Since the year of 2000, or maybe more, Japan have always been lots of years ahead of the rest of the world regarding to technoligy. I would give so much to visit Japan to check all out this... Back in 2002, I heard they were using their smartphones for internet and had data apps, just like we all know today. They even payed using their phones at this time... Sorry to go that much off-topic. This is just some examples on why I agree that it must have something to do with the culture.

How to unmount a iso and boot from drive in vmware?

I got the system installed on the vmdk but when I reboot nothing comes up. So how do I boot of the virtual drive rather than the iso image. I noticed that when I go into settings and highlight the cdrom there is a remove button when I press it the cdrom is removed out of the list. Is this the correct way or is there another way.

Not sure if this is right, i open vmware player and go to the creation wizard, i choose installer disc, iso, then i find the kali 64 iso and then use ubuntu64 bit as the operating system, i manage to get into the speaking installation, but for soome reason at random points the speech just stops, what can i do about this?

at 2: Class overuse is a problem these days (or at least, a couple years ago), probably born from so many students being trained in Java, where it's classes all the way down.Also, that the ability to figure out the rest of a mechanic based on some cryptic text clues seems impossible says more about you than about the method. If you can get function names, but not signatures, the solution is simple: use the function, and read the compilation error's list of functions with the same name. And since namespaces are an Angelscript feature, knowing that BGT implements them is sufficient.This doesn't work in lower-level software. I remember a thread on Sonic Retro where someone opened Streets of Rage and found some round titles or something to do with the soundtrack or some such, and it turned into an argument over whether or not this qualified as a discovery.Also, ROM Hacking is a thing. The presence or absence of degrees is marginally relevant—David Greenwood never did reveal how he so thoroughly incorporated the Sega Genesis' sound system into GDS, and hackers spent the next decade or more begging for an explanation, to which his only response was something like "figure it out" or "the hard way" ... I didn't memorize the wording  .

What I found today piques my curiosity, since I've had to restructure my code so that things are much more vector oriented.  I'm wondering exactly how to use the get_xyz, and the void set_xyz functions.  Also, some of those &in things remind me of reference pointers, so I'm going to research that, since I tried using handles with my vectors, and the compiler tells me that I can't.  Point is, though, I might have found added functionality that is not documented in the manual.  On that note, it displeases me that if there's functionality that can be used, Phillip didn't let us know.  I hate when documentation is incomplete.  Especially at a time like this, when I need to know everything I can.  On that note, any devs in here familiar with vectors, please go check my latest post in the dev room.  Topic is "DT in BGT."  @CAE_Jones and I have been having a running dialogue there, and he's been
  very helpful, and I appreciate it more than I can say.  As I stated in another post, I'm positive I'll have more questions in the future.  Right now I'm at a point where I don't want to go any further until I know that what I have done so far is orrect, or at least semi-correct, and until I correct the mistakes.All of that being said, in sort of the same vein with respect to development, CAE is the only one who has provided any feedback to me, and I miust admit that is sort of surprising to me.  I would have thought that I'd have gotten advice from more than one person, given the nature of this community.  It's my opinion, for what it is worth, that we should all support one another as much as possible in our development projects, since each time we finish one, the whole community benefits.  Even small projects are important, sine if those are finished and go well, it could lead to even bigger, more advanced ones.  P

The simple fact of it is, to put it in a bit more perspective and to add onto what Aaron said, is that Japanese culture traditionally values patience, perfection, and attention to detail. the martial arts example is a good one, and as someone who also practices one of the more traditional arts from a Japanese teacher, I can echo it. And this desire to take longer to get a better result bleeds into every part of Japanese life, not just in the martial arts. Tests, business proposals and projects, even the preparation for Tokyo 2020... they take longer, if that means they have time to refine the craft, add more to it, and polish things out. That, at the basic level, is why Japanese games in general are so impactful on either mainstream or audiogaming industry. All the original inspirations for the modern western names came from Japan, especially in the fighting and rpg genres. Japanese culture says that something which takes ten years to be done well is better than something similar 
 which is less reliable, has less value, and is done in half the time. That, especially in the audiogame industry, is the issue. But having said that, some of my favourite memories of audiogames were with western made ones, so I'm not discounting them at any rate... but the Japanese games are, as others have already said, in a class all their own. and they even cost less, which is what truly amazes me! A space invaders clone costs $35 while a full fledged early ps2 era action rpg is free and has twice the length in playing time and content? Staggering.

