@stewie The best way to understand where you are is to use the near by filter within FTL under helm, this will show sectors around your current position. You can also choose report under the tactical menu which shows just your current location. In terms of the map of known space, I'll include a text version in this post, at the end.@Orin The story is triggered for your character when conditions are met, certain locations are visited or certain actions are performed. Explore away.  DIscworld's quests are hidden all over the place.  try buying a tin of beer a couple west, then north, then east from the mended drum and shaking it up.DIscworld quests are things you stumble on by walking around, looking at things and an ocational hint, but most of them are stumbled on.  There's a wiki link of spoilers/quest descriptions on the discworld wiki somewhere.

Hey,I can't speak to everyone, but I can make a few suggestions.Are you questing super quickly in succession? If so, definitely don't do that. At most one quest every year is acceptable, it's better to wait a couple years, or even three. What are the stats of the noble you send? It's entirely possible they just aren't good at combat.As regards beastmen, horse spawn and etc, another quest might be useful for mending relations. Chalana Aroy or Issaries are worth considering. Horse spawn will probably always be a bit annoying, but fortifications can definitely help with that.The game is occasionally very tough. If you're playing on any difficulty level above normal, this is even more true. Still, it does sound like you need to work on putting your clan back on the right foot. Do you already have a tribe? This makes a big difference in itself.Hope his helps a bit. The game is random enough that I can't give super sp
 ecific advice, but it is mostly fair, except on hard.

I didn't see it had spilled onto a second page. :-)I did do "21 black jack", but I'm not sure that really counts!Someone asked me to do chess once, but I was afraid that it would be hard to craft a good user experience. There's just too much going on. One of the most challenging things, so far, in Six Swords was giving the results of a combat. You've got 20 to 40 lines of A hits/misses B with a C for D damage and does/not kill. That was really tedious to listen to in the first draft. So I put a lot of work into trying to condense it down into a much easier to listen to narrative discourse. And, even as it is, it still needs more work.So with a chess board, or a hand of cards, you need to be able to list everything in play so that if you lose track you can work out what your options are. If you have a whole bunch of things that can, potentially, be in play at any time, it gets problematic. And that's the thing. It
 9;s not hard to program, it's hard to make playable.That being said, I played Magic the Gathering for a while about 20 years ago. I'm not that up to date on card games. If you want to point me at a card game or board game you think might be suitable, I'll take a look. Ideally a game that is either open source, or someone who has said it is OK to use their intellectual property in other mediums. (Six Swords is based on the "Old School Reference and Index Compendium" because it has an open license.)If someone here has written a card game or something they think would make a good audio game, I'm happy to look at that too.

When you click on menus, most of them actually speak what they are. In story mode, I remember that the first choice is the actual story mode, and the menu below that one is character stories.As for survival mode, the choices from with in that menu is,1st screen, the number of opponents you must survive through. I think it's something like, 10, 30, 50, 75, 1002nd screen is where you choose your character. They will speak a line, when you click on them so, you will know you are choosing. If you don't want to choose that character, you can just back out once, to re-choose a character.

Okay, so, I don't know if this goes here or over in the developers room, so sorry in advance for messing up organization if I am doing such things. So, I was interested in C#, and I didn't feel like picking up a copy of Visual Studio. I know that the csc.exe was the compiler, and I used Java before all of this. I recalled that you needed to create a path variable to use Javac and Java anywhere on the machine withe command line. I got to wondering this evening while I was having trouble finding command line tools for C#, "What else could I use a path variable for?" So, I took my .net framework path and threw it in that path variable after a semicolon... Then, I sat back and watched the fireworks... Well, it appears to work. I do have a bunch of new variables, though. So, as far as I am aware, Life Hacked! Along with my computer, as well. I guess, anyway. So, did I do anything that might have a high chance of having potentially dangerous consequences to my comput
 er, or am I free to use my new found ability to use csc.exe where ever I want on my machine along with the rest of the .net framework tools?

