@SirBadger - I've added a new config called "SirBadger_USFIVAE_Numerical_Menu_Test" to the SoniFightConfigs repo. As the title suggests, it uses a different series of watches to try to numerically identify which menu screen we're on and provide some relevant sonification for the menus.I've only added the main and arcade menu screens at present, have a go and see if it works for you when you have time.@BlindJedi + blindndangerous - Yeah, dark souls would be a real stretch. The problem with the pointer chain technique is that it's a massive pain in the neck, even for simple things like menus, because we don't know the game's data structures. This doesn't mean we can't know them, it just means that it's difficult. I'm a lot more hopeful for simpler games, or at least games with relatively simple structures or only a small number of things to track.For example, the Day of the Tentacle config I've been working on has only 6 watches and about 30 triggers - and I reckon that it's not far off being able to let you play the entire game. You'd have to sweep the mouse over the screen some to get an idea of the objects in the scene, but you can interact with each and it'll tell you what actions you can peform. So if this or something like it turns out be viable for point and click adventures, and as point and click adventures all tend to more or less work the same way,  then it could mean that it's not too tricky to make pretty much any game in the genre playable.If you're interested, there's a few minutes of demo footage of DoTT available here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6p62y1-BLtQ. In the game, when you move the mouse over an object it says the name, you can left-click on the object to perform the default action, or right click on it to bring up a circular series of icons based on the actions you can perform with that item. When it says stuff like "Open something, Pull something, push something" I'm just sweeping the mouse around the available options - once you know where each icon is one 'wheel' then you could go directly to the one you wanted without having to hear multiple options.

There's 1 other thing I forgot to mention about my experience as well. When I was at the summer camp, they had rules that you cannot let anyone touch your stuff no matter what. I was showing my friend QWS, and he asked me if he could try it. Of course, I said yes. A few minutes later when he left and I was in my room browsing the internet, a teacher came in. She asked me if I had been letting other kids touch my computer. When I told her I did, she brought up the rules to me again, to which I replied that it was my computer and I could do whatever I wished with it. She still would not back down.@Post63 perhaps we should discuss this on Friday?I have a theory. I think the reason why these schools are so restrictive is because they want to separate blind people from sighted people in an effort to rule them out. Think of that what you will.

Well with us coming into the latter part of  and 2017 winding down, we're coming up not only on that winter season in which everybody fears the claws of Santa, but also 2018. We have two announcements about the upcoming year which are likely to make 2018 a pretty awesome one for audiogames, and that is not counting the already mentioned Release date of Hero's call First off German developer Everbyte has announced an amazing sounding audio adventure game, tentatively titled sound of magic. A first person adventure in which you play an amnesiac evil wizard, the game will feature voice acting, audio cut scenes and a full on interactable world as well as a detailed system of magic and spells.Read more in this topic, and if your a German speaker feel free to sign up for the beta (an English translation is planned though the beta testing, particularly surrounding accessibility will occur in German). Then Liam Urven of Lworks, famous in audiogame circles for games such as Superliam, Judgement day and most recently the hilarious Blinded guide, has announced an upcoming title for 2018, Brain station. This will be a collection of 12 maths and logic games based on brain training, odd audio concepts an the usual selection of surreal Liam humour, though complete with a system of arcade coins and achievements for all of us collection junkies out there. yes, this morning's newsily update  is officially a waste of space, which makes me wonder why I'm actually bothering to write it. Okay I won't! There news is over, it was only a waste of space anyway, so don't worry about it. Hmmm, me declaring that the news is a waste of space and then actually not delivering it does have the rather inconvenient side effect of wasting everyone's time, which is not a good thing. Hmmm, okay, if you've already read this far, go back in time to  point you havent' read the news and don't read it, that way it is neither a waste of space, nor a waste of time. But it is a paradox. Wooopse! Okay, everyone is just going to have to accept it, space and time shal be wasted here! First off bending the space time continuum is a game by a new developer, or at least a games developer who hasn't worked in English before. brian.kurosawa has  teaser for his new, and extremely scary first person horror adventure game darkned chain. I'm glad I only attended the Texas School for the Blind very infrequently. Some of these experiences are horrifying!I went through mainstream school and the experience was great! I had plenty of support in terms of Braille and other assistive technology and generally think I received the same crappy education as everyone else.The few times I went to TSBVI were mildly unpleasant. My main issue revolved around constant socialization and visual activities. I'll never forget the time we went to this video game arcade place called Gattitown. I wanted to ride on the bumper cars and they wouldn't let me. They claimed I could hit my head on something and damage the chances of recovering vision in the future. I'm not low vision, I'm utterly blind and don't expect to gain my sight for the rest of my life.Public education was the best thing that happened to me. It exposed me to the "real world". I interacted with sighted people all the time. The only thing I regret was not making too many friends. My main focus was getting the work done so I could leave. I hated school! My confidence wasn't as high as it is now and I found I stuttered much more frequently than I do now. Then again, I've found that I don't need a lot of friends to be happy. Even if I only have one or two "true friends", I'm still happy. This probably ties into my introverted personality which is for another topic. I was never bullied or made fun of. I have to wonder if it's because of my friendly, easy-going personality? School was easy for the most part. I stopped caring after 6th grade or so but forced myself to finish it.I graduated last year with Cum Laude. Being a public school, they constantly force-fed the "go to college go to college go to college!" line down my throat. I have no plans of attending a college. I'm going to receive technical training and either find a job somewhere or start my own computer repair/support business. I don't plan to follow the blind musician stereotype.

