I wanted to draw a picture that was gold and silver on a black background. I got the whole thing black, but then I could not change the color. Also, I don't know how to get the sonifyer to work, or to get the scann feature to give me anything different then it's original pitch. When I press q it does one click, then silence, no matter what image it's on, that is unless it's on loop scann, then it does repeated clicks. I am using an old machine that is currently running windows 10. i guess I will have to go back to my homework now.  lol

Because the synthesizers are programmed to read them phonetically, if my understanding is right. Which, in many cases, is how they're supposed to read. I'm not sure which name you're using refers to which reading, the Japanese variant of the chinese pronunciation or the native Japanese pronunciation. But again, there are rules for reading kanji out loud... which is why some are read one way in one context and read another way in a different context. It's in the language.

This game reminds me a lot of the game Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest, with a few differences of course. I don't know how many of you remember or had the chance to play that game, but it was first to come to mind.I wanted to mention one thing I had forgotten until I began thinking of the RPGs I've played in the past. It may sound strange, but one of the biggest things we used to rate our games on and made it memorable was the ending after we had completed it. I know it's just an app and not a full fledged console game, but if you ever want to give any game and edge, add a good ending with a story.

I plan on still using TestFlight to test out new classes and pets but I'm not sure how that will affect your installed copy so I will test on myself first. As for the beta copy it stops working 30-60 days after you I put it up for download so it will stop working. I personally deleted my beta copy before downloading this one but I think you are fine to have both? Haha I should know this. This game is actually the currently top game on toucharcade which is the biggest iPhone gaming site so I'm very excited about that. It's saying a lot since a new clash of clans game came out today too.

I see the conparasins but I think is different in that it's one of the first environments where you have these scaled maps, and not only that but you can travil between them. RTR only has one game map that you can be on at a time and the maps are either really really complex or smaller. One thing RTR does that I wish Swamp would do is the abilaty to shoot or break things. I think it be cool if you could hang up phones, turn off-on radios and tv's in swamp. Play the claw machine, flush a toilet and fight a zombie blob. Just random thoughts anyway I think they are both good but as someone said this is the Swamp topic, so maybe make a comparasin topic in genral game discussion?

captcha codes...how to deal with them?

Hello all and this has probably been asked before, but is probably buried somewhere deep in one of these forums. I've found that many games have those stupid captcha codes to input, especially on registration. Does anyone have any way of dealing with these things as jaws doesn't read them and neither does window-eyes. I'm wondering this for a PC running windows 7.Also is there any to deal with them on an iPod IOS device?

Not exactly like comparing Resident Evil to Call of Duty because those are two different genres entirely. These two games are more similar in that they are shooters which allow you to kill waves of zombies, but differ in the ways I listed above. However, you're right, it might be a little early to really compare them.

I can answer a few of your questions.First off, when they say that you have to twist your wrist, you don't have to literally twist it. Just imagine your pointer finger and thumb, gripping on a mini virtual nob, that is the size of a mid sized coin. You're just rotating those 2 fingers in a circular motion. You don't even have to turn a full circle to hear all the choices. In fact, you can even just do half circle motions, and lift your fingers up, and do it again.I will skip braille mode here, because I personally do not use that on my iPhone.Although it is true that you can lock your phone into portrait mode, that has nothing to do with Voice-Over. iOS and Android both have an option to lock their devices in portrait mode. It is not on by default.

For example, if the character is equipping a shield, a two-handed sword can't be equipped. Same goes for a bow. You need to keep in mind that each character has only two hands.

Hi, I think that what we really need is different zombie types that do different things or omve at different speeds or something. Once you get to round 3, you can play infinitely because of the current game mechanics. I soloed to round 22 a few days ago and haven't really played seriously since because I basically beat the game.

Yeah, shortly after I posted that message, I started a new game and figured it out. I stuck a coat and blanket on a guy with frost bite, and in a few turns, he was toasty warm and the frost bite cleared up. Tough but addicting game though, glad I've got the time now to keep at it.