KODP, aka, King of dragon pass.

Here is what I call SOL. I am trying to complete the making of a storm tribe, and fail, 3 times. I follow the myth, so at a part with the plants I choose to fight both of them. It fails 3 fucking times, but I have done the quest before by making the same choice. The beastman keep warning me  that I have offended them, but I have no idea how. The ducks are keep burning  my steds and I can't do a damn thing about it  because they have an alliance with the beastman, and I still want to live. Horse spawn and the trolls keep raiding me, and while the trolls arm't a problem, the  nomads are. So is the game that nice to everyone? Or the gods truly hate me.

All right, so this may be coming across as a bit of a rant, but it’s more intended to lay out my frustrations and get help from someone who obviously understands things better, and how to work the game better, so, I’m honestly not meaning to just complain, but to seek advice.Let’s focus on mage, or as the game calls it, master.  I’m level 34, and finding it deffinetly a challenge to get experience.  The areas that I can survive are way too easy, and I’ll be there for a month just to get the next level’s worth of experience.  I’ve tried the stone toomb, centapedes, snake forest, the wooma forest and first level of temple, and, well, I feel like anywhere else I can survive.  Include the mine there, tooThe levels up – wooma temple second level, advanced trial room, in the water where I fish, and anything beyond the mine, let’s say, slotter me in no time.  I have little HP, and my spells, taking up ten mana for Laser Eyes, sap me of mana so quickly that I have to spend thousands of gold to simply get anywhere.  It’s unfortunate for me because, while I have donated and will do so in the future I’m sure, I am not going to donate to keep my potion store alive.  To put it bluntly, it’s either too easy and no gain, or too hard and I loose ground due to deaths, and I can’t keep my mana high enough to do enough damage to kill things.  In the advanced trial room, for example, I will go through a hundred of the largest mana potions in about an hour.  Add health potions on top of that, and I’m down 160k.  How about a team, you say?  I follow a summoner friend around and get sucked into battles because he moves, which drags me back toward him, and thanks to the number of enemies, I die in seconds – no go there, either.So let’s look at equipment:Holding handsWand WearingMagic robes Neck wearDemon bells Hand wearDragon Bracelet (left) Dragon Bracelet (right) Purple Lo Neck Ring (Left) Purple Loe Ring (right) Waist wrapped aroundIron belt.Let’s take a look at the wand:Wand durable12.1--25 普通 grade26 Wear Have professional restrictions  additionPhysical attack4-12Magic attack2-4.So the wand gives me 2-4 magic attack.  Most of my other equipment gives me low end magic attack, too.  I saw a wand, exactly like mine, on the market that gives like triple the magic attack:单价100gold ID7207 2017- 5- 4 Wand durable24.4--25 卓越 grade26 Wear Have professional restrictions  additionPhysical attack4-12Magic attack11-13First of all….what?  How can I do this to my equipment?  I’m sorry, but having this low magic attack, for a mage, doing around 70 damage on average with laser eyes to things that would take at least 4 hits to kill is ridiculous.What am I missing, here?  What is the secret to getting a mage good enough to hang around the people at my level?  Because, to me, at the moment, things look extremely unbalanced, extremely stupid for a mage, and extremely not worth playing.  I’ve got a hunter that at half the mage’s level does almost as much damage.  I’ve got a summoner that at half his level can kill harder things than the mage, and I’ve seen a warrior half the mage’s level kill harder things.Either I’m missing something, or mage is extremely fucked.Any advice?

@Arq, druid is my first class and mage my second. Druid I like for the minians, the fact that equipment balancing is fairly easy, and the fact that there are so many fun things to do. I also like the way that druid actually is a class that is built for exploring slowly. One reason I don't enjoy grouping is I hate being dragged around with no time to review corpses or do other things.With Druid I can take time to read room descriptions, look at slane enemies, gather herbs and brew, even do some leather crafting these days, and all of that time my recover and my mana regenerates, that is one reason I like druid so much for solo exploring and questing. One thing I do wonder, is what difference ranged weapons will make to the game particularly for thieves and mages, since if you can slay something a room away while staying hidden, less than stellar physical abilities will matter slightly less, and thieves get all the  fun shadowy stuff to play with.

