Hi.Not having that much time to play as I wish I had, I'm now on my way through the mountain to the Snowstar city.I don't fully get how transformation works, especially those manamons you have to transform using an item. So, does the manamons learn moves depending on if they have transformed or not? I mean, would it be a good idea to wait to transform those manamons you have to transform manually until they get all the moves, or should I transform them as early as possible? I'm just not sure on the point of transforming, since some of my manamons doesn't seem to have changed much.

I used Babble, a speak window like app that is in the Mac app store, which I wrote the song in. However, it only exports as aiff, so to avoid issues in case people couldn't play the files, I converted it to mp3 using Foobar2000.

Caught a Turoison and I see that it has nearly 100 defense and about 105 special defense at level 39. Attack is bad, special attack is meh-ish with no training, and speed is meh (faster than Garganchan, but not by leaps and bounds). At least it appears to beat the hell out of Simulon. If this guy gets Drench or some other good support moves (it's already got Toxic Storm), it might be a nice defensive wall. Though poison dual typing doesn't do it any favours.Nice job finishing the master stadium. And yes, I feel like that stadium was ppoorly planned. Two entire tamers are weak to electric. If it were me, I'd have made the third tamer either ice type or plant type, to 1. give fire manamon something to do, 2. to stop the electric weakness running rampant through a lot of the stadium and 3. to give us a scrap against types we hadn't really seen too much of.Ice team would be Frenrir, Submenno, Arctana, Snowmonno and Deciced.Plant team would be Tho
 rnita, Junanchel, Banyardan, Guerrerrol and...oops, only four fully evolved plant types in the game. That's why there's no plant team. Imbalance ahoy!

Regarding Elemental Breath, perhaps it would be a bit too overpowered if this happened, but I would like it if we could pick which type it uses. Or at least, have it act like Vulnerability Scan, stronger, but limited to the 3 types (Random note: anyone else find it weird that a fire dragon can breathe water?), and it'd just pick one at random if all 3 types were equal effectiveness. Surely these dragons have control over what comes out of their mouth, and between tamer and Manamon there must be at least some intelligence about which one to spew. As far as I can tell, both Manamon that get this are overall better with physical attacks, and this is a special attack, so I can't see having more control being totally broken. I could even live with its power being lowered to 60 or some such.Just beat the Master Stadium. Team was level 58 to 61, and I beat it on the first try. Despite its underwhelming moveset, Galvana was super useful, guess having 2 entire teams weak t
 o it will do that, plus a couple of other mons on other teams. Mortrex damn near wiped me out, but Mud Ball managed to slow down my use of healing items enough to take it out with Drench.Also squeaked my way to the rocket launch, fighting tamers 10 levels higher than me in the process. Not exactly sure what I'm going to do with this file now, but I want to try out some Manamon for myself, really give them a try, see how they stack up compared to how we assume they will, so I know if my complaints have been valid or unjustified. Won't be doing that by playing through and fighting tamers, but levelling them up and taking on the master stadium should at least give a decent idea. I think it would be fun if there was something similar to the battle tower though, it would definitely add some endgame stuff to work toward, and provide a challenge that's always present even if the manapedia is complete.

That's right, Jollyleaf, the very same one we're using Using that on another server will only run us into the same problem we ran into before. So for our purposes, I'd go with Ghorthalon's server because then we can run on a server that's completely independent, and free from constraints from any commercial hosting provider.

Just beat the Verlorene stadium leader, and the whole team's in the low to mid-50s. Now it's grind time. I don't want to visit this shadow kingdom more than I have to.Now that Garganchan has Blaze Rampage, he murders things pretty much SPAM. Dragomier is struggling a bit, mostly because he has to rely on Trample, Dragon Burst and Wing Slash for damage. Really do wish Elemental Breath was just deleted as a bad idea, and he was given Dragon Fang instead. I still have 10 level-up herbs to play with, so if I get really really bored of grinding I might use them before the Irroadium fight.On a different note, if any of you are bored/curious, I would absolutely love it if you gave me feedback on the "create your own manamon" type thread on the general games discussion board. Obviously it doesn't mean a ton - I don't have the means of creating Manamon 2, and wouldn't even try given that it's Aaron's thing - but I want to know
  if others actually think my name/type designs are any good. It just consists of a few manamon I created outright (with descriptions and movelists and stuff), and then one post where I list a whole pile of new manamon and their types (no moves, no stats, no abilities). So yeah. Feedback. I love feedback.