Firmware files for the old braille Lite M20

Hey guys, So I know this tech is super old, judge me if you want. *grin* I'm using a Braille Lite M20 as a console for cisco networking for school, because Braille. Terminal. Awesome sauce! And I can't upgrade to firmware 4.5, the latest one, without first upgrading to 4.1. Which is a problem, because Interactive Mode, which is important in using it as a console, was introduced in firmware 4.1. 4.1 was paid, back in the day, and Freedom Scientific would neither check to see if they might still have a copy, nor let me pay them for it. I've pretty much checked everywhere at this point, and am grasping at straws hoping maaybe someone on here might? Maybe? I hope? Have it somewhere in their archives. might anyone have a copy of this firmware anywhere? Anyone at all? I'd be MOST in your debt! Thanks very much!

Wel, at that point in the game, you should be able to get through it if you fight strategically, depending on the inventory you have, of course. Don't know about the spirit sword yet, I'm still trying to upgrade it at all... I don't play the game often enough for that.

My friend also did a recording where he showed me how to flick around the screen and stuff, and now that I've heard that, I can sort of visualize what you're saying. I think what's so intimidating to me is the fact that not only do I have to learn a new OS, I also have to completely redesign in my head how to interact with it. That seems like an overwhelming task to me, especially when I hear about all kinds of gestures that sound like they should be physically painful, like the rotar. If I understand that right, you have to twist your wrist while making a pinching motion on the screen and then turning it by specific degrees to achieve different results, like getting into IOS's equivalent of forms mode and so on.Can you explain a little more about how Braille input works? This is something that I am very interested in. I read about a couple of apps that make this possible. Which is the best one to use? I w

If i remember right, I couldn't set anything else up without setting up that passcode first.

Jsymes, if memory serves me, keeping the person warm will keep the frostbite from developing into anything more serious.  The game may not remove the ailment "frostbite" from the person, but it might... I can't remember haha.  Even if it leaves the label on the person, it just means you'll want to give them a little extra care when it comes to heat and cold.It has been a very long time since I gave this game much thought.  To any who played this game in the past and have set it aside, I believe I will share a secret...(sort of a spoiler alert, but not really)Beating the game tells you a story, but there are 2 versions of the story.  If you are skilled enough to beat the game with a surviving child, you are given the full ending story.  The full story contains everything from the shortened story, plus substantially more.

Oops. Wait a minute, are you using the Resize function in the Canvas menu to shrink down the image for easier viewing? If so, you should try using the "Stretch" function in the Image menu instead. The two functions are very similar but have one very important difference. The Stretch function can shrink down both the image and the canvas the image is on, giving you a miniature version of the whole image. The Resize function however will only shrink the canvas, not! the image on the canvas. So if you use the Resize tool to shrink the image, you'll end up with only the lower left corner of it.

Correct, it is grid-based. However, you still have to hit the correct arrow key to face a zombie before shooting it. It's also not even that straightforward because a zombie could be behind and to the left, which means i have to press the down arrow to walk backwards and then move left to face the zombie. The aiming system is still being improved, but that is the basic overview. However, the rotation system in RTR and Swamp is indeed more efficient.

Oops. Wait a minute, are you using the Resize function in the Canvas menu to shrink down the image for easier viewing? If so, you should try using the "Stretch" function in the Image menu instead. The two functions are very similar but have one very important difference. The Image function can shrink down both the image and the canvas the image is on, giving you a miniature version of the whole image. The Resize function however will only shrink the canvas, not! the image on the canvas. So if you use the Resize tool to shrink the image, you'll end up with only the lower left corner of it. Hope that helps.

RTR, I just didn't think Undead assault was actually a free movement FPS.  I may have heard wrong, but I had heard it was more of a grid based game where you don't have to aim at targets.

I wouldn't say they're the exact same style. Undead Assault is inspired by Call of Duty: Black ops 3, Zombies. You run around a map fighting zombies, collecting power ups, and using points to open a box, which allows you to obtain weapons and ammunition. You do all of this in teams of four maximum players, but you can also solo if you wish. IN contrast, Swamp is a shoter with RPG elements, such  as stat leveling and going on missions. So, the two games are quite different, but both center on killing zombies instead of other players.

