I have a galaxy S5 and to my eternal regret, decided to update to lollipop when offered. Big mistake. I can't seem to type properly now; after pressing the first letter that is auto-capitalized, talkback doesn't read any subsequent letters on  the keyboard, but does read some buttons like symbols and backspace. I've tried doing this with both google and samsung keyboard, with the same results. Can anyone help me? My phone is as good as unuseable with my ability to type gone. I also have the latest talkback, which doesn't seem to help.

I've got mortal kombat x preordered. Also, you can do dualshock 3s on windows 8.1. You have to use MotioninJoy to install the drivers then use better DS3 to emulate a xbox 360 controller. If you use the xbox 360 preset you get vibration support and steam games just detect your controller no extra messing about needed.

If you were wundering why we admins were raving about the slot machines ripping us off on chat then someone suddenly dieing, its because yes, finily, slot machines are implemented for next update and yes, we got into a spacebar brall, resulting in the rather violant death of someone, fortunitly said insadent took place in deep space. And no, we're not cleaning up the mess we caused in the station. JK. Anyways, i've also fixt up the recent bug with upgrading sensors crashing the game, and the newest change, which may effect you. When using shields, if they go down now they will become damaged, and will not be able to be restarted until you repair the generator. This stops people from winning fights by powering on their shields after they go offline.

Hi, i've used ubuntu mate no problems accept for the previously mentioned accessibility problems. Its a nice alternitive to gnome, speshily since if I remember correctly, the gnome-session-fallback which used to be installable with older versions of gnome 3 had a less functional panel. I intend at somepoint to give ubuntu another go around once I can actually boot it, but currently i'm running a vmware version of ubuntu mate and it works fine for me no problems.

I've been considering going cross platform, hopefully at some point i'll be able to acquire an android device to begin development on. At some point, when I do go in to apply for a programming job, I do intend to learn another language, but I mainly do this as a hobby and I don't intend to rush into a job with computer development any time soon, though I have had a summer one last summer working with animals, specificly cats, so I am prepared once I do go out to look for a job.

Playstation blog says the text to speech will be for the whole graphical user interface, including message and party. Not really sure about the wording... or why they specifically mentioned party and messaging, but unless they're lying to us about the subject when they say the whole graphical user interface, then I think we're about to see something step up here! I think camlorn was that rude becasue he wanted to help us to acquire "professional skills", or at least not going in a dead end and say two years later "oh my god I want to create a bigger game, but without better skills and with my limited language i'm totally stuck!". This is a point of view anyone can understand That's what audiogames are laking of : professional tools and skills. How much people here asked for what is a hashmap or the classic "I want to make a game with a player who shoot at ennemies and the ennemies can gain life and I want the player to level up when he kills ennemies" (cf jonikster  )The problem behind theses questions is often a representation problem I think. Programmation is a way to represent complete
  scenes in videogames, in full text. If ou don't have it, you can't make the best game ever...Knowing different languages to be able to work on different projects is not a real problem. When you study programmation, you have to learn a lot of languages at the same time

@Aprone I hope you could fix this. I tried to go to sub 3 from map1, and now I'm just stuck. When I do /where JCion it says that I"m on sub 3, but i can't move or anything the chat works, but that's about it. i exited the game to see if when I came back it was working, but nothing. not sure what to do. it looks like the map is not loading, just an update. The shift D/A does turn me, and also moving the mouse, but I can't take any steps. my health is at 92, and people could heal me, but when I exit the game, and come back. is back at 92. I'm at 3/25 on sub 3get back to me on skype with any help. thanks. o yeah when I turn G's on there's nothing on the screen.

@assaultHate to nitpick here, but did you mean PS4?  It's interesting that Gamespot in this article, which I believe was posted earlier without a title neglect to mention the TTS support completely.  I'm curious to see what happens with this, based on the U.S. playstation blog's information.If this is true, Microsoft will have a job on their hands.  Not an impossible task for them by any means, but one that they'll need to rise too very soon if they are to even have a chance of pulling back their accessible status that they've kept for a long time.@RazorThat's definitely the case - Windows 10 could bring some interesting developments to the table.  It's possible that Microsoft

It's early in the morning. hahaha. but I agree... if this does turn out to be as good as I think ot looks, then Microsoft will definitely have to steup up, but as has already been said, windows 10 makes things a whole lot more interesting... though to be honest in the last year or so with Sony joining microsoft in letting customers use a website to basically do most console related matters made the ps3 and xbox360 pretty close to equal. But we'll see what developments arise starting tomorrow, I suppose.