update. there is going to be a source code folder that will contain the source for songs on the album. for now, this includes all of snoopy botten's songs (and blindcool's variations where aplicable), as well as slender's mac versions of there are 7 days.

I regularly add them to the 7z. however, my access to dropbox is limmited due to a combination of internet problems and parental concerns over bandwidth. in order to protect the album from possible unauthorized tampering I will link to the actual folder housing the songs so one may download them individually, and also make it a shared link so that those with something to add can add them to the folder directly.

i thought about it a bit more. what would be nice is yes a sapi5 bridge between NVDA and sapi5. but a bridge where when you go into your game you put nvda to sleep and you can use any voice available in nvda as a sapi5 voice. kind of like how in talking dosbox i can use any nvda voice available in dosbox and even in lotus123 and any dos app in there.

OpenAL EFX Python Examples

I just finished wrapping up some EFX Extentions for OpenAL Soft, which includes such audio effects as: Reverb, EAX Reverb, Chorus, Distortion, Echo, Flanger, Frequency Shifter, Vocal Morpher, Pitch Shifter, Ring Modulator, Autowah, Compressor, and Equalizer. Also included are classes for lowpass, highpass, and bandpass filters.In order to use these effects, you must first create an Effects Slot and an Effect. Then mount the effect into the effect slot, and connect a source to output through it to apply the effect to the sound. You can also apply filter's directly on sources, or when connecting them to effect slots.The current example was written in Python 2.x and comes with the 32 bit OpenAL soft DLL, it plays a snare instrument and applys a reverb and bandpass filter. PyAL already has these extensions implemented so there should be no required setup, for Pyglet however you'll need to replace lib_openal.py and put lib_efx.py with it in pyglet/media/drivers/
 openal. I finished the main adventure yesterday, I liked it, though I have to say I didn't exactly play fair with Iroadium. To put this in perspective, Battle Cry from Fyrate + Dracobreaker from level 75 Dragomier with Power Bracelet + Adrenaline Rush = more then 400 Damage. A power Kick from Fyrate and a Frigite Touch from Deciced and it was over. Dragomier was the only overpowered Manamon in my team though.I guess I will complete the manapedia as much as I can, but now I am on personal challenges. I am trying to get that melody from the game on the piano right, without a cingle mistake. That's useless, but well I guess I want to prove to myself I can play a piano on an azerty keyboard or something. Also I should probably try to improve myself at the arcade games.

I was expecting Superspark. Far too many manamon get Sparking Tail.Okay, scratch him off the list of good electrics. Erroir is better, Dussoket is way better, Mondevol sseems better too. Mondevol may not hit as hard but it survives better.Oh well.And the teachable moves thing, no matter how you do it, would truly not be too much work. Less than a couple of weeks' worth.Team is all in the high 40s now and I'm about to hit Snowstar City for the first time.Used level-up herbs till Dragetull transformed into Dragomier. Nice attack, pretty good speed, fairly good special attack (so you could use something like Tidal Wave and it wouldn't absolutely and completely suck)...and terrible defense. I think I saw something like 79 defense at level 55. And with a stone weakness to boot, not to mention dragon and undead being physically based in this game. Just ow. I think Dramagon is all-around better, but hey. Maybe this guy's DracoBreaker a
 nd Blaze Rampage, plus Wing Slash, will simply wreck stuff too fast for his crap defense to matter.Everyone else is performing as advertised. Apparently Garganchan gets Fireball Flurry at level 47. Very peculiar.And did I misremember, or has HydroFang always been 65 power? I thought it was 95 power. Submenno hits pretty hard, but it's definitely better on the ice side of things. What I wouldn't give to have a water-ice type that could use both Drench and Ice Tempest off high special attack. Or a high-powered physical water move and Frigid Touch. Submenno gets half, and HydroFang's not terrible, I'll grant it that.