Hi all!Been playing Swamp since July or thereabouts and really enjoying it!the only thing that really gets up my nose, and it's not a fault of the game is the voice commands. I don't know about what others are saying, but from my own experiences, using Windows 7 and JAWS. I find Internet Explorer the most accessible with Firefox running a close second.Since I cxant get Chrome to install, I can't rate it compared to the other two and have never tried Opera.

Hi all.Thanks to Manuel, I noticed that I didn't know enough about how this translation system. I didn't know there was such a huge difference between the .po file and the .pot file.I noticed that the readme I linked to in the first post properly wasn't good enough, since some people have done the translation wrong, which properly was because the instructions wasn't clear enough.So, I took the time to update the first post with a, hopefully, more understandable instructions to make it more clear on how to translate the strings.Thanks a ton to Manuel for being awesome, and help me figuring out what causes those issues people are having. Well, sometimes it's a matter of actual know reading rules for the language, which cause two kanji to be read a certain way. This is because every Kanji has a meaning in and of itself, but when they come together they form a separate word... and those rules can be programmed into a synthesizer. For example, the word一人 (hitori) which means one person. It's actually made up of two characters.一 (read by itself as ichi, the number 1)and人 (which can be read as hitto or jin, meaning person)But the new word that they form is 一人 hitori. They're specifically defined. For less common kanji, like names or expressions, it can get messed up and synthes don't read it correctly. for example, the nickname I use online in any situation where I need it is:晴輝The actual reading is Haruki, which is a male given name for Japanese people. but the individual characters themselves read as sei and ki, and protalker reads it as "Seiki", which is a possible reading but not the one that is most commonly read aloud by peopl.Last example, a popular saying found in many Japanese martial arts.七転八起This _expression_'s reading is actually "nanakorobi yaoki" which means to fall seven times but stand up eight times. Kanji characters are as follows七 nana or 7 which can also be read as shichi転 the character which is part of the verb to fall, read as korobi八 The number 8, read as hachi in modern Japanese, or in a more traditional context like this, read as ya起 part of the verb okiru meaning to get up, but this character is read as ki meaning riseThat's a basic example of some kanji that have different readings depending on context, but most of them are clearly established so when developers develop a screen reader, presumably they understand the rules surrounding correct readings and can enter the correct rules. But for unusual readings like my name and the martial  arts saying synthesizers tend to stumble on them. Hope that explains a little bit.

