I'm interested in Playroom more then RS games, even if the last one has the voice chatting feature, and even with the lots of games it hosts, but I prefer the way PR is built on: many languages, easier interface, the ability to talk in non-Latin letters, thing which is not present in RS. And while Playroom's reputation became bad at sometimes, I think it's becomming better. But the problem is that from a whole month, we haven't hear anything about the English admin, either she's present, she left, she's banning spammers, etc. The multiple accounts are being banned no matter what the language is, but I don't know if the history reports or the f4 messages we're sending are being read or not. Anyway, concerning me, I like playing there, especially the fabulous Uno with interceptions activated. You can send me a friend request or play with me whenever I'm online, I know to play all 24 games so no worries. My username is Riad.

Hello. I think it's better that your upcoming games become SAPI/screenReader-based rather then being self-voiced, I actually think that'll be better. I also found something in your number recorded database: in your English games, if a number's bigger then a million, tfor example 5 millions, it'll read the number 5 then stops, while the problem isn't figuring in the Spanish versions for all of these, think of it, a TTS-based game is way too easier to carry on and to use without any problems.Thanks!

Personally I always tend to think sapi/screen readers are fine for basic stat info, numbers, messages and such as it's only the characters that should be full voiced, but really I don't mind either way. I have to disagree with Slj however. If your supporting screen readers please! include sapi support just in case either A, someone is using an unsupported screen reader (as happened to me often with Supernova), or B, if someone sighted wants to hear the game and needs a voice. While I know lots of people don't have good sapi voices and  prefer their screen reader's in built high quality voice over the microsoft default sapi (though this is easily solved by getting a good sapi voice), there are people who don't have that choice, and lets not go down the leasy route as far as saying "you must have this software to play", even if there is a choice of jaws or window eyes or system access or nvda or even supernova. Sapi means any tom 
 dick or harry can download the game and play without anything else. Oh and btw, no saying "well nvda is free so it's not a problem" doesn't work either, sinse Nvda takes learing to use and installing, and if someone has no voices to use with nvda they'll be stuck with espeak or sapi anyhow, so even if you are addding Nvda support (which of course is a good thing), please don't forget about sapi too if your going down that route.The character voices as I said however,  should be full voice, although if your characters are robots you could make a good case for using synths anyway because robots are, - well you know, synthetic!

[[wow]] Aaron. Aprone: For some reason, I can't load a saved game. I'm using the current latest version as I'm writing this. I choose load game, navigate to the file and press enter. THen, it just stays at the main menu where I can choose new game or load game. I've tried that twice. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

Hi.My vote also goes for screenreader output. Not sapi but screenreader.  If there is going to be any character dialog, then I think voice acters is the best thing. But I agree for messages, TTS is the best thing.

I figured this should go in this topic rather than the main one, but when their is a patch to the game, would it be possible just to download a patch file like Swamp does rather than downloading the entire game each time?Another thing that I think would majorly help is auto item creation.  The recommended number of pots people say to carry on you is about 100 or so at the minimum. Ok. So I have to get the clay, go into my inventory, do left hand and right hand, go out of my inventory, combine the clay, rinse, repeat.  Why not have a key to make as many of the items as you could from the items that are selected?  This could also be good for filling your pots up with water so you're not standing their for however long it is filling up every one of your pots?  Yes. Unrealistic, but it can get pretty tedious.  Also a logout confirmation would be nice for this because I know I'm not the only one whose pressed escape one too many times for gettin
 g out of the inventory screen and logged out of the game on accident.  A final suggestion I have is to be able to lower the ambiance a bit like you can with the music as it can get a bit hard to hear my screenreader over all of it.

My suggestion for voicing is to either use the robotic SAPI5 versions of Mike and Mary that already exist, or better yet, put your own robotic effects on some already existing TTS voice that sounds better, hopefully with both male and female options for players.I know that your worried about file size impacting the final game's data footprint, but you could use a pretty compressed format like OGG and tailor it to the right quality without much trouble with something  like a SAPI voice.Also, for a game as complex as you're saying this one will be, I doubt people will mind a large size.This would favorably impact the theme of the game, and could be added as an additional download, with screen reader support being the main method out of the box.

Absolutely. After the reset, I see the correct stages-the tutorial, stage 1, and extras. However, nothing is accessibl at that point. I am unable to restart the game, nor am I able to even go into the extras menu.

I always turn of ambiance in any mud I play that has a sound pack to go along with it.  Hope you get to do some more work with your pack Sneak, I should look at the VIP pack and see if I can add anything to it that isn't already their, or give us some other sounds.  I'm not sure.

So you were angry that some one came on and pretended to be your long lost son so you posted his IP address to the OOC chat?  What made you angry about that?  I mean, I guess I'm not seeing it.  First, it was extremely stupid of you to do in the first place Sam, but if you're trying to make an RP game of it, why not just roll with it?  Or, contact them privately and do something about it?  Good you learned from your mistake, but that's not going to change things for now.  Maybe in the future, but next time think about your actions before you do them.  You're the admin of this game.  Turtle made an extremely good point.  I'm not saying that you should shut things down, but you'd better hope nothing comes of this.