NIST's latest password policy, SP 800-63-3, which is specifically for passwords (but technically does apply here), can be summarized as follows:Do not attempt to enforce password policies that are not user friendly -- that is, policies that don't really increase security at all. (i.e. some practices that used to be known as "best practices" are more painful to implement and don't really do much to increase security.)Your password should be a minimum of 8 characters with a possible limit of 64 characters. The excuse of "sorry, that password is too long" is no longer valid. (Increasing this is a good idea though!)All applications should accept any ASCII and Unicode characters, including spaces and emojis.Your password should not be able to be findable in a dictionary. Hey,One thing I find particularly frustrating is that in the castle world, The Princess's Aquarium, there's a sound indicating that there's another path that will open up. It doesn't open when I get less than 20 points though so I'm assuming this is a bonus. The problem is that there are never enough bad snails to pick up and result in 20 points. I think the most I've gotten for that one is 16 points and that's with picking up every single bad snail, sadly. I can't open the bonus path if there aren't enough snails! Other than that, Beta 54 has treated me well so far.

Once I am in the folder, I find the folder i want to add, then press enter on the select folder button.To remove a folder, find it in the program, tabbing a couple of times should land you on a list with your folders inside, once you have found it, press tab one more time and then enter on the remove button.

If it's showing garbage instead of 33-character long snippets of English then that will be the cause and it's likely you somehow have a different version of the SSFIV executable to the one I developed the config for (like perhaps an international version).One alternative solution for the future might be that there exists a watch which tracks the currently selected menu option with the data type double (this is watch 6 - but it's currently marked as inactive (i.e. active checkbox is unchecked) and it isn't used by any triggers). The reason this isn't being used and the 'submenu text' matching is used instead, is that the menu selection number is re-used across multiple menus, and at present I have no way to identify which menu screen the game is on.So for example, there are 11 options on the main menu which go from 0 (Arcade) down to 10 (Quit) - but if we go into the versus menu, then those same values are re-used for different menu options (Player Vs Player, Player Vs CPU, CPU Vs CPU etc). Without a way to identify the specific menu screen we're on this will mean that SoniFight says "Arcade", "Versus" etc again as you move through that screen, even though these are not the actual menu options available. If I can find a pointer chain to a value that identifies what screen we're on then I can add in a dependent trigger which will allow each menu screen to be read out properly based on this numerical watch rather than the presently used string-based matching. And in theory, comparing against numbers will be more universal and have a better chance of working across versions of the game.Will have a shot at it as soon as I have a chance.Cheers.

weird issue with firefox and adblock plus

Hi all,I am not entirely sure when this started happening, but I first noticed it yesterday. The addon adblock plus does seem to be running, however, for some reason, it's options don't seem to be in the tools menu with alt plus t.Usually, if I press alt plus t and then up arrow, I land on the adblock plus submenu. However, Firefox just says options now, yet, flashgot is still in that menu. I am wondering what's happened, because I use this menu to disable the adblock stuff on certain sites. I am wondering, if I switched to something like ublock origin, will that appear in tools so I can still control it? Or, for now at least, how can I possibly fix this adblock plus tingy? could it be a new thing with an adblock plus update?