Hi,A bit of an update here. I'm playing the game in chrome, and for some reason, the only tab that really, really lags is the "bonus" tab, all other tabs are fine. @21 yep, that's exactly what I'm saying. I can't remember what I tried this with, accept it was a game a long time ago (we're talking years back here) I opened a binary in notepad and was really surprised when I found some stuff in there I would have never thought to have find, I think it was something about ammoe. Did it change my thoughts on the game or make me want to do anything? No, I wasn't brave enough to go that far. But it made me think [[wow]], how is something like this even possible? It does not work for many files. I ended up closing it and forgetting about it, to be honest, and I don't even rememebr if it was ammoe or what it was that I even found. hm, that's an interesting question and one that I'm kind of struggling to answer. I have a sort of idea why but I'm just worried I'm going to get the point across in the wrong way, so I'm going to say this now. I respect all the work that developers do, please keep this in mind as you read, but I don't know exactly how to put this, I'm seriously struggling.I do martial arts, and one of the things I have learned about is that the Japanese and chinese work very, very hard. A martial artist in China or Japan will spend a year working on a single technique, sometimes entire lessons' worth, or will have a training routine of sorts. I think some of this hard work mentality has entered the game development scene out there as well. It's really hard to explain what I mean by hard work, because a lot of US games are really good and those devs have worked hard on them as well. But there's something about the Japanese games that just sho
 ws a passionate dev at work with their craft, really wanting to create something filled with quality. They seem to approach the whole design of a game differently, and the length of the bk games and shadow rine is like nothing we've seen in the audiogame community before, and I still don't get how such a game could be possible, how huge they are, the scope of it all. Also, look at this trailer here. There's absolutely no narration and it could be really confusing at points, we don't exactly know what we're getting into. I feel like it's designed for the fans, not for new people looking to try the game yet. I believe that will come later. To me, this shows respect, because they are focusing on the community here. They know people have tried their games and are catering to them for the minute, getting we, the fans, to be the ones to hype it up for now.

I can't wait for this one.  I've been hoping that GL would come out with another one, since BK3 and SR were both extraordinarily awesome.  That brings up something I'd be interested to discuss.  It absolutely blows my mind, and quite frankly, is an anathema to me, that Japanese games are so superior to those in the U.S.  I'm not saying that U.S. devs never create anything worth playing, and I have, and will continue to, support games from U.S. devs.  That being said, I have wondered for a very long time why it is that a Japanese dev can come up with something as awesome as BK3 or SR, but in the majority of cases, the devs in the United States struggle to come up with anything even half that pleasing?  If I am totally honest, every Japanese game I have played has outdone the U.S. ones of the same genres by miles.  Look at BK3, for example.  That game combined elements of at least 3 genres:  action, side-scroller, and 
 RPG.  And it outclassed every game developed in the U.S. that I can think of in those genres.  Does anyone have any thoughts about reasons why that might be?  You cannot seriously tell me that Japanese devs are all just so much more intelligent than American devs.  Thoughts?JLoveJLove

The problem that I had with MCE was that I couldn't get it to recognize when I would say something.  I set it to start automatically with FSX, and changed the appropriate values within the config.ini file to provide accessibility and to set narrator to be used automatically.  Once I loaded my flight plan, and I was sitting on the runway, nothing I said produced any feedback from MCE or FSX.  I could tell that MCE was running, because the ATC voices were different, not the ones that are seen in MS ATC, and there was also traffic chatter, something I never saw with MS ATC.  So I can't figure out why I couldn't get it to work.  My speech recognition was not the problem, since I was able to use it to give commands to my PC, and I also have IYP, and I tested speech recog there, and IYP was able to understand me just fine.  And now I cannot try to even figure it out, since apparently my demo of MCE ran out of its number of runs, which also te
 lls me that it must have been running each time I ran FSX, so I am at a loss as to why I couldn't get it to respond to a single thing.  The dev of MCE says that there's a version that is free that will work with the Airbus 320/321, but apparently that aircraft isn't part of the deefault aircraft package of FSX SE, and is not fre.  I am not willing to buy a license for MCE until I can get it to actually work, and I am able to really test it.  It's really a shame, since I enjoy flying, and I would enjoy the challenge of learning to do everything correctly through MCE.  I agree, in that respect IYP does baby us.  As for IYP, from what I understand it is not being sold anymore, and Robert has discontinued development or support for it.  That's also a shame.  If anyone knows how to get MCE to actually work correctly once you have a flight plan loaded and you're at a runway, please let me know.  I would be willing to pe