Well hello.I've played this game off and on today. The problem i have is 13 yearolds moderating this game like with names like Mister Fuck you? it's not professional. Not only that but the server crashes more than any game I've seen I think you need to stabilize your server before you release a game. other than that, I like the concept I suppose. it's interesting to have a side scrolling game that's online.

Long discussions are the main reason I prefer forums over the branching-threads-comments style.It might help if Reddit's formatting used some more easily navigable container (Probably lists, since those seem to be real popular these days). It wouldn't help the overload issue, but it'd make it easier to collapse threads, or... keep track of what thread you're in, or something.

The pack wasn't ever even really intended to be publicly distributed. I originally made it for my own enjoyment, and took the time to strip the personalized stuff and put in features to help new players to the game. I'm sorry you don't like the sounds, but nobody's putting a gun to your head to use them or the soundpack. There's even a way to turn off ambiences in options, just disable the room indicators, or set the global volume to I think it's 20, or 30. Gv= 30 should mute the ambience.

Though my knolige on star trek muds is rather limited at the moment, trek mush was a star trek mud I played and enjoyed for a little while, trekmush.org 1701 is the connection info. They have a good wiki at trekmush.org, explaining the basics of spaceflight and prytty much everything else about the game. One thing which might limit your enjoyment if your not that much into roleplay is creation. When I last played you had to have a background to join the federation, not sure about the other factions. I've also taken a look at holotrek, but found it personally not to my taysts. If your really into star trek, i'd dephanatly at least give trek mush a look.

Hi there.  I'd like to report some things. First, my character was in the General Store a few hours ago, and for some reason, all of my pots and water disappeared, so now I'm stuck in the store with 700 thirst and no water. Also, I found two items called string_energy_drug_water_boddle. Is this item a broken item? I only ask because it has a rather odd name, and I don't appear to be able to do anything with it.  Now for a few ideas that I have. Have you ever considered making a berry bush? I'm pretty sure "berry bush" isn't the right name for it, but I think you'll understand what I mean. Finally, how often do items spawn in the Gas Station and General store? It seems that I never come across any, with the exception of the two weirdly items earlier.  Thanks

Very nice game indeed! Great you could spare some time for making this awesome and fun game.It appears the bug that prevents people from picking up items still persists, as I had only 1 person left who was on the verge of starvation. I did save the game in case the save file could be of some use for Aprone, however, after resuming the game I was able to equip any item at my disposal, so I assume this save file won't do much good in tracking this bug down. Unfortunately though, I had no food left, so the anticipated consequence was inevitable after all.

Every fiew minutes, you press s, h, u and e keys so you are sure you aren't to thirsty, no matter where you are (I actually did sometimes "check my thirst" when I wasn't in game).42. noone can look you if you didn't trust them before ... noone!43. if you want to look someone, you ask for them to trust you, first.44. if you see a barrie, you run to it and eat it, because they can't be poisenus, right?45. When you get a gift and open it, you are verry sad when you see that you didn't get bullets or revolver or flairs or other stuff like that.Those are mine for now, sorry for any tipos.

I agree, currently we can use our hand to drink only in the rocky spring, even if we could drink with our hands in nearly every water sorce. Not sure how much coding would that take, but we can do it already in 1 map.Also, I notesd that you can't fish in the pond in the beautiful forest east of the marsh. [[wow]]! Congratulations! I hope I also manage to end it someday without loosing hope after someone dies and starting over, heh. I hope I'll manage to do it now that I can make quite a lot of food, and don't need to even starve kids to do that, heh.@Aprone, it's great that we now automaticly start with a lighter and a knife, but I still sometimes get only one, even if I have set it on baby steps. One time I got 11 knives and even 1 more blanket than usual, but no lighters. One time I got 1 lighter and 1 knife, like I should. And one time I got just a lighter. So is the chanse to get boath just higher, or is this a bug?

Well then, I'll put another suggestion: how if we can drink water from the same water source directly, this will make the game more realistic. Yup the pots and bottles' benefit is saving some water for you until you need when you're far from a water source, so no need to create some pots to drink a water, and you're already in the water. That's it.

A surprise hit the audiogames forum members earlier this week, in the form of long time developer Jeremy Kaldobsky releasing a new game, entitled Pawprints. It is a turn-based survival game, where you must manage up to ten people, making them traverse harsh whether conditions, as their airship crashed, and you must allow them, if you can, to reach a city that is fifteen locations away from the crash. New in 0.75.3Fixed an offle bug with voice chat whare people could use the lag it provided when sending data as an exploit! Unfortionatly the only way to do this was to make the game lock up temperarily while the data was transmitting, but it shouldn't be too badWmahahahahahahahaha, fixed that bug whare you would have in your hand what you had when you last died or exited! Fixed the item dropping, one item dropps every 250 ms now rather than 25. HahahaFinily fixed the offle tree bug whare you could press page up when there was a tree cut downNow you can track items, yayayayayayayayay!

