If a wireless keyboard comes with its own dongle it's often but not always using its own radio system, your old wireless keyboard is probably one of these not a bluetooth one so that's why it may not be recognised as a bluetooth device.Are you pressing the Fn key instead of control? Some keyboards have the Fn key left of control and some to the right. Holding Fn while pressing the function keys usually swaps between them acting as volume up/down/whatever and the actual numbered F key as well.Hope some of this helps.

If by flat you are refering to flat review or the JAWS cursor, my thoughts on this are the same as using the document model on the web. It's a good last ditch possibility if you need to scrape the screen for text in, say, steam, but to make sense of anything in an app, no. It may be faster because you don't need to find a list and then enter it to see its items, but at least if you enter that list you can read the full contents. I often find that flat review chops the ends of text off, and when you get into high-DPI displays which are getting more, not less common, good luck clicking anything.@sebby spotlight is probably your best replacement for the run dialog. In Yosemite, typing in an app name will launch it, typing in an address will open it, you can do unit conversion and math inside it, and if this is still not enough you can install searchlight and expand spotlight with more plugins

ehI tried a couple: Meetme and moonit are ok. Moonit was better but its still usable. They are a bit commited to accessibility if you tell them what's wrong. Meetme, the mobile and desktop site are usable but deskstop site is a bit slow and sluggish. Badoo used to be ok but now it sucks, accessibility wise.Lastly, get a profile pic and don't tell girls straight away that you are blid.

Hey guys.While looking at the recent reviews on the mud connector, I saw a review for a game called flux world. The review made it sound truely unique, and boy is it ever. The mud is set in the future, on a planet called flux world. You begin in the visitor's center of the main station, which will help you get started. The station is the main hub of the game, and various paths brantch outward from there. The world may seem rather small at first glance, but some exploration quickly reveals this is certainly not the case, the game in fact contains over 1800 rooms. Those used to most muds will be surprised at the amount of things to do, combined with the fact that combat is not a main aspect of gameplay, in fact it's mostly religated to a few combat specific areas, called killing fields, or kf. There are three stats for the rpg (the combat area,) strength, dexterity and intelligence. However, increasing these stats is still important even if you don'
 ;t intend to partake in combat, because they're used in doing other activities. Speaking of activities, I haven't even touched on those yet. I'll simply list some of the things there are to do in flux world. Mining: venture to the caves and mine minerals for money.Quests: explore the world and find secret exits to be rewarded handsomely.Puzzle houses: Find your way through several shifting mazes for good money. Catch me: If you see this creature, try and catch it by picking it up for money.Scavenger hunts: Find various items scattered about flux world. Runes: Find various runes around the world and turn them in. Cash purses: There are cash purses just laying around, waiting for you to pick them up. Social hang outs: Hang out at the bar, various places to eat, etc. Gamble at the bar, playing various games such as poker, craps, black jack, etc. Four types of currency: Fluxbucks, the most common currency, sil
 ver, gold, and platinum. Silver and gold are used for certain shops, but not platinum. You can convert between currencies at the flux bank. A fully functioning power grid, that will need to be repaired from time to time. Vehicles: Flux world uses several modes of transportation, and the all have uses. Trains, planes, ships, and even space travel. Flux world has two moons, both of which can be traveled to, as well as other things in space. I've only mentioned just a handful of things there are to do in this mud. It's a virtual world unlike any I've ever seen. If anyone is interested, you can connect with a mud client. There is a pokemon audiogame in developmentthough it's still in demo phase at the moment, however it has lots of the pokemon plus much of the plot, characters and setting of the first Pokemon game, and the gb music. See the thread on braillemon in the new releases room for details, though as I said bare in mind it's still a work in progress. I can't give too much detail sinse I've only just started on it myself, but it looks awsome.There are two pokemon browser rpgs that I know of, Pokemon moon  and another called tppc, though I don't have the link for that one. To be honest though neither I thought was too impressive, lots of flash pannels and adds and a very unbalanced battle system, as well as very little by way of descriptive txt or logic, plus the help files were pretty dire. On the plus side though, there are two browser games I can highly recommend. Neither is exactly pokemon but hav
 e many of the same mechanics and activities, and both can be found in the db. The first is Monbre, aka monster breeder. Has a very similar world to pokemon with breeding centers, monster breeding, and monsters of several types to battle all with special moves. Exploration is great and there are some uique enemies, though unfortunately the game hasn't been updated in about three years which is a shame sinse the story and world are great. The second and major one is Puppet nightmares, which is best described as a twisted, evil version of pokemon. There are hundreds of different soul puppets to collect, and battles are some of the most complex you can imagine, sinse you have three different soul puppets, all of whom act in battles. There are stats, there are elemental weaknesses, there is a ful equipment and generation system, you can feed your soul puppets, send them on adventures without you and even breed them at the bordello to produce new eggs, as well as finding
  eggs in dungeons. It also has probably the nicest system for custom currency and items I've seen, sinse you can get the custom currency by playing in small amounts.Very dark, quite twisted and with an ongoing story, though note you'll need to know how to navigate complex controls in web pages such as mouseovers and clicking hotspots. My only issue with the game is that while the story and dialogue are great, the descriptions are a trifle lacking, especially in battles.See the db page on puppet nightmares for more details. Hth.