Having messed with the xbox1 dpad playing KI, it's okay, and I can do typical quarter circle motions about 80% of the time after about two hours of playing with it. But it's still a far cry from the ps3's controller, but again, sony bias. haha.As to the big bad... I have absolutely no idea, and there's really no way to tell. Shinok was boring in MK 4.. with no moves of his own, which is below even Shang tsung who while he also copied other people, he at least had a few other special moves in his arsenal. But if his character design is improved, then I wouldn't mind him being the final boss. Haven't read the comics either, so I can't predict anything at this point. hahaha.

I would have to agree that Windows 8.1 runs much faster. It even has optimizations for lower spec hardware so you may very well see an improvement. I guess the real issue is finances, you really need to get a 64-bit computer whether you wish to run windows or linux or try for a hackintosh, but yeah the main problem is that 32 bit is just not good enough for modern apps. Plus a 64-bit PC gives you the opportunity to expand your RAM, because 32-bit can only handle like 3.8 and so another thing to note, is that if the video card in said PC is not great, it will not have VRAM so A, it will steal a bit of RAM from well, the RAM, and B, the processor has to work overtime to supplement the graphics card. You might wish to give Linux a try, unfortunately it is a bit messy if you've no experience in it because there are so many distributions of linux. There are two accessible ones, Vinux, which I don't care for, but uses Ubuntu 12.04 which is massively out of date. And Sonar, which uses Manjaro and the Gnome desktop and it is more up to date. Unfortunately, the sonar image is not working for me at the moment. You can also try mainstream linux which can be made accessible, I am about to experiment with Ubuntu Mate, oh and mate is pronounced, maté. I know there will be a bit of configuration to do to get the screenreader to start automatically, it's called Orca, but it might be worth it. This distro is fast and lightweight so it could definitely run on lower spec hardware.

A really strange and rather annoying netflix issue.

So I started using netflix yesterday, or at least tried to. I was already somewhat familliar with the interface from reading the guide on Apple Vis.Generally, the idea is that you can explore and swipe sometimes and see the title of videos under each of the headings that show up as buttons. In the top right there's a search box and the top left is your genre button. The problem is, nothing really shows when I'm dragging my finger. I've confirmed with several people running different devices (I even tested this on an iPad,) that we're supposed to see all the movies/tv shows that are under said headings. However, on my iPhone I almost see nothing. Whether I swipe or explore around the screen it literally makes no difference. The only things I see at the top are lanmark and or banner, and as I swipe I'll see number relating to the season or year. But other than that nothing. I can access the search box just by double tapping the top right hand corner, b
 ut see a very limited view of the results.I'm sorry if I've totally confused people. Its almost 3 AM and I'm about to go to bed but figured I'd at least try and see if I can throw something out there.

I agree with you crashmaster.When I joined the public school, I needed to buy a laptop, and there came an HP655 Note book. I needed it urgently, so I bought it, +the keyboard was and is still perfect for writing. Also the laptop is not big, knowing that it has a CD drive built-in.Well, to be honest the first complaints when I bought it was the power of processor. 1.4 GHZ isn’t so much. On the other hand the other desktop has a 3.0 GHZ processor and it runs good, but I’m not even satisfied with it. When going from 64 to 32 bit, it started working slower.Well when reformatting I’m not making that mistake secondly. I’ll go for 64 bit edition for sure.@ironcross32I’m actually at the final year of my public school, so I may consider buying a better laptop later.So far I don’t need a better one, just formatting it may be a good choice, but once I get a job I necessarily need to buy a great laptop.As about Linux I’m really not familiar with it. I don’t even have an idea how to get started and work with that. This certainly comes as a result of my busy time and obviously as a lack of information.

I figured it out, there's nothing wrong with the talkback or keyboard applications itself. Its a stupid bug in the tts framework that causes it to cut off very short sounds generated by tts. I experienced this with both eloquence and google's tts. Slowing down eloquence's rate to something like 55% fixed the problem, but listening to it now is painfully torturously slow. I think it got fixed in 5.1, so I'll have to wait for that update and hope it doesn't break more stuff along the way.