Addendum:  While on offense, holding down the right trigger key will make the current player with the ball run faster.  Doing this and shooting as you get close to the basket will cause the player to dunk the ball.Pressing left or right on the D-pad will bring up the play select menu, and pressing the left stick in the up, down, left, or right direction will select a type of play.  I hav e not memorized these, however.That also applies to defense.  On defense, holding the right stick toward the opposing team will make the defender aggressively guard the player, so I always hit A to switch to the defender closest to the ball when doing this.  Holding the right stick up will cause the defender to attempt to block a shot.  Again, I hope that this helps.JLove

I currently have NBA 2k16 for the PC.  I initially set things up with a sighted friend.  The only frustrating thing I hate is not being able to make trades or adjust my roster.  It's too bad there's not a way to do it manually by editing a file.  I tried to see if I could through the roster manifest, but no.  That being said, I play in game just fine.  I have a Microsoft controller that works with XBox, but is also compatible with PC.  To pass to a specific person, do the following:Press the Y button, then the button of the corresponding player to whom you wish to pass.  For example, I'm currently playing as Golden State with a current season record that contains just one loss.  I've got a slightly modified roster, but I'll give you the corresponding players to whom I pass the ball:Y followed by the B key, will pass to Curry, so point guard.  Y followed by the A button will pass to the shooting 
 guard, Clay Thompson.  So the splash brothers take the two bottom keys of the diamond.  Y followed by the right trigger key will pass to Anthony Davis in my case, normally Dreimond Green.  Y followed by X will pass to Kevin Durant in my case, Normally Harrison Barnes, or Andre, if substituted.  Lastly, for me, the Y key followed by the left trigger key will pass the ball inside to Kevin Love.  I hope that helps.

In order to set up accessible mode, go to config.ini and change access=0 to access=1 and it should be accessible. you can also turn on graphics if you want by setting access_force_graphics=1I plan on getting an application later for the settings but I keep pushing it to the side to try to put new content into the game.By the way, Mojsior, I've fixed the issue, somehow focus text wasn't reading on menus when you went left. lol. It will be in the next release though since I've been adding a ton of new code. You can place items on the overworld now and decorate areas.

hello,about p3d:i use nvda to access it, i have version2, which is fully supportedwhen you start it, press tab until you focus on the change button then press space and then select your aircraft from the data grid, then press enter on your aircraftthen press shift+tab until you focus on flight planner amt press enter, then create a flight plan (write icao code of the airports, because it cant read list to select it then select your runway and gate, then press enter and select your destination then flight type like ifr or vfr, then select the way of navigating like gps navigation or vor2vor and with screen review, move up with insert+numpad8 then go right, if you found ok, press insert+numpad slash and then choose yes, otherwise if you didnt here ok, move up again with insert+8 then navigate againi didnt tried x-plane, so i cant say anything about itif you have any questions, askalso, guys you can use this

Although I don't normally use NVDA and Am not familiar with it I will try Your suggestion.I would like to use a copy of Prepar3d I have but I can't pass the first screen because no Screen Reader seems to read it although I guess there are Blind People using it...I want to see which Program is the best and will also try X-Plane to see which one I will end-up buying.FSX seems to be more accessible but Prepar3d and X-Plane seem to be more realistic.Another question I have is FSX Steam edition can only be played Online or when I buy it I get a copy of it?

@18, I never said that discovering this feature was quite literally impossible. I said that the method NicklasMCHD used to discover it was very difficult -- if not impossible -- to believe. (In post eight he admits that he opened the executable in Notepad and discovered that way. Post 7 suggested that that was what he did.) If had specified how he had discovered this feature (i.e. trial and error, reading the angelscript documentation, etc.) then I wouldn't have been so disbelieving.

I think that Audio Described Content (aka Described Movie Programming or DVS or whatever else they're calling it) gain the rights to do that by purchasing a license or a copyright grant. The distribution of such content to other media outlets who do not own the copyright rights to distribution is a totally different matter though.

