How does the system recognize new servers?@turtlepower17: This is properly your router which is giving you trouble. Try to connect to your server locally on the same machine where you're hosting your server by connecting to: 127.0.0.1 and the port you have configured the server to use. If that works, this is properly your router...An other thing you can try is to open up the Windows firewall, and give the server and the client full access. Sometimes you need to do that in Windows firewall also if you turn off the firewall. It's Microsoft, you know, and their firewall is just very annoying...

I honestly don't like the "one item" thing, the one used in old monti and this current tomb hunter. Sure could do it if it's something about durability. You can switch weapons, have block/parry/whatever. No guns, just bows (unlike the original tombhunter that has guns). Finding gun ammoes lying around the "tomb"/or tem ple sorta ruins the atmosphere. Who in ancient days use guns anyway. Flintlocks may be, but let's say something like centaurs definetly don't use that either, lol.One question: How would bosses work if you plan it to be 10 tombs though?

As someone who worked with Ultrapower's code after it was leaked, I can only say this: if you want to make a game, I would make it from scratch and not rely o much on that source code. Here's why. First, its your own code. Nothing's better than looking at your own code, and understanding the entire thing. You worked on it, you made it, its just better. Second: The source code to that game can go so far, and the server is very, very, very, laggy! Sure, people can fix it, but that would take quite a bit of work and at that point, you're better off writing your own server. I mean, the way I would put it, go ahead, use some of that code, like the map system, for example. But hey, that's not my decision because whatever you choose to do with the code is your own choice. Mason, I would like to say thank you, for releasing that code to the public and allowing it to be used. At first I was a little bit mad because now that's all we're gonna see, is the f
 orum getting spammed with Ultrapower topics. But hey, your game, your code. If anything you're doing me a favor, trying to stop these people from creating more clones. I personally favor the combat the way it is. I sort of feel like this is in a medieval setting with a few supernatural forces in play. The idea of advanced combat and more modern weapons like guns made it feel more generic to me. It didn't ruin it but took away from the sort of mysterious atmosphere I perceived without them.

I am just disgusted atm.Eurofly if you read the first post is suppose to be a geographical atlas first and a flight simulator second.Could its flight sim aspects use some improvements? yes, is it better imo than whatever else we have atm imo, yes it is. at least no game does what this does. I.E allows me to walk on a map or fly sort of from 1 place to another. DracoSelene89, frankly the way you have worded that list, is a perfect example why blind gamers don't have as many games to play and why developers are pulling out of the audiogame development. Okay, here is a little more information 4d, though I admit it comes with a bit of a proviso. The good news is yes, the mud has lots of crafting options, probably more than including farming, both mushrooms and vegitables, fruit picking, cooking, weaving, dying tanning, brewing, gem mining, gold mining, smithing, fishing, carpentry and lumber chopping smelting and a lot more besides.What is cool about a lot of these crafts is that they involved exploring and questing, for example cooking you need to track engredients such as seeds down, even lumberjacking you need to do a quest and then look for trees, and isnce the game is huge with many areas that means lots of exploring.The bad news is when I tried these crafts I found things buggy as hell, either that or I simply got things wrong. For example, I tried cooking. I read in the cooking help that fresh eggs could be got from a chicken farm so I went to the farm looking for eggs,  and there were none! I
  found the nesting boxes,and even the straw on the barn floor  but not a single egg to be seen. I did wait for the area to repop and again, no eggs, I asked and nobody had much info. I then tried skinning a cow and scraping the hide and whenever I tried to scrape the hide I was told "you need to the hide to scrape it"another player tried and once again, no dice. I suspect there is a really great system in there, and what's more, one you can advance without a single blow of combat should you wish, but I just could never get things to work as described,  not that it relates to trading but this goes for being a jockey and racing too.All in all quite disappointing, unless I'm utterly missing something of course.