One suggestion I had was to make all the options available in the rewards room available even if you don't have enough gems to get it. I.E. To unlock custom options, you could see the options and how many gems it costs, so you can shoot to grab that when you have enough gems. Right now, you can only see what you can get, so you don't know everything that's available.Just a thought.

Hello everyone,I was the one who found the game and suggested about the posting of it in audiogames.net.Well, on Android, Talkback is Reading the options perfectly and, in the PC version with Internet Explorer, Jaws reads it quite well too. [[wow]]. The last time I played this online, the game was reset once a week. I suppose that has changed.For Aprone, if you still check this topic. I have created a few ideas that could make this game a bit more fun. Generally, I thought of adding some more higher goal to this. The main though, would be separating this game to some worlds, and then generating a whole map in one, where a player would be able to oversee it, possibly pick one square of 10 by 10 tiles where to start and then settle a new plot of land whereever they choose to. I can not explain all what came to my mind at the moment, though if you or anyone else would be interested, I could share it. I hope this game is going to have some more progress.

Hi.This is cool so far, I like how you integrated the game with the platform (the audio logs, videos, etc.) Is there a way to see where star systems are in relation to each other? All I can get is an ETA for each one and not where they actually are. Also the chart for the faction controlled systems is just a picture; it would be nice if a text version could be made also. I have no problem with the option buttons on Firefox.

Well for the indicator's sound it is common to both difficulty levels and you now have a sound as to the direction you should take is up, left or right, and each got its own sound. About math games the only thing that was changed is that you start directly from a high level of speed and you continue without any breaks between each 3 math problems. This is not a big deal as I managed yesterday to score 160 in the subtraction game at HC. Here are some other differences:Salt unloading: There are 2 camels instead of 1.Crush the moles: moles are a bit faster.Waterworks: waves move extremely fast.Mortal swamp: the quick mud is vertically larger.The snake to charm, the snake is a rocket rather than being a snake, you whistle for no one, plus a 2 by 2 solid squares I think.Simon: The sounds are faster.Labyrinth: some more obstacles across your way.The queen's treasures: The guards are faster, and they often spawn other ants so fast

Just get the DLL. It is, among other things, part of Windows XP--if you have that, copy it from \windows\system32 into the equivalent folder on your architecture and then use regsvr32 to register it. This also works in wine. Can help with this if you're stuck.

I'm using PC to play the game, but I use a controller cause with it playing is a bit easier compared to the mouse.@SLJ, thanks for the tip, I'll surely try this one again. hopefully, if I make it to the part where you stuck and I can make it as well, I'll surely let you know about it. as for choices, for this series it's a bit hard to know when you have to make a choice rather than to guess what buttons to press in that choice. however, sorry to say another game here, it's different for life is strange.in that game, you'll know when you have to make a choice is when someone stops talking, and the best thing is there is no timer for each conversation / events choice so you have the opportunity to think your choice. also, the good thing about choices in the game is when you are prompted with a major decision, you'll here some kind of buzzing sound to let you kn
 ow that choice is a major decision. one more thing about this game which is pretty good is if you accidentaly choose a wrong choice, you can rewind back time and do the right thing.however, the telltale series and life is strange is pretty different, for example, when looking around. if you press your right stick, the character will turn around while the character is looking at things which is a bit complex than this one. also, if you didn't have much patience I don't recommend getting this one, cause in the game there is more walking around than interactive movie scenes.