I'd have thought something like move tutors or skill manuals would take more time and effort, because for each move, you have to go through all 158 Manamon and decide who gets the move. With breeding moves, you just go 1 by 1 through all of the base forms, which total much less than 158, pick 2 or 3 moves, add the feature to the breeding code, and done. Of course, I don't know how BGT works and how hard it would actually be, but I can't see it being stupidly tough. Of course, I'd be cool with either of these ideas.Galvana report: Learns Thunderstorm at 60, Sparking Tail at 70. Result? Power Surge is your main source of straight up damage until level 70, and it runs off the attacking stat which ultimately, if you're in it for the long haul, you do not want train points in. Ugh. Now, I don't deny Thunderstorm has its uses, but it's a more defensive fit, and this guy's probably the least defensive of the trio. Nice speed, though. All in 
 all, though, he functions pretty much like Jimitron does. Electric move, Bite, Electric Shield, Quicken. Has overall better stats but takes longer to get his good electric move, which is more powerful but can miss.

I thought I heard on the playthrough out there where he did a critical hit on irroadium and it did close to 100 damage where it was doing 40 to 50 damage normally. Maybe that's something new? Another stripe on the tiger then? He's already got abilities on top of abilities anyway. I'd love to have access to his god form abilities and moveset. I'm curious, if you had someone trade you the mythicals after you first start a game, when would you be able to start using them? How lol would that be to just be able to blitz through the game with irroadium.

Morokuma's rpg appreciation thread

Hi,I've noticed we've not had a proper thread concerning these games, and I fully believe they deserve one.  As strategic, turnbased rpgs go, all of these from Tia Story to Dungeon Quest are such great fun to play.  This is by far my favourite genre of game and I can't wait to talk about them all.  Ever since JGT came out, these have been even more fun to play due to  how simple menu navigation has become.I'm currently playing Alternative Magic and have gotten past the light puzzle where you answer questions.I will be honest, I have had very little trouble understanding at least the rough meaning of most of the dialogue, but when it came to this puzzle, I am so grateful that someone had kindly put the correct choices for this one on here.So let's discuss.  Questions, tips, experiences, put them all here.The slot machines are rather hard to get used to I'm finding, but hopefully with practice... I will win!

Thank you, k_jones. I wasn't looking for the game but I'm always open to looking at something new, or at least new to me.I have a sendspace pro account, I chose them because I found them fully accessible. The only thing I found to be not very accessible were buttons in the client configuration screen that allowed you to change the colors of some user interface elements, which I can't use, so I don't care about. Another reason is because that's what the Blind Mice Movie Vault uses, so now I can download movies from there at full speed.All I'm doing with the online storage right now is hosting a file that doesn't have a home.Though now I wonder if the games archive might provide one.

That actually strikes me as more hassle to code than items/manuals/NPCs that teach moves.What I'd like to see are teachable moves in the form of move tutors. You know how there's already a guy who will, for a price, teach a manamon moves it's forgotten? Well, god knows there are a ton of useless NPCs in the game. You could give even a dozen or a dozen and a half of them tutor moves, which certain manamon could learn. Then the only hassle would be in deciding who learns what.Example: maybe there's a guy in Hazeldale who will teach Sound Wave. Or someone in Brightstar who will teach Tunnel. Stuff like that. Almost all of the code is already there.And nice on Irroadium and critical hits. I never actually noticed that before. I think it might be new though. Unless my memory is bad, I could've sworn I've seen criticals do more damage vs. Irroadium than normal hits.