Okay I am afraid my last experience is far less positive. Since I fancied something with less mob murder I decided to try cooking. So I found the person giving cooking lessons and was told to prepare a recipe.First thing to find eggs. Okay, the trade info tells me the chicken farm with eggs is, however are there eggs there? are there buggery! and nobody on the game seems to know. I did manage to some milk however then when I tried to scrape the hides of the cows to earn some cash the scrape command just plane didn't work, I wielded the knife and held the hide as the directions said and I was told "you need to hold the ihide" I tried with several hides and another player tried, ti worked for him not me. Finally, I try to register on the forum to let people know about these problems, and guess what? the audio capcha doesn't work, and I'm told I didn't get the verification right either. I'm sure there is a great game
  in there somewhere, but honestly this one seems so bloody buggy and I don't think there is anyone to actuall tell about the bugs. what is the real shame is the bugs seem to exist for the trade skills, and yet the trade skills are potentially some of the most interesting parts of the game.

I'd like to get a server up and running, for private use by a couple of friends and I. However, I can't seem to get it to actually connect. I have a strong suspicion that it's some sort of router issue, but I've followed the instructions for port forwarding with my router model to the letter, and I'm still having problems connecting.The reason I think it may be a router issue is because I also tried forwarding the port needed for using NVDA Remote, and, while it does successfully retrieve my external IP address, it gives an error that says that the port isn't forwarded, even though I've already done that. I feel like I'm missing something glaringly obvious here. Does anyone have any tips as to where I can start looking for the problem? I'm pretty sure that my server config file, and the maps.list, are ok. If not for the NVDA Remote issue tipping me off that something wasn't right, I probably would have chalked it up to an er
 ror on my part building one of those two files. As it stands, I'm not sure what to do from here.When I ran the server2110.exe file, I did allow access to it via my firewall. It's just Windows firewall, nothing fancy, and I'm currently using Nod32 antivirus. I'm also trying to run this server using Windows 10.Does anyone have any ideas?

@Mason, giving hatred to yourself would really take your motivation down. All know that you develop well, despite the period of time you abandon a certain project, like what happened to Redspot and the way you insist on stopping due to your own desire or rather, the absance you've taken way ago. All of us will someday know that if a game is released, we'd know whether it is stolen from Ultra Power's source or not, even if they change things. What can they do for example? Make it 3d rotational? and 2d not side scrolling? It'll be soon known, no matter what they change or add.

Hi,Looks like there has been some... error in communication.masonian says that he was just ok with  desafio mortal using UP source code and sebby mistook it as the UP sourcecode being free for anyone and everyone.I actually agreed with Sebby's post and was like this'll bring in many clones but ones that were nothing but UP would just be forgotten after a while... @masonian, honestly though at this point you'd be better off allowing people to use that code than not since so many already seem to have access to the code. Tom Ward's system had the traditional setup, IE numbers to change weapons and space to fire them. You could draw or holster a weapon with w. If the weapon was drawn your jump height/distance were reduced.I think this could be improved, maybe with light/heavy attacks (Lighter attacks are faster, etc) as well as an option to actually block attacks for once. I think it would improve things, in my opinion it would be more fun than jumping out of the way of enemies and occasionally hitting enter and hoping.

Is there any chance you could change up the combat system a bit? I personally think the one the later USA Games Tomb Hunter used made the game a lot more fun. It has a lot of room for expansion as well. Maybe the player could exchange temple gold for weapons between temples and upgrade stats that way, etc.

The walls issue has been fixed for the new beta. Also, I was trying to go for a combined Alchemy/Mota feel, which is probably why it's not the same as Alchemy's version and also not the same as Thomas's version.