Hello Turtle power,I believe you are a little misled or have a misconception of touch screens and the environment of them. As you said, and I really think so, it should be your lack of experience that causes this feeling. To avoid confusion, or to explain in brief how touch screens work, (for blind users), we must first take the time together to explain how things are done there, or to better say it, how tasks are achieved in a touch screen device. Of caurse, you know what a touch screen is, and so you should work with your common sense a little. There are no keys! No letters! No control navigation buttons! Nothing! So? Within the space of this device, which may range from 4 inches to 7 inches, we have to touch the screen and perform slides. These slides have to do with placing your finger on the screen and moving it into a certain direction. It could be right or left, up or down. So, let’s take a short example. You are a powerful windows user, and I suppose you know better than me, what is the key on the keyboard that allows you to browse/explore items one by one on a windows program. That is “Tab”, right? So, the same task on iOS using Voiceover Is reached by placing your finger somewhere on the screen, (preferably near the centre) and sliding with a single finger to the right. Remember, you may touch the screen to get focused on a certain element, then slide to the right, with one finger, to go to the next item. Sliding to the left from where you placed your finger will get you to the previous item, and it is similar to pressing shift+tab. This process is called flicking. It is identical to swiping and the difference relies on the fact that android users/fans use the term “swipe”, while iOS users like to call it “flicking”. But, please, keep in mind that the world of mobile devices nowadays is not as narrow as it seems from the first look/experience. How many types of commands do you use on windows with NVDA? Aren’t nearly 4/5 combinations? Well, let me explain. You can use insert+N to open the NVDA menu. You can use windows+d to jump to the desktop. You regularly use alt+f4 to get out of a window. So, the developer of Voiceover, just like the one of NVDA or jaws, must think of expansion in terms of commands which stand for different tasks. So, similarly to a programmer of Jaws, someone on the Voiceover team must think of a way to read all the text on a Microsoft word document from a certain point, let’s suppose. Familiar user of NVDA or jaws will instantly tell you that, oh, press insert+down arrow and it’ll be alright. OK. Now, I told you in the beginning of the post that there are no keys on a touch screen device, so the developers must dive very deeply into their minds to invent new commands to get things done quickly. I already told you that there is no insert key, alt key or windows key on the touch screen. In addition, Voiceover experts use gestures, gestures which make use of two, three and sometimes 4 finger gestures or commands if you are not accustomed to the term “gesture”. I think I wrote a few sentences ago about putting into practice these kinds of commands by using the available space on your touch screen. So, for example, let’s suppose you want to read a piece of text on the internet, and you want to read all of it from a certain point. Normally in NVDA you would press insert+down arrow or Insert+A. On iOS, you slide with two fingers to the bottom of the screen.Now, regarding typing on a touch screen device, I will tell you that even the most genius and legendary blind person in the world cannot type as fast as on a physical keyboard, typically one on windows. You have different methods of typing on a touch screen anyway. You can choose standard typing, where you touch the letter and double tap to type it. Tapping is the process of touching the screen and lifting the finger after having located an item. Also, there is Direct typing, where you touch the letter and release the finger to type it. Alternatively, iOS has introduced brail keyboard, which if you have an idea how it works, may considerably improve your speed of typing. As you may know, the keyboard is similar to the one on windows, except for the numbers and symbols which need to be found by changing the keyboard to symbols through a button on the left side of the screen.Well, this is all I can say for now. Agree with FabiG94 and Pitermach. The worst part of audio gaming nowadays is deciding between the frustration of playing a game that requires activation (particularly one using a manual process spanning multiple days) and the reward playing that game actually provides. So, while I hate DRM with a burning passion, I can see how a centralised accounts system could really help, and yes, it might even benefit Leasey. Bonus points for giving users choice over the kind of DRM they would be willing to tolerate, or for making it harder for crackers to crack demo copies by requiring payment prior to download (which is the number one way they are able to do this, BTW).

that one isn't complete yet though, is it?lol I managed to piece together move lists by trying typical MK combinations, mostly just sektor and leatherface so faron another note, does anyone else think leatherface's ending is frickin' terrifying?edit: never mind, guess that list was finished in the last 24 hours lol

@Steve, that sounds fun. The arcanoid series on the Amigar were obviously different but deffinitely had their moments, what with aliens to fight  as well as blocks to hit, power ps that would temporarily give you guns as well as bat extentions, all that sort of fun stuff. I do actually like the one on the Iphone just because of the analogue momvenet, and the fact that it's a surprisingly difficult game to bounce the ball around.@Aaron, thanks, it's quite worryingg to say the least and everything is rather up in the air right now, indeed we all feel a bit discombobulated, but I am realizing just how much I love my lady sinse she's able to just be there and be amazingly fantastic despite this isn't fun for her either.

Hello everyone, some tips for translations, useful if you are starting a new one:When you have the pot file in your downloads folder or something like that, you don't need to change its extension to .po and start with that file. This file is a translation template, not a catalog. For the gettext's perspective, a template is different than a catalog and you not should use these in the same way. You can do it, but it may contain errors later.Open poedit from the start menu, go to  the file menu in the menu bar and press in new, or press Control N. You will see a dialogue where you have to choose the language for the translation. Then press OK. Then press Tab and you will heard something like "Update from a POT file" or something like that. Press enter there, and look for  the pot file that you have downloaded and press enter there. it will create a new translation catalog, and you will be able to start the job.

Playing games on Linux in Wine

Hello all. i would like to play games in wine. I can play them for example battle zone, Ultra racer, etc. But I don't know how can I import some voice into that, because it cannot read me menus. And I have got another problem. When I want to play super Liam, it cannot run, but I haven't got any error. Please, what mistakes in my computer? Games are fast and great in Wine, but the problem is reading of menus in gmaes, etc. Thanks for your help. best regards Vojta.