Well screen reader mode in muds usually means firstly removing ascii, maps and decorations, and secondly making long messages a wee bit shorter. Often it's a case of giving people some tools to play with to shorten things and seeing what works, though having never played a game with the type of combat that flexible survival has I can't say for certain. We have a couple of players who are familiar with the mud,  who might be able to come up with suggestions for possible filters other output changes since generally accessibility is more a matter of looking at something and seeing what needs a bit of modifying than making hard and fast rules, especially with a game that functions in such a unique way. Unfortunately I won't be able to try the mud completely myself until next Thursday at the earliest since I'm going to visit my father for his 70th birthday. Btw, on another topic, I was wondering about the single player games, firstly 
 why the "givein" command did not work in the single  flexible survival, and secondly if there was any news about Flexible societies,  indeed that looked a great idea for a game (accept I didn't seem to be able to assign any researchers without first researching researchers).

eHi Dms silver and welcome to the forum. Good to know about the perks, I'll add details of them to the Flexible survival database entry. I was also wondering whether the mud had a way of reducing the amount of combat text, since as  Arnold 18 said, lots of text in a real time situation can make life difficult with a screen reader.I probably ought to give the mud a complete go myself, particularly since while I'm not the biggest rp fan,  I'm not against it but it's not my primary interest, but some of the missions, quests, jobs, crafting  and massive customization in the game look really awesome in rpg terms. I also wonder in terms of the single player game what has happened to the "givein" command since I would rather have liked to see more the mutation endings.

What happened to the audiogame console?

I vaguely remember something about an audiogame console.Did anything ever come of it and/or what's the latest on it? The one I'm referrirng to was discussed here before or aroujnd the time I registered and I remembered it while discussing games consoles just now, so I figured I'd ask and see what responses I get. It can't be worse than the Ouya can it...? (Sarcasm...the Ouya sucks. Also it can't be worse than the Wii and Wii U)So, anyone remember what I'm on about? I'm curious if it's actually a thing and not just an idea or a prototype, I vaguely remember something about orders but I can't remember if they were actually a thing or if it was just mentioned offhand.

Well I had my viva today, which was not fun in the least, though actually was half as long as my last one and not quite as arsy, and it is sort of interesting to suddenly get questions like "well since you've talked about disability in terms of frustrated desire and freedom,so isn't a paedophile disabled?" thrown at you? On the plus side they didn't fail the thesis out right or award me a second masters or ask me to rewrite the hole thing. On the down side they have asked me  read about another 20 more recently published articles, and add an extra section discussing them of another 10 k words.  tually if you wanted to expand that a wee bit you could likely make it into an article and post in the articles room. @Arqmeister, I'm finding soloing in alter quite possible with my druid mage, indeed far more so than when I tried a cleric warrior, were it not possible to solo in the game, I likely wouldn't bother with it as grouping isn't an interest of mine. I actually have! had bosses go down rather quickly, indeed last Christmas with the event with the demons of spite, greed, anger etc, I was quite surprised how easily the respective demons went down when I sent a few fists of earth their way.I generally find that so long as I prepare, take care my minians, (including leaving time for them to rest), use salves and tinctures when I can, make sure to preserve my mana and use survey command to get an idea where is safe to rest  I am usually quite okay.actually that is one I'll say is a major plus in alter. In so many other games c
 ombat is basically minimax, fire and forget. In alter it takes management, however not so much micro management it becomes insane. Eg, with equipment I basically can just go on what gives the most druid level or mana regen and forget everything else, while in combat remembering to put up mage shields or spells like still air can really help, quite aside from elemental damage when I think it counts. Hmm, maybe I should get back to alter, especially with the new crafting, I keep trying other combat muds but always coming back. Well with my viva done that is at least a relief, though where my gaming wims will take me I don't know. Recently Iv'e found myself at a miner gaming loose end, or rather I keep trying things but not getting into things deeply, which is probably a miner shame, maybe I just need to sit down and plug away, though unfortunately I'll be heading back to Nottingham for my dad's 70th birthday tomorrow and since I've not sorted a wi
 ndows 10 laptop out yet my gaming options will be a wee bit limited methinks.