@Chris. In order to move you have to hold the right mouse button down. The player moves in a straight line towards the position of the mouse pointer, until it is reached.Perhaps confusingly, its actually the mouse pointer that moves towards the player, because the player is always at the centre of the display.In regard to the sounds, there are four channels.One channel plays the signature of the closest door, if any, in the current direction of hearing.another channel plays the signature of the closest treasure or robot, if any, in the direction of hearinga third channel plays the room tones that serve as a type of tactile audio, when you move the mouse.a fourth channel plays other incidental soundsOne of the menu options is a sound list with 15 entries.I hope the above helps.The design was partially a test to determine how it might be possible to convey non-visual information stored in a grid or 2 dimensional table.

I think I've solved the mouse issue. I guess I have to drag my finger around the trackpad to hear all the menu options. I guess I was expecting to flick around. I'm too used to touch screens, not the mouse pointer in Windows. Anyway, I've got the game going now but am very confused. When I start, I hear a bunch of beeps and tones. When I drag my finger on the touchpad, it tells me there is a corridor and a junction and some other things like walls. How do I move? I tried right clicking or control clicking on the Mac to simulate a right click but nothing happens. Is a right click supposed to move?

But it seems like every time I want to press alt-tab through things I get the following help balloon messages every time. John, normally when you run on Ghorthalon's server, your address is yourdomain.tdrealms.com, so in our case it would be agarchive.tdrealms.com. All our html pages point to agarchive.net, so that would have to be changed manually. Unless Ghorthalon can set us up with agarchive.net on his server. As for the reason the games directory was deleted, that unfortunately does not surprise me. A part of me thought we'd have it coming, but I figured we should give it time as we had enough explanation on the site, the faq, the game's pages for the Average Joe to understand that we are only hosting the demos of commercial titles, the games and patches for abandoned ones, and free titles, all that allow distribution of the setup files, and that if a dev didn't want their game hosted we can be reasonable with that. But nearly every hosting provider will get suspicious if a huge amount of exe's are uploaded at any given time, the size of the archive alone was probably en
 ough to get us scrutinized by the host. Now that this has happened to us, I feel it's better we run off of someone who we know we can rely on, a friend and one of this community's own developers, running on his own server, rather than a commercial webhost that may or may not agree with what we're doing.

Just did the Irroadium fight. Once you're used to it and know what to expect, assuming you have a team that can handle it of course, it's really not too bad. 2 mud ball accuracy drops from Fauntozaur and Magic Lights from Polosses drastically lowered his damage output. Then I just hammered away with Ice Cutter, White Lance from Tenshaino, then Toxic Tail from Grandlan. Only had 2 faints in the whole fight, the first was when Final Oblivion hit Tenshaino, then at the very end he finally wore down Polosses enough to defeat it. I used exactly 0 items in the fight. BTW, random observation I made that I'm not sure if anyone else has picked up on, but add one more thing Irroadium is immune to: Critical hits. It'll still hit, but does no extra damage. I got a critical hit with White Lance that did 60 damage, then White lance hit again and wasn't a critical, and did... 62 damage. And there were no stat changes other than accuracy.Just thought of an idea that could help with movesets a bit, and wouldn't take as long to add in as skill manuals: Breeding moves. Yes, I know, another inspiration from Pokémon, but it could work a little differently. Since other than with one exception, you don't provide the manamon that your mon breeds with, it could be stated that the breeding moves come from his Manamon. Each Manamon could have 2 to 3 moves in its breeding move pool that it doesn't get via level up, and one is selected at random each time you receive a baby. That could help add some variety, since some manamon would get more than one good move, but of course they can't have both at the same time. There are other ways this could be done, like each move just having a set chance to be present, allowing for any combination, but yeah. It's an idea to work with.