I can agree with that sentiment. I think schools for the blind encourage people to be lazy in many ways, socially and academically most of all. I also encountered a lot of kids who were much more immature than one would expect for their age group, and I'm not talking about those who actually had intellectual disabilities, although there were plenty of those around too. I honestly don't know what's worse, though. Becoming stagnant in a place where you're not encouraged to grow, or having to fight tooth and nail every single day to be not only included, but treated like a human being. That was my public school experience in a nutshell, and I have to say I have far more lasting bitterness about that than the loss of freedom, autonomy, and possible success I suffered at the school for the blind. Of course, both are quite bad in their own right, and, had I had a better public school experience in the first place, I doubt I'd even be sitting here having this conversation today. Or, at the very least, my perspective would be radically different. it's interesting to think about, that's for sure.

As far as I know, there's no way to be notified when a download starts, unless you change the setting so that it asks you where to save files each time. I can't remember where that is in Chrome's preferences off the top of my head, since I don't use that feature, but I know I saw it there when setting up Chrome initially.As for bookmarkes, it is true that Firefox handles them better, but I'd never go back, not with the way Mozilla is royally screwing things up IMO. I've noticed that there's a really stupid bug with the bookmarks manager where, if you press certain letters in order to jump to your saved bookmarks that begin with that letter, it might jump to a different letter entirely, and somewhere in the middle of the listing as well. For example, when I hit the letter t, it takes me to At's website, which is saved in my bookmarks. Some letters actually do work, notably o and m. It's truly bizarre. So these days I usually try to remember addresses, or use my history to get to sites I frequent. It's frustrating, but it's not enough to make me switch browsers, not when there are so many other things to love about Chrome.

A suggestion for diabolical kings: If you trow someone into a dungeon, maybe it could be possible to watch what the prisoners do. You could even build traps into the dungeons, send monsters in and such and watch what the prisoners do. Will they fight and try to escape or will they be killed brutaly? And if they try to escape, how they will try that and maybe come out of traps and such. Would be interesting I think.

@BlindJedi, how do you know it's encrypted? See, the problem with encryption is that anyone with the public and private keypair can decrypt the stream. Plus, decryption is quite pointless in the first place, and is why NVDA remote is not encrypted. Even if you encrypt the connection, that doesn't stop anyone from gaining access to your computer if the figure out the key. The fact that someone managed to gain access to your computer while you were waiting for someone else to access yours is not NVDA remotes fault, nor was it NVDA's fault. It was strictly your fault because you deliberately used an insecure key. You know the phrase, 'always use secure passwords'? It certainly doesn't go that way, but the same concept applies here. When you set an NVDA key, your setting a password that, if deliberately left simple, is guessable. If you set it to something strong, the likelihood of that ever happening is nil. And if someone still manages to guess your NvDA remote key even after you've set it to strong, that's still not NVDA's fault nor NVDA Remote's fault; someone out there just seriously hates you. If that is the case, then even JAWS Tandem won't protect you.

When I said klunki, I meant that there are times when the enemi just starts to hit you and theres not much you can do to escape. This has happenedto me a few times. It gets to a point where you can't do much but stand there and take the hits. Autough I do believe better sounds would help me withmost of the problems. All in all, the game is really good, so much so I've been playing it for the last 3 days.