@pitermach: yeah, Spotlight is seeing more love, but OS X still doesn't have a simple way to run an executable with arguments, AFAICT. That is damn useful when your SR has locked up again ( oh wait, that never happens on OS X, does it?  ) and you're trying to do a "taskkill /f /t /im:nvda*" to kill it.How do you do conversions in Spotlight? Will they work with suggestions turned off? If not, bummer--I can't have them enabled.Thanks; will check out Searchlight, looks very interesting.

I'd personally recommend not bothering. The free sites are full of trolls, and the paid sites are full of false profiles, indeed I've heard that when you actually find real women on there frequently they're just looking for a free meal out, and %90 of the time any women's profiles have just been setup by the site owners to trick money out of their male visitors.

Dicey proposal. Personally, I say download the game and try it in demo mode. If you like it, buy it. If you don't, then don't. You will get many many hours of the same sort of action you got in the demo. The story does go in a lot of directions, and parts of it are good. But now here's where I start waving flags.If you're expecting top-notch dialogue, deep characters and engaging plot, stop right here. You're going to get basically none of that. I won't spoil anything specific, but everything feels very pallid and shallow. The story has the illusion of length and depth purely because so much happens...and on that front, at least, I'll give the developer his due and say that he's full of ideas.Some of the boss fights are very interesting too, but some of them are downright frustrating. I had some modest trouble with a few of them where timing is absolutely essential, and I was part of a rather lively discussion in which several 
 of the participants swore they simply could not get past certain boss fights. When that sort of hurdle is placed in the path of a gamer rather than, say, something that requires ingenuity or cleverness to solve, it leaves me, personally, with a sour taste.For all those things, however, Paladin is basically the first RPG of its kind. It's long, it will let you grind to your heart's content if that's what you like, and it's got a lot of different enemies in it. The music is really quite good, the areas are surprisingly big and confusing, and if the story is a little on the shaky side you'll probably forget about it while you're exploring and finding items.In a nutshell: this is a flawed but fairly solid prototype, and sets a benchmark for future developers to jump. I bought the game and I don't regret doing so.