I considered Google Drive, but the hassle was more than I was willing to put up with.I should get a proper server of my own. I should also study ODE and practice Japanese and build a Feelscreen and finish a game with a tutorial because everything has to have tutorials these days... *ahem*.Or I could buy a Sendspace pro account and just upload everything to that. John, unfortunately I see this as a very common thing in the terms of service of most web hosting providers. That vague statement that a site cannot be a file storage, or a series of pages of download links, and has to have functional pages within. Granted, this site does, so if that was all there was to it this site would fit that criteria. However, I have a feeling there's some sort of behind the scenes discretion on the host's end, i e, maybe they don't look too kindly on a huge bulk of applications being uploaded to a server at a given time, and they could've gotten suspicious. At the same time, antivirus programs sometimes don't know what they're doing and flag a lot of games, particularly bsc's for some reason, and take them down. Personally I think a dedicated server with no antivirus, something to hold us back, no bandwidth constraints that I'm aware of, would be a good idea for a huge page like this. However, here's one huge, h
 uge problem. Since we included the full-length url's in every link, we'd have to go through the huge pain-in-the-ass process of directing every download/information link to agarchive.tdrealms.com, which will take a good few hours to do in one sitting. Unless, Ghorthalon could provide us with a domain on his server rather than a subdomain. If this could be done, would you be fine moving servers? I just think, that while Jollyleaf could definitely fix this for us, this is still a constraint we'd have to deal with, and who's to know if it'll happen again or not. I think a good idea to move things over to a server with no constraints, nothing beyond the control of Ghorthalon and us, and a faster running server in general.

Second update:It appears that in order to distribute the games, cPanel is going to ask for documentation for each file that we do in fact have rights to distribute them (since the directory is quarantined, there's no way for either I or Jolly Leaf to see which files are causing issues).Since providing this documentation essentially requires installing and reviewing the licenses for over 450 different titles, it would seem vastly more expedient to search for somewhere else to host the games.Therefore, I'm actively looking for feedback: does anybody have ideas for where to store the files that would make them easily accessible and keep them available on a constant basis?I'll be posting this message to both audiogames.net and the audyssey mailing list, so hopefully we'll be able to come up with something that works.

It's not a clear-cut choice between Bombusect and Skirial, that's for sure. I'd pick Skirial, but Bombusect has his uses. It's sad that we're choosing between two fairly inept insects though.In the General Discussion board there's a thread where you can create your own manamon. I've made a pile of them, including a bunch of insect types. Heh.And yeah. Pandourbit is in my guide, as is the method for getting both Arctana and Deciced. You can always download it for a reference (it's just a text file), then do a find for the manamon you want.

Update:Yes, the games are still down.No, don't send hatemail to Jolly Leaf - they're doing everything they can to help out with this.Reason: cPanel's system has flagged currently unknown files for copyright reasons, i.e: it doesn't think we should be distributing games because we didn't write them.The current plan is to wait and see what we can do to get the issue resolved.I would advise against something as complicated as a torent setup, because of the software and knowhow requirements. Using something like that inherently limits your user base to only those who are willing to install and learn a new piece of software, whereas a website or ftp based system allows access by everybody with a browser.

@Afrim, I certainly agree that the hole "man as provider" thing has real problems. I hate it when a woman says of her boyfriend or husband "well he's a good provider", ie, he has a good wage and gives me things. It certainly is true that a lot of the conventional rituals are indeed very devisive, for example I've heard of women (from a guy this happened to), who basically go on dating sites in order to find guys who will buy them meals out in restaurants, because of course it is the guy who must pay, according to convention.All of that is absolutely true. At the same time however there is another side to this coin and one I'd probably not been aware of had I not met my lady, that is the side of wanting another's happiness more than your own, and being willing to buy things for that, or even make financial sacrifices to that end, including buying things, also when your actually living with someoen the dynamic changes just on the basis 
 that there are two of you in a house together and financial arrangements need to be honest between you.So yes, conventional rituals certainly, but equaly don't mistake actual love and the desire to do something nice for someone as part of just the usual pattern or the girl trying to get everything she wants out of the guy.

You get 15 GB free storage and can create public links, though it's a bit of a hastle to do so.I could try hosting your games for you on my Google Drive if you want, so you don't have to set that up. IIRC, they're not large and I don't use Drive for a ton of other things right now.

the equipment stuff is very difficult, I haven't managed to equip anything.as for the gameplay itself, you walk around, interacting with object, and kill enemies. this game also has a shooting part, so lots of patience are required.the game also have QTE's, but that's simple to do. for example, after saving the eagle belarem, you will enter the gate and you have to destroy 2 war machine. in this part, you will have to search the war machine and if you found it, the character will let you know about it.to destroy it, just press the interact button rapidly and repeat the process once more for the second war machine.