Hello,I’m actually a KitKat 4.4.2 user. The latest talk back wasn’t really such good, something I mentioned in a post in this forum.I don’t think weather this helps or not, but consider uninstalling the latest update of the talk back and update it again.Factory reset might be a good alternative if you don’t mind performing it. I tried it today and it resolved my problems which were the camera failure and the phone which used to get a black screen when the screen was in sleep mode.If you don’t have too much data on your phone, but if you have some necessary materials such as Ebooks or music or even videos, copy them into your computer via a USB cable, and then, again If you don’t mind losing your programs even though they can be backed up, I’d recommend performing the factory reset if you do not have important data. Then if you have, backing up would be a good idea and perform it after the data is backed up isn’t such a big deal. You will need to have sited assistance when the phone will return from factory reset. I don’t honestly know how you unable the accessibility in lollipop, but I myself chose to have a sited assistant, rather than trying to unable it on my own.

Hi Danny.Well if you manage to learn how to write scripts for an android you could send the scripts to me and I could compile and test them on my tablet. I've looked at scripts for android examples apparently there are a lot of them out there. The tricky part is writing for a touch screen which I don't quite understand but there are plenty examples on how to do it.

Times like this are one of the only times when I wish I had a ps4! Can't wait for news on this update and for some VI people to actually test it. lol

It's confirmed that it won't be able to read game menus, which is a shame, but I'm not entirely surprised... probably the same reason why there's been nothing developed that can read hard coded subtitles from videos.

hi assault.thanks for the info.yes it is very complicated, and a very sensitive issue ...but if it is true that we can interact with the system in a satisfactory manner, is a big step ...I think the next step forward for Sony, will in the future create conditions to this speech TTS to read the game menus.sony knows that this is still the most important to us ...I believe that sony will do everything to make it happen ...cheers.

Two things.I read on the Clok boards about training dummies.  Are those in the guardhouses?  Or do they even still exist?Also, does anybody have a system they used for learning to get around Arad?  Or did you just wander around til things started looking familiar?  I see that there's a coordinates system, but unless I'm mistaken, don't you have to be at a landmark to use it?  In other words, if you're in the wilderness, there's no way to figure out what you're headed toward or away from?

I've been thinking about this a little. I think the ps4 being able to read game menus might not be very difficult at all. The ps4 isn't a touch screen device, and really the only way to move around the game menus is with arrows. I don't know much about how the ps4 works from a programming perspective, but this makes me think that each item in the menu is a different element. This means that theoretically, all sony would need to do is give individual developers the ability to give parts of their game text labels that are sent to whatever tts engine they're using. I'm not sure how accuate this speculation is, but who knows. It might not be that far off, guys! I can say that for me, the ability to even navigate the menus of the system itself is a huge step forwards, and I think things can only improve from here.

Is this Okay?Also, these games are going to come out correct?I've seen a lot of reserve things like this where an author puts these kinds of things up to raise money for a project, and then it goes nowhere.$25 isn't a bad deal, but I just want to make sure the product is coming.I'm not trying to sound rood, and I defanately don't mind putting money into a good cause, but I always feel a little bad for the dev who gets money and is unable to deliver the promised product to the fans who buy it.If at all possibel, I will obtain the funds to reserve my copies by tomarro, if all goes well.I really, really, hope I'm not to late.PS: I'll check out that story section omce it's up.Later!

Well, even if they do give developers that ability, we're still laboring under the assumption that developers would want to implement these labels for game menus and text or whatnot. But just to be the realist among this group... keep in mind that the amount of people who actually need this tts functionality are actually les than the people who simply need high contrast and other visual text enhancements, so just because Sony has done this we shouldn't start assuming they're going to start making leaps and bounds. Think about how long it took them even to implement this, with a system that's had a graphical user interface since the ps3... which was about 10 years ago. Just a reminder to everyone that, yes, be excited... but this is far from the perfect godsend from sony that we want to think it is. lol