Hay Aprone, you were right about the menus being cluncky.To declunckify the menus somewhat, it might be a good idea to make escape always take you back to the summory screen.The people screen could have a way to assign tasks, so you don't have to back out to the location screen to do that.If someone is traveling, the task option would just show traveling, or something.It also might be a good idea to put something at the bottom of the site task screen that shows how many people are doing what task.Or, better yet, only show each task once, but put something like 0 out of 6 assigned next to it.I'll play around with this a little more and post what I find...Later!

About morale: Setting up camps is good for everyone at the location.burying the dead is good for everyone at the location, except the person who was doing the burying.Making them rest is usually good if the camp isn't already taking morale.Winning against wolves seems to help the winner. Moving people around seems to make them stay at their current happiness rating, and can often actually decrease it if the people are moving to a location that decreases morale.Losing limbs to frostbite decreases morale for the loser of the limb.The death of a person can sometimes make everyone more sad. I think it might be if they are starved.Aprone says kids slow down the morale loss, but I am not really sure. It still doesn't make children worth having, really, because they can do so little.

Hello,[[wow]], I can now say that this is an enjoyable game. However, I'm wondering something. What is the best way to keep people happy? A lot of them are sad, should I get camps up wherever I can, let them res for a day then just keep moving on, setting up more camps as I go? Should I complete as many tasks as possible at locations, or just do the necessary ones such as gathering supplies and camping before moving on?

Heya!So I've been wondering for a while if there was a more accessible way to read long topics on Reddit. Shorter threads with, say 100 posts aren't exactly a problem, but when comments start branching and you need to expand a ton of stuff to read everything the mountain of text just gets bigger and bigger. I've had my browser or reader, not sure which actually, freezeat a few times after having moved Down a few thousand posts in a topic.Other than that I don't really think there's too many problems with the site, although I can't speak for posting and such since I don't have an account on there.Either way, any tips/suggestions/whatever? KeyIsFull, I forgot to add it to the menu!  Whoops.Aaron, nice catch.  The defeat menu was being affected by something else I had changed, so it was never showing up.Thanks for the save file, it helped a ton!  I do believe I've solved the traveling issue, and I think the same bug was probably causing those items to mess up where you couldn't pick them up.The update is posted.Changes from 0.5 to 0.5b- Fixed the Smokey the bear fault, which was added in the last update but I forgot to actually list it in the menu as an option, hahaha!- Wolf respawn rate has been adjusted.  It was already pretty low, but I've actually lowered it even more.- Fixed a bug that was preventing the losing screen from coming up once your last person had died.- Saved game files will now correctly save the summary from your previous day.  The summary was showing up blank after loading in a saved game.  Any files 
 already saved before this was fixed, will still load with blank summaries.- Fixed a bug that was sometimes affecting travelers, especially when multiple people were traveling together.  This bug was affecting their items and sometimes preventing them from actually traveling once the turn was ended.- On normal, easy, and baby steps difficulty, you will start out with at least 1 knife and 1 lighter.  Hard and impossible difficulty will still start where you receive only 1 of them, at random.- Added a new perk, Fruit fly, the double edged sword.  At the end of each night, there is a small chance a person will grow into the next age.  While this is a cool way to turn children into useful adults, there are some disadvantages too.- Added the Homeless fault.  Each location offers fewer tasks for upgrading your camp.

catfish, to go to station go to main street then east there and check for fradgle wood bariers (can't spell the first Word right) every fiew steps. For the store go to west elm street (it starts south of the main street, go behind the main street and a bit east to find it) and go south there and check for wood bariers every fiew steps. That random thing was actually with john dean, yes me, but no admin/cheating abilities. And he fought back and hearly killed me, which I would have been fine with. Just keep that in mind. Also I seriously forgot to update the changelog, I wasn't thinking what I did it and just wrote what I did but jyst saying, other changes include: making energy go down a lot lot slower when you walkChanges some of the sounds, if you didn't notice. Tried to make it so you could hold delete to drop items, but I broke it and they drop 2 killion times faster than they should. Will be fixed in the next version. So you want me to fix the tree bug, I will atempt to do that, and any other bugs I can fix in this update. Anyway, i'll get started on it and see what I can nail.

I too, vote screen reader, and strongly so.I played exactly one game of traders of known space, and it completely turned me off VGA's titles - a person should not try to fake being a screen reader. Use voice acting for characters, not for messages.I also really like smaller titles - just because we have big disks doesn't mean we need to declare a vendetta to fill them up.In a counterpoint to this - beatstar did a good job with the self voicing. Its a little choppy when reading numbers, but all and all it works well for what it needs to do. That said, beatstar's not an rpg. It only has a few messages, and presumably this would have a whole lot more than that.