Arctana doesn't transform into Deciced, check your Manapedia. You need a soulless heartstone, I'll tell you that much. Also, totally random, but am I the only one who typos Deciced as Decided every single time?@Jayde, pretty sure Bombusect gets nothing after Limb Thrust, as in my first file I had him in the 60s and he got nothing after it. Didn't know Skiriel got Toxic Storm too, yeah, that definitely helps. I see what you mean now. Bombusect is awesome at low levels, but eventually Desoul and Fang Drain just don't cut it when you aren't taking 60 power moves anymore, but are regularly pitted against 80 power and higher.

Hi.  How exactly is war in the north playable?   I thought there was lots of fiddling  with equipment which sadly isn't probably doable.  Please feel free to prove me wrong though, I'd love to play this one  .

Ahh, thank You Assault Freak, I must've gotten the wrong idea in the keynote.I also must point out that there are other third party companies making headphones compatible with the iPhone 7, Beats for example. Granted, Beat are crazy expensive, but if you don't want to use the Earpods, there's always that option.

Dragomier, the box does not come with a set of wireless earbuds... the earpods that come with the phone are the same old earpods we've come to know, just with a lightning port on the end instead of a 3.5 MM headphone jack. Just thought to clarify that... as people might get the wrong idea. The $159 airpods are a separate purchase.@Simba, sure Apple and Android are the two most highly used smartphone operating systems in the world, but remember that there are countries where these phones are not available and people have to make do with other companies and their systems as well. And sure, Apple isn't locking you in, they're just putting the leash around your neck instead of actually pulling on it by saying hey, you can use whatever bluetooth products you want, but the best way is to use our stuff because it's the best experience possible, only problem is you have to pay a stupidly expensive price! Not to mention that the buds you're paying for don�
 39;t have nearly as long battery life as some bluetooth headsets that probably sound better and have longer life for less of a price, and for many people, will probably be lost easily.For the record, I'm over this whole lack of a headphone jack. I don't like it, but the milk's been spilt and has already gone sour so there's no use crying over it. This is going to be what it is... and I'm going to be on my iphone 6 either until my new contract in December when I might get a new phone or just stay with it for another two years. But for all those who make it sound like only blind people getting upset over this, check your news sources.. this is generating just as much controversy in the sighted market as it is in the blind community.

at dragomier, you know, I think that apple wants to make their phones water resistent is just one part of the deal. Shurley they want to nudge their customers in to the direction of wireless headphones and stuff, but also saying that the phone is getting water resistant, is kind of strange to me, due to the fact that other developerrs of android smartphones also made their phones IP 67 proove, without removing the headphone jack.

Hi.NHL 2004 is an EA Sports game and can shurely be downloaded, but I will not post any links de to the fact that this would violate the forum rules.You can get the game on amazon or ebay for some bugs, it's not that expensive anymore.

Earthquake. Right, banyardan gets that at what? 56? Leonatar gets it at 42 or something and really starts to wreck things. Leonatar is also fast! Putting a gravity magnet on that thing was amusing to me. Having that one go out first and erroir just made all those group fights piss easy.

It works because I'm running a virtual copy of Windows XP inside VMware Fusion. It should also work just fine using BootCamp since that's running native Windows on the Macintosh hardware. My question was more about the trackpad. Is it possible to play this game using a trackpad on a Mac or any kind of trackpad you would find on standard Windows machines?

I just found out about something even better than Sonos or Chromecast. It is Airfoil from Rogue Amoeba. This program is awesome! It streams to airplay, bluetooth, and other devices/computers running Airfoil Satellite. I heard that they were planning to add Chromecast audio which is even better. This beats my Miccus because it can send audio to far more devices at once. It also allows the user to choose what specific application to stream audio from. I think the price is pretty reasonable, but won't be buying it right now as I have no use for a multiform setup. Still, this thing rocks!