Hi,Netflicks is generally fully accessible on both IOS and Android, with androids player perhaps a bit of a pain or it could be just me being new to android and hense missing something,on IOS as you'd expect, its 100% completely accessible with no issues at all.the pc that is through the browser, haven't tried the windows app yet, it works fine, but somethings could be better. just slight miner things though, such as adding shows to your list.Besides that, it works well.Superhero shows never really interested me much anyway, tried a bit of luke cage, watched it til the end of season 1,but couldn't stand it after that,so that's one I have given up on, hense haven't tried out the defender series at all.Grryf

Duolingo exists for spanish as well, especially for touristy stuff I think it should be a good start and it has audio clips, so you can hear the correct pronunciation. I don't remember if the audio clips are TTS or not.

You have to use screen review to read the izward screen with NVDA.And it's been a few months. I don't think IYP will become open source now. Emails to Robert have gone unanswered. And, even before that message was put up, Robert only maintained IYP and did not add new features ever since 2014, I suspect when his health problems started..MCE is making slow progress, and their specialty is the complex aircraft made by PMDG, Quality Wings, etc. The issue with those is the FMC.

@Orko I can definitely understand why you might seem confused or yawning here, I hope I may be able to help a little though. I think this is more of a teaser than a trailer, as there's no narration or anything. In fact, this isn't even a full on trailer because there's no game title, it's more of an idea of what the concept of the game could sound like, and seems to be using placeholder sounds from existing games that the developer has made previously. Keep in mind the reason this is so fast paced and there's so much going on (and yes there's a lot to try to take in here) is because it's just that, a concept trailer designed to get a bit of speculation going. In a mainstream teaser some of them don't have speaking, or if they do it's a very small amount, until a real trailer comes out. In the case of Shadow Rine this didn't happen for a while. It was a lot better for it because that game had so much style and a lot of narration and
  a way to get started properly. Bokurano Daiboukennw 3 was also interesting because the trailer was released two days before the actual game, and that one basically had a lot of sound design in that trailer. Once the game hit, things made much more sense. They take a very different approach to game development, it seems. It took me a while to get into stuff but once I got into it, well I've been waiting for another Japanese game for a while and this has just gotten me all excited over again even though I don't have a proper idea of what's going on, and I think it's the same for most of us here, because a lot of us don't know the exact nature of what's happening, so we're just speculating based on what we've played previously from this developer.

In the game for sighted persons is no light in rooms of dark house, you have only flashlight, which can show you one point on the wall, floor etc. I played it as sighted too, it is a small cyrcle of light in darkness, where you can recognize small area with your eyes. And here is question: can this be called radar?I thought similar system for my Audioslenderman game, where is hovever no light, but sound point playing in space, where normally light should to come back from. That is the last thing necessary for survival mode to work survivally, so when it will be done, I can record a small recording of me, trying to cut some trees in forest and grab wood from them, build a house on place, which is not that easy to find as it can look, craft some basic items needed to survive like the crafting table or sword and trying to catch some meet from animals to defeat my hunger. And this folks, is why you don't try to do anything productive on a phone Nah, but seriously, using NVDA and Firefox or Chrome Duolingo actually works quite well. Not everybody reads but it can be used as a very useful tool. If you want more after that, Memrise works in a similar way to some of the Duolingo exercises but they teach you mainly words, and sometimes grammar concepts based on examples you memorize. If you want better explanations of certain concepts You would need extra resources, For Japanese I really, really like Tae Kim's guide to Japanese.

Aprone,One more bug report I'm afraid  I've worked around it, its not really a showstopper but you might want to know about it. When you call ffmpeg, it seems you're either not escaping certain characters properly or having trouble with spaces, since I am getting ffmpeg errors when I try to convert filesa s they are. If I change the filename to a one-word string without any special characters, it works fine though. An example of a filename it trips on is:Yu-Gi-Oh! GX (Subtitled) Episode 4 – Five-Part Fusion! VWXYZ-684075.mp4I'm guessing it's either tripping on the exclamation mark or the spaces, but I can't see the command you send to ffmpeg to confirm.As for merging two audioclips, ffmpeg can do that, i.e. ffmpeg -i input1.mp3 -i input2.mp3 -filter_complex amerge -ac 2 -c:a libmp3lame -q:a 4 output.mp3Thing is, the files need to be of equal length for that to work otherwise the subs would be way off