Locutus,Depending on what your primary class is, you might experience some slowdown around level 24-25, but you shouldn't be completely overwhelmed by then. With all the quests and deeds and areas to grind in, I can usually be comfortable even around level 28 or so. At that point, your ability to group is apt to get people to ask you to join them, but you're under no obligation to do so. If you'd rather keep cool and learn bits and pieces on your own, then do that. Go to the mainland around level 28-30, and explore around Ralnoth itself...see what you can handle. Necromancers, with a little complement of minions, are excellent at doing this.The mainland is huge. I'm really really eager to get to a point where I can solo a lot of it, if not all of it. I've seen some areas that I couldn't dream of soloing any time soon, but that's fine, because I've seen many areas - travelled through them in groups and such - that look soloable i
 f you're careful and at a sufficient level. There are dozens upon dozens of areas and quests, so if you don't let yourself get overwhelmed by the grouping aspect - and that might be key - then you should do all right.Good luck to ya.

@Jayde, I take your point on the dialogue, although for me the main inequities in the plot were more the moments when you ended up having random stuff happen that seemed more there to get you into a specific area of the game than because it made sense with the over all plot and characters, but I could appreciate it for what it was. What bothered me more was the lack of environmental descriptions, after all what is the point of having a hole bunch of enemy names when you have no idea what a fat murderer or a scarlet thief actually is. That being said there were some really quite unique sections, and I did like the effort to tie dream sequences and in particular Ross's back story to the main plot of the game, which worked especially well with the high quality of the music.

The only two frustrating Things I have seen so far is the following:1: Totally random enemy spawning, even if you have visited the area before. It can be quite frustrating in some areas if you just wanna explore, take a few steps and suddenly an enemy pops up Again.2: On the virtual machine I'm using, timing the scrolls are very difficult if not nearly impossible. I have to pres the attack key as soon as the beeps are played, not a milli second after or before. I know this is because I'm laying this on a virtual machine. Trying to mess around with the sound Card driver is not a good idea. Trust me, I have tried multiple times, and I just ended up by crashing the Whole system.I wish there was a calibrate system for the scrolls. But I'm not giving up. It just takes forever for me to do those scrolls right, and it's quite frustrating when you have to walk through a very big dungeon to find a boss, can't save the game before the battle, you m
 ess up the scroll because you're playing on a virtual machine and you have to do it over Again. Yes, you can practice the scrolls which I've done a lot, but when you have to press the attack key the same milli second as the beep is playing, then I find it very difficult.Otherwise, I still fully agree on what has been said so far.

Hi.Hmm. That sounds weird.Sounds like it's an issue with your graphic Card driver or your video intercept driver. See if there's any update to your graphic Card.Then, totally uninstall Jaws and the shared components, use NVDA while doing so, otherwise you'll have no speech afterwards, and then try to install the latest version of Jaws your licens will let you use.Please let me know how it goes.

I took a note of these models and brands down, so I'll be sure to go and check them out. Do you know of any place I can go to here in the United States where I can try out the headphones before I buy them? If you just search for the word 'habitrpg' it should come right up.It's basically a productivity tool, setting yourself reminders of things you're supposed to do (or things you're not supposed to do), but with some game mechanics mixed in, so if you fail at your goals that you've set for yourself you lose health, if you succeed you gain experience, levels, equipment etc.

Even on native windows Slj, the timing of the scrolls is very harsh indeed, and you pretty much have to know them in advance and be very familiar with the timings to get through them, which for some of the longer scrolls can be a pest. Likewise, enemy spawning I didn't mind so much as the fact that sinse you don't even have a way of checking if you have visited an area before, you spend lots of time wandering around in dungeons and retracing your steps, which could probably be cut if the exploration was a little clearer,  I get that the developr didn't want a coordinates system or anything to make navigation too easy, but I don't think a "have I visited here before" key is too excessive.

I'm at Dragon Tooth now, and am thinking of heading into the dark forest. Curious thing though. Once I get out of the town, none of the paths have any sort of descriptions to them, and I seem to recall they used to when I was there last. I don't have brief mode enabled, so it can't be that... Well I just remembered about this and tried it, it's awsome! a great way of getting some of the things I've wanted from youtube, and it'll be very helpful when I'm next having to learn a song and use youtube for a performance. Is there any chance searching youtube directly could be added in the future? That might be helpful when looking for things, obviously there are other programs such as net browsers, but it'd be nice to have in one package, plus Pontes media downloader could likely do a better job with displaying search results than youtube sometimes does.