I find it interesting that you say it seems clunky. When I think clunky, I think of DBZ: Sagas, or DB Final Bout. One of the most difficult issues in development was reducing lag; I don't know if you're running into that, or if you mean it differently from what I'm thinking.This fighting system can't do dial-a-combo. Timing is more or less the entire point. If the game's speed is unstable enough that it interferes with this aspect, that is a problem I very much want to solve.I'm hoping that the problem you're having with knowing when you've been hit can be corrected with better and more complete voices. If that is a major part of the problem, we'd expect it to be more noticeable with Zu, Asaki, and Mozuda, from best to worst (Mozuda doesn't have any hitcries at all  ).

after entering the password, you have to go back to the kitchen where you grab the key at the sink. in this room you have to find a cupboard and interact with it.once done, go back to the room with a locked door and use the kkey from the cupboard to open the door.now, you are in a room with a music box in it. examine the board, go to the door, and now you have to let your character dies by that moving thing.

I have just finnished watching Star Trek TNG for the 7th time, yes I am counting. Currently I am watching season 3 of DS9 on netflics. I have also resantly started watching a Canadian series called Heartland.Its basicaly about a girl who rehabillitates horses. That's all I can say without a spoiler alert. Now, back to Star Trek: I love The Next Generation and DS9. Enterprise was also alright, however I wouldn't recommend Voyager. It just didn't have the same appeal as the rest of the Star Trek series. And another thing: I wish someone would go ahead and discribe Tng and DS9.Oh and just fyi, Game of Thrones is seriously awesom. I can't wait to see just how it all ends.

Hello there! I'd like to give some feedback..I've been a player of fighting games for more then 10 years now... This game is too.. Slow and clunky, if you get my meaning. Sometimes, its difficultto know if your character is getting hit, objects are difficult to find (as in I have to use the y menu). I'm not trying to just criticize: The game'sgeneral idea is cool and it really has lots of potential. For combos.. Would it be pocible to make them slower: I sometimes type too fast and thesystem doesn't registers it, which can get anoying at times, thats why I don't try to do combos, even tough I've completed the tutorial and amalready on episode 5. Sometimes, I win an episode by pure luck not because I know what I'm doing.

I'm at my parents' house In Nottingham at the moment. This is bad for me since it used to be a stone quarry, and since I'm upstairs in my bedroom, I probably would fall quite a ways downwards onto very rough stones, even if the relative position of the earth was the same . I'd be slightly better off  at our new house in Newark, because the house actually existed in 1800, apparently it used to be a shop, though what kind of shop exactly I'm not certain. Assuming lack of broken limbs, it would probably depend upon whether I could use my singing abilities to actually get ahead. I would have the advantage of knowing what would! be popular a good 40 or 50 years in the future, not to mention knowing a few of what would then have been latest hits, I'd however have the major disadvantage  that the music hall tradition didn't really get started for another 30 years or so, meaning I'd be stuck on where! to actually get a start performing, especially in the comparatively sleepy midlands.If worst came to worst, as a visually impared person without much by way of practical skills other than singing, I would probably end up in the workhouse, which would be pretty grim indeed.

Yeah I definitely don't mean it to be harsh, but this way I can be more fair, too. I get excited too, which means I tend to geek out and give long detailed answers to everything...but then course there are other questions I'm not willing to answer. Living in Poland in 1800 would suck... For starters, Poland didn't even exist in 1800 after literarly getting torn into 3 pieces occupied by Prussia, Austria and Russia respectively in prior years. So, I would predict that someone would take the internet enabled phone I arrived with, and eventually figure it out. This would lead to them being able to predict the future and all of the uprisings that were coming up. If they convinced the higher ups that this is indeed true, those uprisings would probably get prevented leading to Russia becoming a superpower with less conflict then it actually took. That is unless the situation didn't result in tearing of the spacetime continuum first.

The hotkey is alt plus grave, the key that is to the left of one on the number row.For some reason it doesn't always work straight away, maybe the page has to finish loading, I dunno.It doesn't work well on all sites, this one it works beautifully.I can read all messages in a forum just by going to the first page, and I can cut down on posts by going to page 2, 3 etc, but it doesn't always cooperate, easier to start from page one.I wish it would work on fanfiction.net.It only filters the page you are on, not the entire story.Applevis is another site it doesn't like.Come to think of it, I don't think firefox's reader view likes that site either.So far I'm liking chrome a lot, especially when I want to cast something to my chromecast.There is a slight delay, but that's to be expected when casting.

