Re: Looking for a new phone At this time, my monthly budget is tyte as it is. So the question of IPhone or other smart phone might prove to be mute if I can not swing the monthly charges. It isn't the voice plan that I am worried about with the IPhone and other phones like it. It is the data. I am not currently paying for data and am on someone's voice plan. If I go with data, I will have to go out on my own plan, but before I do that, I really need to know all options before I make the jump. Basicly, the costs of the phone itself isn't really where my costs problem is overall, it is with the monthly phone bills. It looks like, at this time, Maybe able to work in a $50 monthly bill. Currently the SSI is going for rent, food, utilities, and ETC. Those who recieves SSI most likely know how little that really is. It is probably better to start getting used to Windows 10 as Windows 7 is a little outdated.It seems that Microsoft is changing their tactics. Hey.Yep, this laptop is quite expensive, but I actualy wanted to have a laptop which has sufficient power and lasts for the next 3 to 5 years or so, the current model that I have right now was bought in 2012, but in 2014 it already showed signs of slowing down, things were not working as they should and all this other stuff, I actualy had to decide between this one and an acer predator laptop, but the cons of the predator overtook the pros in the notebook test I read, so I decided for the asus laptop. Re: VIPMud 2.0 released The only major bug that caused me problems was that occasionally sapi would not read the prompts, Cx2 made me a triger for this that I coppied for new muds but hopefully it's fixed now, I'll have to try with avalon or erionmud. To be honest I like vipmud because it just works out of the box and doesn't need all that scripting and what not. If people want to make soundpacks or clients or whatever for games that's awesome and I do appreciate using them, however for most muds I want to just play and read the text I find vipmud's customized use with separate windows, find function, individualized speech settings etc much more helpful. Actually the new version now works with supernova, so maybe I'll try that instead of sapi, or perhaps use the two in tandom.I couldn't get all the old stuff from vipmud to copy over, but really there wasn't much, just names and passwords and connection info for my characters which I remember any way, and the soundpack from six dragons which I can download again. In internet explorer you just hit alt d to go to the address bar of the page you want to post a link to, hit the applications key and select "copy shortcut", or just find the link in your favourites, hit properties and again "copy "shortcut" Firefox is I believe the same, I'm not sure about other setups, but basically it's just a matter of coppying the web address to clipboard and pasting it on the forum in your post. @Violinist, could you please provide a link to that podcast? Also, as I said www.whitestick.co.uk has a listing for online audiodramas and audiobooks, I'd suggest people contact tom lorimer about sending their links along. I just finished this month's Big finish Dr. who story which had one as the centerpiece of the plot being as the Master's tardis looks like a clock. I'd be interested to know what runs on windows 10. My own thoughts about upgrades have had to go on hold for a while due to getting married etc, but I'll probably need something as much as I still think Xp is the best os available and microsoft were idiots ever to abandon it, there are points it's becoming somewhat inconvenient to use these days. I was considering mac, but now that it looks like I won't have room for two computers that probably isn't an option, so the question is windows 7 or windows 10. I'm inclined to say sod it and get 10 sinse configuring and finding software for my lady's windows 7 machine has been quite a pest already, but I don't want to do myself out of a huge amount of backwards compatibility with Aprone's games, jim kitchin's etc. Then again all this will wait until august.Well Mrs. Dark and I are okay albeit a bit snowed under with jobs for her visa application as well as getting her a new computer, (hence my comment about windows 7). We're currently at my parents, and On thursday we went for an amazing spanish meal at the catering colidge. They train silver service chefs waiting staff for major hotels and the public get to go and have extremely amazing recipes tried out on them in their restaurant. Occasionally they have themed evenings where they get food from a specific place or style, and it was spanish on Thursday and was amazingly awesome! Hopefully all the jobs and things will get sorted, though right now even though I've got more time for my thesis it seems a million and one things constantly crop up one after another, indeed my gaming time is quite limited these days. The reason why Dark is saying Steam games *won't* get pages is because he doesn't agree with how the client works. So basically, even though a statistical 7x% of the community thinks it will be an imprivement to the site, Dark thinks it won't, so the community can go to hell and developers should work twice as hard to release their games in a form in which we, a *TINY* community compared to Steam's, can enjoy their games, even though we can already do that if we really want to, as all the blind users on Steam will be able to tell you. Re: your thoughts about this laptop? the way that processer is listed is a bit wierd, sounds like 6 cores? If so, that's more than adiquit for what you need. I'd say the biggest thing would be the mainstreem games, but that's a dang nice computer. You could probably do everything you wanna do with a box that has much lower specs than that. I'm guessing that's probably very expensive, and if you plan to do some massive work on it like 3 mainstreem games running at a time, then it's perfect. Otherwise, good luck getting your system itle to go below 60, but that's good. It means you likely won't have to upgrade for a very long time. And if i'm rong someone please correct me as i'm not amazing with mainstreem games, but my brother is, and his much much much lower rated labtop works well with most, so i'm basing at least that. I know for a fact though that if that processer is what I think it is with 6 cores at 3.5 ghz, that's way more than what you'll need for browsing that could be done on a small netbook with hardly any specs or audiogaming which doesn't take much either. All I know is a computer with those kind of specs will get you along way and should you decide you want to do something more intensive in the future that thing will have the processing power to do it, very most likely. Hello, I wanted to get myself a new llaptop and was searching for one for a while now.I came across an asus machine which looks quite nice to me, but I think I first should ask someone who has a bit more knolledge about this.The things I want to do with this machine is word processing, surfing, multy media, and play games, mostly audiogames and mainstream games.The specs of the machine are:Processor: Intel Core I7 6700hq, 2,6 to 3.5GHZ with turbo boost.Memory: 16GB DDR4 RamGraphics: nVidia gForce 970M with 3GB VRAM DDR5 memoryStorage: 256GB SSD and a 2TB HDD.I would turn down the graphics level for the mainstream games down to the lowest, so I don't eat up as many resources.