Well I think one of the biggest Problems was the Hardware architecture in previous consoles. I think the pc architecture makes it easier. TThats only my opinion. How much of thich is valid I donÄt know. @assault_freak I think you are right. I mean the possibility to use speech commands came only with the xbox 1 and the ps4. Hi.trent I don't fully agree with you.Afrim why go to 32 if you are on 64, 64 is ok, its ok if you have it and are used to it, most of my software is 32 bit and I had 4gb of ram.Any windows above 8 will be optimised mainly for tablets so it will run faster on lower spec systems.If your system is running slowly, you may want to restart it once in a while a lot of my family and clients I deal with put their system to sleep, and expect it to run nicely afterwards.Yes its ok but leaving it like that all night may not be the best thing or for several weeks, it puts stress on the power supply for one thing.and because windows does not clear its resource cache well you really need to restart.Checking what you have loaded is another thing.Trent the same issues about the ms account are the same I have about the cromebook or any system that needs to be online all the time.The net as we know is a fickle bastard, its never stable even
  when it is.It can go down at any time and if you have everything online, its fine as long as you can get online to access it.If you are ever away from the net well.Its why while I may have an ms account to access ms related stores and the like I won't be using one full time it will be something I log into once in a while.A local account means you can access your stuff anywhere you want and if you have to take the system away from the net you can at least use the thing.People rely on the cloud to much and while I don't mind and such bar all the security etc, the fact is putting your eggs in one collective basket is not the best.Its one reason I havn't jumped on the ms account bandwagon, now they have turned off msn and it does not even work now on Miranda I suppose I will have to use Skype which lets face it is not the best for chats these days.Luckily I don't need access to either app that much but I am still not happy w
 ith everything being needed to be online at all times.Sure I'll take the cloud but my private info being put on it, no way, I don't want to login and use it just to use the system.I want to have control of it.in windows7, I can tell all cloud services to come on and off when I want.and in win 10 or whatever Iget next I want the same flexability and control.I don't use onedrive but I do use dropbox and google and I can control those.As for messenger etc as long as I stay with desktop apps I should be ok.I really hope that ms fixes the issues in 10 else I will get the free cds and licences but I won't install them till they fix the issues.Theretically I could skip 10 all together, windows7 goes out of support in 5 more years.And even then I don't know I may still continue with it I am not sure.While I want to improve what things do and get the best of the best I don't want to do so to my detrimen
 t.In fact if xp still existed I'd still be using it because I don't need much more than I am using now.As for the Linux side, if we were in india or china I'd agree with you, problem is the entire world is Microsoft based and all apps are Microsoft based if you use a pc computer.So windows will have to be used on a vm or something.And unless you have 4 cores and 8gb or 16 gb ram and maybe vertualisation vms just don't run on host windows oses that well I have tried different ones.Afrim, I suggest you either get more memory or look at refurbished or offleased laptops just about every computer store etc will have em older business systems, etc.They will not be the best, but a core2 i5 will do what you want with 4gb ram mine is 3 years old it just runs what I want.You will have to be barstardiously ruthless in what you load and what you run at startup and how many programs you run at once but as long as you watch yourself an
 d don't leave unnecessary programs running its good though you may receive a minute or 2 lag with  program startup, if all you do is the net, brousing, email, Skype and wordprocessing gaming and music it should be ok.Entry level Toshiba business small server units  should be ok, but the lower consumer entertainers may not be the best quality wise.the real business units have slightly lower spec than others.Next you need to decide on either storage or performance.a ssd is good for that but you can't take that much with you without flash or external hard drive.I chose the hard drive, slower but I can carry stuff when I travel.

Have you thought about sending your issue at coolblindtech.comThey hack and test just about every bit of systems from ios to windows to android some from alpha stage and more.I just sent them a note but they would be the guys to consult about stuff like this. their last report has lollypop with various issues but its not been updated in a bit.They have hackers world wide, and they seem to be able to get the latest info in a timely manner.they may have an answer for you.Though now they have been sent something they publish something or at least who knows I don't know if they post on here or not but they are world wide.

the area command will tell you what area you're in, easy to keep track of if you want to move from an area to the other area. I never use the coordinate system. The only thing I use is my memory, with helps from markings, signs or whatever around the environment.The dummies is the old feature of the game, but now it's been removed. So the only way to train combat is to be in combat, or real.

Well I hope if the big bad is Shinok he isn't as boring as he was in mk4. But balancing of the difficulty can be achieved with patches easily in These times. :-) That was for example one of the first things they did with Shao Khan in mk9 after a lot of People wrote that he is to difficult. I know the first Version before the first patches on the Xbox 360. He was impossible to beat.

Clement, we can't simply disregard that Sony appears to be very interested in accessibility. here are some things that have taken place in the last week or so: 1: PS4 gets TTS and other accessibility features. 2: PS app also gets accessibility features. 3: PS Vita gets accessibility features. 4. Sony hosts an event to raise funds for Able Gamers, which they tweeted about numerous times to bring awareness to it, before it took place. put all this together, and can you realistically say this is just pure coincidence? Perhaps people are hessitant because we have been disappointed for so long now, we've sorta learned to expect disappointment where accessibility is concerned. Which is kinda sad if you think about it hahaha, but I think this time, there is finally some genuine interest.