Yeah. Speed running has never been a big deal for me. I mean yeah I like to see how quickly I can finish a game sometimes but it's never been a top priority for me. I like to savor a game a bit first.

When you end up being able to beat the game in a super speed, by repeating the whole process again and again, you'll probably get bored of it very quickly. Unlike when the game regenerates some little stuff in another shape, that would surely make being you become bored of it quickly less probable. Yes, many sighted gamers always challenge each other who could beat the game faster (and this is of course awesome), but in my opinion, speed-running an RPG game is a secondary thing as it's not an arcade game, so the main focuss the developer should put on the game is the challenging experience for the player against what does the game offer, not other people. However I don't see that speed-running an RPG game is bad, which I'm excited to watch gameplays of such when I master everything in the game, but that was just my point regarding changing a bit of things on the environment so people could speed-run the game, which I don't agree at all for an RPG.

Hello, I live in Romania, in a town called Buzău. This is in the southeast of the country, in the Muntenia region. Well, it's a small one. The distance between this town and Bucharest, the capital of Romania, is 120 kilometers away, Don't know how to convert it in miles. Anyway, if you will go there with your car, you would reach the destination in aproximately a couple of hours.Now I'm returning back to the description of my town, let's start!The most important building is called White House or County Council, which is on the Nicolae Bălcescu boulevard, somewhere in the central part of the town. This is the headquarters of the Buzău county's prefecture, which is subordinate to the government. Why have I used the "county" word? I'll tell you now. Romania is composed by 41 counties that are composed by Towns, comunes and villages. One of these towns is chose as the capital of the county. In the most cases, the county's capital has the county's name, but it isn't an obligatory situation. For example, the capital of Covasna county is called Saint George, Ploiești for Prahova county, Reșița for Caraș-severin county, Zalău for Sălaj county and so on. In this Case, the capital of Buzău county is Buzău, the town I'm talking about..Other important buildings are the Children Palace, the Episcopal Residence, Carrefour and/or Aurora Mall, Kaufland, XXL, Lidle and Galeria Mall.This tawn has also a high school for blinds and sighted people where I study, a school for deaf-and-dumbs, and a school for crazy people.I hope it's a good description, so enjoy reading it.Cheers,Florian

Hi.I have decided to delete chrome.It's very fast and the Ai talking thing is awesome.Having said that, I've used Firefox for so long that I'm used to the way it works and prefer it.The only reason I tried chrome was because I was unable to delete bookmarks in the way that I wanted to do in Firefox but I've decided to go back and delete the bookmarks using the show all bookmarks option.

Hi saiteja, Hope the exams go well. Well it's been another interesting weekend so I thought I'd stick my noggin back into this topic again. On Friday my parents and I went to a concert by Misatu Cani Mason (who's name I'm horribly miss spealling). The Cani Masons are a family of very accomplished young musicians who have won a lot of awards, indeed the son Shacu won young musician of the year a couple of years ago and Misatu was in the last round. She's now a pianist and her playing is amazing, she did the Chopin Senata containing the musical commonly known as the funeral march, though amusingly it has some pretty and quite gorgeously contrasting bits in the middle and a wonderfully dramatic ending which most people don't here, also an awesome and very dark piece of Prkofiev which rocked! Last night my singing teacher was retiring, so did her final fund rising concert. My lady and I did a couple of duettes, all I ask of you from Phantom and a duette version of Panis Angenlicus which was fun, though I've been having throat trouble recently so I was slightly croaky, though my lady says it wasn't noticeable. In other news, I've been taking a miner break from trying new games for the db and have got into cosmic rage. it's odd I meant to play more of empire mud, but ended up getting sucked into playing Cosmic rage again and have really enjoyed it and levelled up about 40 levels in the space of a couple of days. I particularly like the new combat system and the way  activities are working out. Since I'm a bit dead today i'll probably finish Polgara the sorceress since I need to write a review, then move on. It's been nice to finish but sadly it's not the best book Eddings wrote, still I'll say more in my review. Hope everyone else is having a nice November even if it is amazingly grim and rather cold over here, something my lady is not keen on.