@Text space, welcome to the website. I do like the look of the game it rather reminds me of trade wars, (my character is imaginatively called dark). I did have to get used to using the web messenger and looking for the buttons with the options, but I will admit I'm not the biggest fan of facebook, indeed I only created an account to test it out ages ago and had actually forgotten my password .the game looks nice so far, especially for someone like me who enjoys exploring, I'm not sure about pvp but we'll see. When you quote a message you leave all the text from the person your quoting which can make reading your replies a little long winded, considering that most people here use screen readers so have to listen to the hole message when reading it. Indeed I'd recommend only using the quote function when you actually need to quote a few words from someone and respond accordingly.@Darren, I tried the game with nvda and internet explorer on windows 10, plus I gave supernova a go as well. The controls in the game show up as buttons towards the bottom of the screen, however I found I had to send a couple of messages to the program sometimes to get the buttons to show up, especially when beginning the game (I just typed hello a few times), this also seems to happen when returning to the game after an absense. I believe the buttons are graphical with alt text,  both screen readers I tried I could go b
 etween them using the b key. the only miner issue I got is sometimes not being able to find the output text,  most things go on near the bottom of the page. the best method I found was to go down to the  bottom and hit shift b to get back to the buttons and read from there. Since the buttons appear as controls within the space of the conversation, I suspect the best way to play on ios would be to load the page directly in safari. hth. I'll likely be able to say more when I've looked into this game a bit further though I need to give things a break for now,  heck I don't believe it, I swore I'd never use facebook, and now I'm proved dead wrong .

Hi.The thing is with the Airpods alternatives, they are in the same price range or above, and when they are cheaper, like the Samsung wireless headphones, you get around 1.5 hours of batterie life which was the criteria to knock it out of the ompetition for me.If you look at models like the dash from braggi, they are more expensive and have missing features.With the AirPods, you have good and comfortable headphones from a renound developer which actually fit your ears, have a good sound and can be paired easiely to an iOS or Mac, also android and windows work.Greetings Moritz.

Honestly though, I think xp should differ with kills... instead of everything given just one xp point to the sword. Takes so long to leve it up higher... even the bread crusher minigame only gives one, sometimes two levels maximum. But this will definitely be an amazing weapon once I get it up higher! Only at level 24 right now...

I see a lot of people who want to try out the multiplayer but are afraid of the extreme content it can provide. You can turn off the automated givings of this with merits right out of the gate. Take 'Self Control' and 'Graceful in Defeat' and you will NEVER see a post-combat message. Enjoy your suddenly far less extreme game.

Hmm, I don't know about the soundpack, I never heard there was one for diskworld. if you ever find some actual activities or dare I say it quest sand a way to go and do them let me know. I love exploring, especially in richly described environments, but when that is literally all! there is to do in a game without any activity start, goal to find or hell even just ability to do more besides wander, scavenge and fight random wildlife I find the game grows rather frustrating after a while since I just feel like I@m not part of the game or impacting on the world.

At Nocturnus, thanks for the tips. Honestly, while the advice is helpful, i'm even more discouraged because your post speaks to a feeling that i have had for a long time about alter aeon, which is, the game takes a lot of grinding to get good, and i really think it does not bode well for solo players. I'm thinking of rooms with instakill mobs, mobs with ridiculous defense or health, obscure quests, monna regen being a pain in the ass, and having to worry about cast level, or, oh crap, i'm not strong enough to Cary around all this cool equipment i found. My point is, i'm so worryed about staying alive and my characters stats, i can't enjoy the fantasy asspects for very long, hence my on again, off again relationship with the game. Plus, i never felt that the game allowed you to get powerful, and enjoy it, and while i understand that it's so you can feel challenged no matter what level you are at, i just want to have the taste of victory, which manages 
 to escape me every time i come back. Can i cast ball lightening and destroy a boss, or maybe web of fire can simply wipe out a room of mobs, just once, please.
