound of the "pokeball counter" in R/S/E too? Basically, that's the sound it makes for each pokemon that your enemy has on its team. Maaike told me that at certain points the app closes down, on the market for example or with sending a private message to another player.  if you get a notification that you should update the app, don't do this. the app will also run while you haven't updated it to the newest version.  this also is the case for the IOS game cel
 tic tribes. we aren't sure how it is the case for the other games of this developer. but we asume it is exactly the same.  another sad news ...  the developer aprone, who made the two games:  swamp  and  cast aways  wich can be found in the online games database, has announced that he will stop the free multiplayer modes of his games due to hackers who liked it to hack the swamp server. aprone tried on many ways to avoid payments for his online modes of his games but hadn't found another solution than this way. The costs are minimal and the idea is that you pay up for a full year and that you'll have acces to his online multiplayer games again. You not only will get acces to swamp again, but also to his newer online projects wich are still in buildingstages. This payment idea is coupled with a account wich are called kaldobsky-accounts.  we, the members on audiogames.net have devoted to buy a kaldobsky account when they
 9;re ready.  a personal note to you aprone, you deserve it and you have done everything you could to avoid this payments. you rock that you've kept your games for free for such a long time. hopefully your games will be left alone for now and the community who love your work will get a chance to play in peace and without disturb from people who are just jealous on your work and talents. allthough in my surroundings my compagnon maaike and i will keep playing your games and i have seen other members on the forum who also will keep playing  this were two articles we discovered and found on the forum. while it is sad news, we can only hope that the developers from lords and knights, celtic tribes etc will do a update soon so the game doesn't crash anymore, and maaike and myself hope that aprones work will be left alone, to him and the community alone.  this was a long article compared with the others we wrote but there was news to report and a bit of backgrou

 gine at least a few people will see that a change log was posted, so they'll assume the new version has gone live.  Changes from version 3.1 to version 3.2 (so far)- Fixed a small bug involving how the long bow and the short bow were tracked by the server.- I think I've fixed the bug that could delete all of your ammo after ending a sniper mission or LMS mission.- Fixed a bug in the armor which prevented it from cycling properly between your choices.- Team warehouse missions have been changed.  The number of zombies has been reduced.  As long as they survive until the end, the losing team does not lose their equipment once the match ends.  It is treated the same as losing in a Sniper or LMS mission, so you get to keep your equipment, you just don't get the mission rewards.  This was the original plan, but the missio
 n type treated loosing as a death because I had had several people request it to be that way.  It was worth giving it a try, but people seem unwilling to even play the Team warehouse missions because they fear the harsh consequences of losing.  Hopefully this change breathes new life into the mission.- The skill Streaker has been replaced with the new skill Innocence.  Each point spent on Innocence subtracts 1 from your character's level, when increasing the strength and damage of zombies.  This skill also lowers the odds of getting bloody clothes in the same way.- Killing zombies with the Winchester, Marlin, and Remington now give you more XP and 5 times more reputation than they did before.  This makes them excellent weapons for getting experience and reputation fast.- Added a new armor type called Quiver, which is worn on the shoulders.  It provides no armor, but wearing it will make you feel more like Robin Hood, lowering the