I just checked out this game, and I really like it! I completed all six levels. I do have some suggestions though.1. Some grammar is a little weird, and some objects don't seem to have names. Some things that come to mind are "swimming" should probably be "deep water" or something. There are also moments where an over 200-foot drop is spotted, but it's just a border and there is no danger of falling. There are also sections which have a few hundred squares of nothing until you eventually reach the wall. In general there should be more walls in those areas so that there aren't mindless open spaces. Also surfaces have weird numbers after them which don't make a lot of sense to me. And the manual is ripping too much from the Alchemy games manual, and there are a few alchemy references which are confusing, and not enough original material to make it feel like a different game's manual. I'm pretty certain all of these things I men
 tion are just placeholders and will be improved in the final version.2. This game seems to be more focused on platforming and navigating through the levels, but in the alchemy version, it was more about evading the traps. With a few exceptions the layouts were simple. Enemies moved quickly, though nothing had a perceivable step speed. Some obstacles could only be cleared with running jumps, and even then you had to be careful as if you jumped just a hair early or late, you wouldn't make the jump. Electric fields and platforms were very quick to appear and disappear, and so timing became a real concern. Nothing felt like a grid or a matter of coordinates. While I know different games will play differently and can't be expected to match, the alchemy games way of doing things just felt the most alive and I've always hoped it would be recreated in remakes, and it never really has. I do like Tomb Hunter how it is though, I'm just reminiscing and wondering if any
 one shares this thought. LolThere are a few more things I have in mind but the two I've listed above are the most significant, the others are probably asking too much at this point in development. I definitely wish you well on the way forward! I will probably wait until the game's release to purchase it, but rest assured it will have my support.

Okay after lots of running around and hack n slash on aardwolf I was in the mood for something a bit more interlectual and decided to give this one another go. I finished the newbie zone and did all the tasks though didn't get anything for it which was a might disappointing. I am now trying cooking since some of the trades look interesting. One thing I will say is this game has some really awesome vi maps, even down to areas like outerspace, and people are good at answering questions which is very nice, although I do find some of the syntax for some activities a bit irritating (I couldn't get racing sorted since I didn't know how to equip items onto my horse and the sign just saying "saddle horse" didn't help.One thing which does look nice is the fact that trades in this game are far more about exploring, eg, to cook you need to actually find ingredients for which you need to wander around, as well as do tasks like churn mil
 k into cheese, farm vegitables, get filets of meet from corpses etc. I am not sure et how much in terms of things like plants is randomly generated and how much you need to explore, but I do like the fact that the trades really do give you something to do besides mob murder. Btw, speaking of mob murder, one thing I do notice is that each time zone has suggested newbie areas such as the royal forest in medieval or the game grid in future. The only major problem I have is comparing items and knowing what gear I should use for what, though as I'm concentrating on trades right now I haven't run into anything too dire.

Mason, I feel bad that you have been somewhat forced into this position, because the users of your stolen code have shown they are not going to stop.  It's true you are "choosing" to make Ultra power free, but I understand that this is actually a gift you are giving to myself and the other moderators.  This is not a developer happily giving something to the rest of the dev community, this is a person letting the moderator team off the hook, realizing how much work it will be for us to police and battle to stop the future "UP clones".  I use the popularized term "UP clone" to refer to games created using Mason's original code.Mason I thank you.  As a fellow developer I can appreciate that it took to do this, and I believe I understand the reasons behind it.

Well, much to my disliking, I have set UP free, as stated before. It wasn't a choice I wanted to make, seeing so much of my hard work and others' hard work put to waste. However, I do understand what this means, I'll probably be hated because of my decission. And here's why I chose it.No matter if I had or hadn't, people were just gonna keep posting UP topics over and over and either way there's nothing we could've done about it. And I really don't care as much what happens to my code.If someone propperly can expand and update that code, they will prove themselves a decent coder. If it's just a UP clone, then it's not worth anything. Ug I don't know. Any decission I would've made someone wasn't gonna be happy. Sometimes I just wish I'd never created that game and worked on that for so long. I don't know what to do at this point.

It looks like that file only appears once you've disabled the addon.Since it's enabled by default, you would need to disable it with f 12 before the file shows up.If you don't have the keymap set in the addons configuration setting, you would need to find the addon through system addons my addons services kodi screen reader.