Hello.Today I discovered that, when I locked my comp By clicking on lock, or By ctrl and l, after or before the standard logoff sound, it beeps.Does anyone know why it does that, does it have anything to do with me adding a bios administrator password while attempting to get my fingerprint scanner to work, another thing that i've been fiddling with like 3 months now and still it won't work. And drivers are installed and stuff.

What operating system are you running? It doesn't sound like a standard Windows feature so if you are running Windows you may need to look to third party software you have installed. Also a bios password should only limit access to the bios, unless you have it set to request on boot which would only affect the boot up and not log off, so I don't see that as being the issue unless something very strange is going on.

What operating system are you running? It doesn't sound like a standard Windows feature so if you are running Windows you may need to look to third party software you have installed. Also a bios password should only limit access to the bios, unless you have it set to request on boot which would only affect the boot up and not log off, so I don't see that as being the issue unless something very strange is going on.Edit:Hmm, so there is a lock option in Windows, I never knew that was there before. I'm curious though why you want to lock your computer if you're logging off.

@cx2: There are actually some newer computers that support finger print recognission for you to log in to the system. These are usually windows 8 computers, and technology that has just recently came out I think.

I have produced things in BGT that it's certainly not designed for: A text file merger and at once searcher, a shutdown assistant program to help schedule the shutdown or restart and possibly change or cancel it, an OCR corrector (it has a smart punctuation remover and evaluator, the ability to join or split lines intelligently, a batch mistake corrector based on a dictionary file and many others), and some include classes, among them a bunch of scripts called l10n_utils that can retrieve information about a user's locale directly through the Windows API dll's. All this stuff is certainly going to be released at some point.I think an utility with a systray icon is next on the to do list.The only thing I see as a problem about this approach is that there is no real visual GUI, only the simulated auditory one. :-)Just to let you know that this can be done if needed.Lukas

hi,Locking and logging off have differences. For example, when you lock your Computer, the applications open do not close. When you log off, all the applications currently open will close.

Yeah im also wondering how i can make it so i can use my finger print to log on to my Computer rather than with a password. From what i've heard, a fingerprint is much more secure than a password and logging on to the Computer is as easy as swiping my finger over the reader. That is why I went to the Bios to look up if i have to enable finger print identification.Someone who asked what Windows im running, its a 32 bit Windows 7.

Hi.Thank you all for the posts.There are a couple of things that are putting me off slightly from buying the game.Firstly, as dark said, I would like to have a key that tells you if you've been here before. I often find myself wondering aimlessly with no idea if i've visited that location before trying to find something that I know is there. I also don't like the fact that you have to be exact, and I mean exact, with the scroll timing. I think this needs to be slightly more forgiving, especially with some of the longer srolls, and for people who are playing on virtual machines or have slower processors.I would also like to see different ways of fighting rather than just using dragon scrolls constantly, as that gets a bit repetitive and old. Maybe some sort of weapons or equipment system. You can roll dice, but I don't use that very much because I find it to be ineffective on the higher levels.

This year we will be attending the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, where we will be participating in a Panel Discussion on the subject of 10 years of game accessibility. Here's a description of what it will be about:"In the ten years that the IGDA's accessibility group has been running we have seen many advances in the field, with awareness growing, and more and more developers considering accessibility for gamers with disabilities. But there's a long way to go, with work still needed to remove barriers in areas such as hardware, software, third party tools, online communities, education and policy. We will be taking a retrospective of some of the key achievements and developments over the past ten years, and with your input, also look at the next important areas to focus on, providing a roadmap of how all of us can help the industry move towards greater inclusion, allowing the entertainment and quality of life benefits of gaming to reach even wider audiences."For this Panel session we would love your input! Step to the right and keep pressing Enter as you go until you hear the voice say "This table contains the professor's last Pokémon." (Paraphrasing, but you get the idea.) Then press enter again and you should hear one of the Pokémon cries and then it's name being announced. If it's Squirtle and you don't want it, choose "No" and step to the right twice, then press Enter again and you should hear Charmander's cry and his name being announced. Do the same again if you want Bulbasaur. If you start on Bulbasaur but don't want it, do the same thing but step to the left instead of the right.Hope this helps!

