My experiences so far:I spend hours and hours with a sighted friend of mine getting wxPython to work, placing things, struggling with sizers and grids, fixing accessibility issues, but getting a pretty accessible interface in the end which looks nice to both sighted and VI people.I then decided to go for PyQt5, apart from whatever accessibility issues they might have, how non-cooperative the devs are, their accessibility improved that much that the main gui elements are accessible and the layout controls do the automatic positioning for you. I then threw a little helper application for my sighted girlfriend together in like an hour without any x, y, coordinates, location integers whatsoever, it doesn't just look nice (all the controls are distinguishable, don't overlap and are aligned properly) and my girlfriend is using it since then. Its also fully accessible to us, so I don't have anything to complain here.Although all the points Camlorn has are valid, it all depends on your use case. Why bother with licenses if you just want to use it for some private project? If you want to find them, any project out there has its flaws which could prevent you from using it in your own project, no matter the size or complexity. For me, PyQt5 is my goto GUI library right now, until I hit a brick wall with inaccessible GUI elements, crashes or any other issues show up.Best Regards.Hijacker

Nice guide! Many critical aspects were mentioned. A little nit-pick I'd say is, you should mention that swiping up and down is thanks to VoiceOver's actions rotor item. Swiping up and down on an element that supports the actions rotor item will give you related items that you can activate from there without finding the action in question yourself on the screen. So you will not get actions when swiping if your rotor is not set to actions, though iOS usually automatically sets the rotor depending on if it's a textfield, if it has actions assigned, if it's a link or heading, ETC.

But we can't do that if one side doesn't agree on the opinions of the opposite side. So Mohamed and I have no clue what to do at this point. We don't even know if we should just stick to one side's complaints. Na, its not an application to help with PyQt5, its an application she wanted to use which doesn't have anything to do with development at all. After you've connected? It should already have one of the channels you put in before you hit log on. If not, put one in, again it's just their user name after / after .tv. Once that's filled in, you can send a message, if it says invalid channel, try to find them on twitch and copy/paste it in.

Yeah I don't really talk about this type of thing much, because what does it do. If someone knows you disagree with a choice they've made, there's no reason to keep bringing it up. Also when it's something that personal, it's bound to feel like an attack on them even if it's not meant as such. My views of transitioning really haven't changed, it's a very complex topic and I don't think there is one true answer. One thing I try to make clear if this does come up in conversation is that I don't hate anyone who goes through this process, and I will do my best to treat them the same as I would have before just with new pronouns. Though on that subject, sorry but I will distance myself from anyone who wants me to use weird ass pronouns, like anything outside of she/her, he/him or they/them is like, I really don't see the point.

@flameAlchemist, that's right, i'd really recommend using dystopia if you want to get message notifications, you can go to preferences on old.reddit.com after signing in and find the send message notifications in my browser checkbox and check it and try the little test link, it will say something like it's done! when this feature roles out you can use it, but it is meant to already be working but I don't think it does, reddit can be silly like that sometimes, I'd still try it though just in case.

The mods you subscribe to on Steam do not show up in your mods folder.They are in your Steamaps/workshop/content folder. There should be a numbered subfolder in there (mine is called 646570, it's probably the same for you) and inside that you will find separate numbered folders for each workshop mod.

For what it's worth, a universities goal isn't necessarily to make you job ready - it's to teach you the concepts that will make you job ready in the future. Personally, as a professional software engineer myself - I'd have confidence that if you knew Pascal, and could program well in it, that you would be able to learn C, or Python. If you'd used some of the object stuff in there, I'd suspect you could handle C++ or Java with further training too.Don't get too hung up on the language. If you work in software, you will end up cycling through languages. In the last 5 years, I've professionally worked in C, C++, C#, VB.net, _javascript_, Typescript, Python, Powershell, and BASH - and about 4 flavours of SQL. Pascal is a good language to get the concepts right, but true: you likely won't use it in a professional context. Whenever I think I'm getting used to a language or tool, I find myself needing to work in another. Unless you spend your life embedded programming, you'll probably end up being a little bit the same.

Meh, too many topics get closed, and what does that really do? It just forces it to spring up in another one instead.I actually don't consider post 1 an attack on Tunmi, even though I disagree with the contents of that post. Now, some of Simter's, again, might not be direct attacks, but very possibly border on character assassination since he threw out baseless accusations with no proof. If Tunmi founded a company and was making paid games, that could be damaging to his company, especially in the light of cancel culture. I don't really see that that's come here yet, and I really hope it doesn't, but it it shouldn't be allowed to continue. I'd say that should be addressed on a case by case basis though, and while this topic is pretty much a drama dumpster fire, what exactly would the point of closing it be?You could put a rule in effect that would say no drama on the forum, but enforcing that would be about as effective as trying to catch rain in a barrel with holes in the bottom. So just let it play out.