If I'm understanding correctly, if you wish to pre-order, you can get access to the betas, rite until the full game is released. Hi Guys,Is the game actually being updated? I mean, if yes, That's a surprise, but in a nice way. So how much are we allowed to know about it? It sounds like it is pretty well redesigned, is susi is going. I hope it's not going in the direction of other shooting games, where a time bomb is enough to take 4000 health. OK, that may have been a direct hint at another game, but still, I will, and have always liked RTR over that thing. Best braille display support of all I have tried so far, detailed, and not all the same maps, optional servers, simple, but still fun. I, however, have a question. What's a Dynamic server list, please?

I actually am gonna consider giving Michael Taboada his own page because of Easter Quest, those games were pretty big. In C89 you have to declare all variables at the start of the function. Also doing something like for (int c=0;c < 5;c++) {} will just not work. C99 and C++ changed this.

Oh btw, I just remembered a question regarding STW-gameplay in general:Does the selected gender of our characters make any difference at all?So far I haven't noticed any, not even by the voice and emotes (a.k.a. "socials") of the characters in the game, they all sound "quite male" to me...(including my own ones of course)

Best Space MOO for RP

I've played miriani, star conquest, and cosmic rage off and on now, but I still don't feel as if I've found a game that allows me to play any profession I want. I like miriani, but there doesn't seem to be much room for people who don't want to be pilots. Sure, there are other activities, but piloting seems to be where it's at. Star conquest seems to confine you into a pilot role, and they seem to look at you sideways if you don't want to be a pilot. I've tried cosmic rage, and it's okay so far, but I don't know how to find RP, and there's a lack of interesting activities for the lower levels. Which of these, in your opinion, is better at RP? I'm willing to give each another chance, but I'm a bit put off by star conquest not having much support for people who don't want to be pilots. Thanks.

@ironcross32: I think the community will speak if a game is nothing but ultrapower itself with nothing else added, and I think those games will just die. With stuff like Desafio Mortal, it shows that expansion is possible from the ultrapower code, and I think if people were to just put up games that had nothing new now, it'd be an utter mess. So, it's up to people to make judgement and not jsut get the code, rename it, and upload, because in the end it will just hurt their development.

Hi Ethin,I myself use bgt because I don't quite have the knowledge or patience to, gather all the billions of dependencies it takes to create a decent audio system, not forgetting most people end up writing there own take on sound positioning of course, keyboard input, mouse if it's needed, speech, networking if needed which most do for update checking, file parcing if your game has save data, and file encryption/decryption so people don't mess with your save data.And don't forget, you also get to have fun putting it all together for a test release build, or a final release so your users can play your game without requiring the language of choice, and therefore revealing your source.I did try python and was actually liking it, really I was. But the frustrating compilation issues related to dependencies and the fact I learn slowly made me go back to the drawing board.I applaud those who have the patience for this kind of thing, but I, am 
 not one of them. I think this is a terrible decision, now it gives the low life pieces of crap out there not only the opportunity to distribute their games derived by UP code, but also it sets a precedent that stealing code is OK, because eventually people will get tired of seeing the topics and just say well OK, I've had it, have at it peeps. I think this will bring more low quality games to the forefront, that, to be honest, don't deserve a page here, because they were thrown together in a week or two because they got a leg up off of stolen code.I sympethize with forum staff who have had to deal with the torrent of UP related games off of this mass barrage of code stealing that has taken place. I get that it is not fun to be a moderator, it is a responsibility, and you have to make a lot of tough decisions. I get that even though you have taken the responsibility of standing up for game developers, this is a slog of a fight that can get wearing at times. I'm sure there are 
 other factors that I don't get, and wouldn't get unless I had spent time as a moderator of this forum, I'm not trying to act as if I know what's like, I am just pulling from other life experiences here. I also get that the decision is made, and I have no say in the matter. I am simply writing about this because it concerns me that now, people will be able to use UP code to write games that they will throw up and that are probably gonna suck. If you want code base to start off with, find a lib or two. If you want to learn, ask people to help you. Or, read the BGT manual. It's pretty in depth. I also get that coding is hard work, and you need to look at examples to know how certain things work, that's how I learn best, and I will tell you as you have seen me write here many times before, I, suck, at, coding! It does help to have examples, it does help to be able to look through others' code to see how they have done things. But, coding is more than j
 ust that, its solving problems, and when you work for what you want, it is a lot better, and a lot more satisfying when you make progress, when you achieve the goals that you've set out to. You feel a sense of well-being and accomplishment. I don't condone code stealing at all. I also don't' want to play a game if I know that it's source was derived from stolen code.I just think this will come back to bite us all in the end, when we are flooded with low quality games that aren't worth our time. I also don't think it was right to cave in and say OK, just, just have it. But that's just me. Anyway, not trying to bash here, just trying to get my point across.