All right, pledged £80 a while ago.Would pledge even more if only I could afford it. Part of the reason I pledged such a relatively high amount, at least for an unemployed totally blind person, is that I would really love to be able to help beta test the game, so I had to do that when this is the official way. The other part is that I simply have to see this game completed, and would do everything I could to help make this a reality.An audiogame comparable to the Final Fantasy series, or just an audiogame of any genre in general with similar audio quality and complexity, has always been one of my biggest dreams. And even if this was the first and last audiogame of its kind ever finished and released, it would be well worth the effort. Not to mention that if Three Monkeys does actually succeed even on the mainstream level, it could serve as the base, as the starting point for other potential mainstream developers to start making games of a similar nature.This really seems like it has the immense potential it promises, and that we've all been waiting for for ages. A concept demo or at least a gameplay trailer is in my opinion really vital not only for the visually impaired players but especially for the sighted ones, so that they would be able to judge the game's true complexity, nature and spirit in advance, but even the quality of the audio demonstrated in the Kickstarter video convinced me this was really worth the money, and left me desperately craving for more. :-DI can't wait to see how you actually implement and balance the RPG elements together with the gradually evolving and twisting storyline and the realtime mechanics. One of my greatest concerns, however, is whether the game is going to present some real challenge even to a totally blind player who's had some experience with a few older mainstream gems (Tomb Raider, Resident Evil, Metal Gear Solid and such, and yes, I know each of these is of a different genre, but they're all certainly challenging, complex and engaging), and who's tried out about every single one of the different audiogames out there.It would be somewhat bitter to see a game with a real story and such brilliant, beautiful audio take just a while to complete for someone like me. I do dare to call myself a truly experienced and demanding audiogamer who does have some comparison to the mainstream standards in terms of challenge and audio quality.Will be watching out for every single piece of news on this one!Thanks, and keep up the great work, guys!Lukas

I agree with your comments there Briant, however note that firstly some issues aren't as bad as you might think. Sinse you have to do the dragonstrike scrolls so often, they soon become second nature, or at least that was what I found, and while some of the tougher ones (especially one character), were pretty hard it was a question of practice and with all the enemies you need to fight you get plenty of that. Likewise, with exploring while the areas were ery large, if you hit C you can hunt for items (around the edges of the casino there are several), and in some of the really huge areas if you need to wander out into the center of a big area there are some clues, for example with the wings, they're basically set out like a number of rectangles stuck ontop of each other with the steps and teleporter back to the floor of the ship on the bottom one, the teleporter to the next wing up on the top one, and a small gap to go in between. Sinse however the gaps to go betw
 een the rectangles are all roughly in a streight line, once you have found one you can find others. Secondly, despite it's problems Paladin of the Sky does have some pretty major plus points in terms of it's plot and story, and at least partly it's exploration and environments, and you can't get away from the fact that those are very good things. for me, while I recognize the inequities I decided to buy the game, both because I really liked the good points of what I did! see, and because as Brian P said, I thought supporting gstorm was a good idea, after all considering paladin of the sky is their second game and their first was adventure at C: you can see where things are going, (and that's not to speak of some future upgrades to paladin of the sky).

Hello,@oriol: While I can access the site just fine, I have a friend who can not access your site due to it being blocked, for some reason, by macafee site adviser. I don't know if there's anything you can do, or whether the website is just so new that macafee haven't checked it yet. I'm not really sure what's going on there, but this friend of mine can't access any page of your site at all.