Once steam had done with all the downloads, I just ran rts.exe from the read the spire folder and mod the spire showed up with the mods listed. I then just tabbed through to "select/deselect all mods", hit enter on that, then hit play and everything worked fine. The only miner problem I have noticed, (and I got this first time), is if I run rts.exe without running steam first, where as other steam games will open steam, RTS gets stuck, nothing happens, but the game cant' be run either. Fortunately, there's a button on the taskbar to close it, and after running steam it runs fine, though I admit this did throw me the first time around.

There are two main ones I've heard of, Muime and shadows of isildur. Muim I did try (there is a topic about it from three years ago), but like diskworld mud there seemed no way to actually find anything to do in the game, no jobs or quests or missions or even npcs that would talk to the player, so much like diskworld I ended up wandering about the place rather aimlessly for a while, logging out and not going back.Find the game's website here.Shadows of isildur is a very rp heavy mud set some time before Lotr. Again, if your a big rp fan it might be good, though I've not tried it,Website is here.Hth.

brad, soul wells are filled by killing enemies, they go through three stages, which are molding, growing and fruiting. when it's all done you can harvest and get rare resources such as jade, used for heallers.

Two Towers also exists, but you lose your gear whenever reboot happens and have to go get it again. They're pretty hush-hush about quest solutions and the game is, at least in my experience, murderously difficult.Then there's Mordor, if it's still up. Basically a slightly more polished hack-and-slash derived from rom/diku. Can be fun for a bit (you level up as warrior, thief, cleric, mage and ranger, in whichever order you choose) but ultimately gets ridiculously grindy at higher levels, and quests are largely of the automatic variety. I had a few days of fun with this one years ago, but it just never quite got there, IMO. They tried to make a missions system, or something similar, and they did a good job in the newbie area of Carchost (a tower full of baddies, opposite Narchost, at the entrance to Mordor itself) but then after that it's just a mostly forgotten mess.

The arena fighter part isn't a problem... it's the fact that to progress the story past the point where you can actually do things requires you to wander around a lobby type thing with no guides, no way to quick travel, and no idea where to go. The actual fighting game though is perfectly playable if you can somehow get past it. But otherwise, if you want a crossover fighter like that, get J stars instead.

I prefer separate accessibility volume. Makes it far easier to have some music playing at low volume in background and use talkback at normal volume. I know that CSR also has a way to use separate volume than media volume.

YEah, I don't know why you'd want that. Having separate media volume makes it so you can play your media at whatever volume you'd like without having to worry about audioducking. Would be a step backward to remove it in my opinion.

Hi all. so i've been wanting to try out a side scroller type of game where there enemies and you have to kill them. i don't want to release this, i am just experimenting with this kind of things. so i am running into a little problem. I am using the facing of the player class to indicate wether the bullet should move right or left. Hello. I have recently wrote a small media player which i already got help from this forum here before. I can also execute it just fine but when i want to compile and then execute the compiled exe, it saisNo module named 'pkg_resources.py2_warn'What does this error mean? I already googled and i found you should reinstall setuptools, but that didn't help either. And as i said i can run it just fine only compilation bugs.

The reason is that it's annoying and awkward to go change 2 separate volumes if you want them levelFor example I was using audex the other day and I couldn't get comfortable because either the speech was to loud or the sounds because they use different volumesIn my opinion having one media volume for your (media) sounds logical rather than have 2 or more volumes just for the sake of separating accessibility

Yeah, from what I've read people didn't really like the whole create your own character thing in a game like that and would've much rather just played as an already existing character. But like I said... J stars is by the same people but is much more playable, also much better as an arena fighter because everyone's on screen at once, so it's much more fun. The only thing Jump Force has going for it is actually being able to play as Seto fucking Kaiba in a fighting game.

I'd say manamon 2 is a little harder overall. The trap corridors in the edge of the world - the zigzag, specifically - are just...a lot. I mean, if I can run past five spikes, why do I have to run past eighty? It's just a little bit much. Sort of a running-out-of-gas moment.My next mono playthrough, BTW, will be magic. Thinking of using a team of four or five again, to increase the difficulty. Squarpha, Sullorb, Cofatena, Wizzell, Myaneko. Yes, Myaneko sucks and I already know how that one plays out, but I'm at a point now where honestly part of the challenge is in using at least one bad manamon, and not using a full team. If I used Grandlan and Mondevol and Enchandithol or whatever (maybe I'll use Enchandithol over Myaneko) - point is, if I use a full team of six - I have absolutely no fear of not winning.Failing that, I could always go for a team of manamon that don't evolve: Terruffalo, Squarpha, Snowmonno, Sullorb (doubling up on purpose here, to increase difficulty), Gargaram.

I do like having to volumes when it comes to the media and accessibility volume and everytime I tried commentary it does not work like how I expect the thing to work and I also don't trust Chinese software much and who knows what data is being sent to a Chinese server.

That's not a talkback problem, that's an android problem. You should know the volume situation isn't all that great to begin with. The exact same issue when dealing with ringer and media volume before accessibility volume was introduced. TAke it up with the google disability support team so they can possibly inform the Android developers. If they don't know, then it's never gonna get fixed.