Tried the 32-bit version of the in between releases version with Vista. This one simply doesn't run at all. I'm guessing it just closes without any displayed errors. Rebuilt the performance information. The program stilled closed without any notice. Tried the previous version just to see if it worked after rebuilding. It still crashes.Hope this helps!

I think I'm better off finding someone willing to host. I tried to find the information for my wireless network and about all I accomplished was apparently irrevocably disconnecting my computer from it. I can still connect directly if I plug the computer into the modem so if I can just manage to catch someone online at the same time we could do it that way. I should have known this wasn't going to be a good area for self-experimentation LOL.

@DracoSelene89 agree with nearly everything there. I too wrote to them in January and got no response, basicly saying the same things as you; the aircraft, the sounds, the awful flight model ETC. It's so disappointing that this game, which had potencial, is still exactly the same as it was when it was released. It seems to me they seem to want to just add more rubbish to the game, like airports, well yeah that's nice but why not try and get the basics right first. They won't listen to feedback and I can't see any change. I think, in the end, it might come down to someone who is good with creating games in the community having to do it, or this game will end up having a very short life. You can't just make a game, say it's for the blind and that makes it great, and then just abandon it adding in the occasional tower voice submitted to them by someone else and airports submitted to them also by other people. I thought, when it started, the game might be
 come something great, now it's becoming really boring to play it. P.S, thanks for the aircraft suggestions, think someone made a DC4 and I put it in one of my uploaded folders but i'll have a go at the rest at some point. I'd rather have a game rich in detail and with fewer aircraft than the other way around but it's the only way I can make it more interesting right now by adding more planes.Edit: I just really want this game to advance and become something I know it could become with dedication from a dev. Fsx with IYP is good, but there's nothing like manually controlling an aircraft yourself, being able to make the inputs exactly how you want them. There's also nothing like eurofly in terms of a windows audiogame, which is why I really would like for it to continue getting better, just don't think it will happen sadly.

Aaron. I just thought it would be a good way of giving a coin output that would take a year in case you get like 200 coins per game or what not.Phil. @DracoSelene89 agree with nearly everything there. I too wrote to them in January and got no response, basicly saying the same things as you; the aircraft, the sounds, the awful flight model ETC. It's so disappointing that this game, which had potencial, is still exactly the same as it was when it was released. It seems to me they seem to want to just add more rubbish to the game, like airports, well yeah that's nice but why not try and get the basics right first. They won't listen to feedback and I can't see any change. I think, in the end, it might come down to someone who is good with creating games in the community having to do it, or this game will end up having a very short life. You can't just make a game, say it's for the blind and that makes it great, and then just abandon it adding in the occasional tower voice submitted to them by someone else and airports submitted to them also by other people. I thought, when it started, the game might be
 come something great, now it's becoming really boring to play it. P.S, thanks for the aircraft suggestions, think someone made a DC4 and I put it in one of my uploaded folders but i'll have a go at the rest at some point. I'd rather have a game rich in detail and with fewer aircraft than the other way around but it's the only way I can make it more interesting right now by adding more planes.

Gonna ask this hereFor the CoG stuffIs there a way I can get access to every game in a bundle or do I have to buy them all individually? I started this but used up the free trial and the same on a few others, and the prices seem to vary wildly, so I wondered if I could pay a certain amount for a subscription to play all the games without buying them all at once. Severaaal of the games look really, really interesting actually.