I won't say these sites are all a scam because I know of people that have met their SO through a dating site, though I don't know these people well enough to ask details they're not the kind to make things up. What I will say is the chances are the balance of genders is probably such that most users are men looking for women, and that things are very difficult if you're not in a good job since most of the genuine women seem to be those whose busy careers don't leave them much time to find someone.

Oh so you mean it plays the logoff sound when you lock it, I thought you were trying to lock it after you logged off from your description.Bryant, there have been fingerprint readers for computers for years at least since the early XP days, they just seemed to go away for a while. If they're making a return appearance complete with support built into Windows that's very interesting news.

I might have to try it again, I tried the demo when it first came out and Liam was streaming it non-stop. I thought it was pretty bad to be honest. The dialog was mediocre at best, the scrolls were downright infuriating, i mean i had to try the first tutorial thing like a good dozen or so times. I did enjoy the exploration parts but again as discussed by others, some of the areas are too big. My opinion at the time was it felt like alpha software. Maybe this has changed, I don't know if the developer has put in any updates since then but it needs updates if nothing has changed.But to those who enjoy it buying it is not only a good way to support the developer but it is encouragement for other devs to make games. It's cool when a free game is published, and some of them are very good, but we lack really great games, like AAA titles. The best so far is probably Swamp. And I'm not knocking the paid offerings like Judgement Day and so forth, they are very good bu
 t we need really top notch games. That means hard work, lots of time and dedication from developers and this is not likely to happen if people complain about paying for games, everyone else pays for good games, we should too.

@threeblacknoises - we're targeting Steam, but I can't see why we wouldn't do a DRM-free version. It's certainly something I'll push for. AS for the physical OST, yes -- we'll absolutely have an audio commentary track. As for your final question, we're hoping that even if the Kickstarter fails, it'll still see the light of day - but this far from a certainty. We've had a lot of interest from publishers and investors, but it's a niche game - and the Kickstarter in many ways is to prove there's a market out there for such a game. We really need this to succeed. @Lukas - firstly, thanks so much for your pledge; really means a lot to us. Completely agree with you on the demo / gameplay trailer front. We do have a tech demo, which we've taken to several shows, but it's really not representative of final quality. As development progresses, however, I'll be making sure we share what we're up to along 
 the way, and make sure you guys get a demo of some description before release. Your next point about difficulty - or how challenging the game is - is an interesting one. While the game is for everybody, there'll obviously be varying degrees of  skill and competency based on experience with other audio games. I have ideas about how we combat this, and ensure the game has the breadth and depth to satisfy all. Whether this comes in the form of difficult post game content, or a side quest for a legendary weapon, I think we'll be able to achieve this. I think that would be too many coincidences if every single of them would lack some driver updates.About reinstalling JAWS, I have to tell you that I can't do that. The reason is not the lack of required knowledge, but the fact that I don't have a license code right now. I have bought it, but it's a bit more complicated. @jesseleivo, do you have NvDA and are you running the ClipCopy addon? If you accidentally pressed shift+f12, this is the reason why. This shortcut key makes NVDA beap whenever the mouse moves (that is, changing windows and stuff like that). If you do not have this addon, or this feature is not enabled, I'm not sure what's going on. It could be windows notifying you that its waiting for fingerprint identification and that you should do it then, perhaps?

You can cut trees by getting the H M 1 Cut from the ship captain on the S S Anne. You can teach a pokemon cut in the same way that you can teach them any other T M move. After you teach them, simply walk right next to a tree and press enter and it will ask you if you want to cut it.Espeon and Umbreon are programmed into the game but they will not evolve until a certain condition is met. They normally evolve with happiness depending on the time of day (Espeon is day, Umbreon is night) but you will have to complete the game and get Postgame mode in order to get it. Of course, I haven't developed that far yet lol, so they are in there, just not obtainable. The only eons available right now are Vaporeon, Jolteon and Flareon. Don't feel too bad about evolving your eon though, you can breed more.
